Link sat inside the Goblin's Cave, surrounded by blankets and pillows. Since conquering the spot he claimed it as his own. He wouldn't be able to do this inside the Inn in his room, just in case he made noise and people came to check on him.

<Aren't you exaggerating?>

"No, I'm not. I need a comfortable spot if i'm going to do this" Link said, looking around "I should've gotten more pillows"

Zero sighed.

Link has over 8 000 Mana Points right now, forcing him to do this was the right thing. He took a deep breath and started counting down.

"5..4...3….2....1" He clenched his jaw and fists.

Argh!

Link let out a sound, he felt no pain though, but for a different reason. He felt like his body was completely refreshed. Washing everything that might have made him feel uncomfortable.

"Wait, that's it?" He muttered.

<I believe so. Congratulations>

"I know something is going to happen, it always does" Link sat there, his body shaking, prepared.

5 Minutes passed.

30 Minutes.

An hour.

2 hours.

<Can we go now?>

"This is odd, I feel no changes, what was the point?" Link asked.

<We'll find out later. Let's get going>

Picking everything up, Link felt like an idiot. He overreacted.

He left the cave, heading towards the City. as he was walking along the path, 5 people jumped from the forest, armed with swords and axes.

"Hey little guy. Got anything good on yo.." The man couldn't even finish his sentence when his head flew off of his shoulder.

Wosh!

The other men didn't say or do anything else other than run as fast as they could. They saw a kid and thought they could take him, but without even seeing it, one of them died. They ran and ran, wishing they had more legs to boost and help them run faster. But it was all in vain.

Wosh!

Link was nimble, and his speed increased to a terrifying Level.

He did not hesitate to kill these people because of their armor. The armor of the Bandits around here. It was quite notorious inside the Adventurer's Guild. Even offering a reward for every kill like they were some sort of beasts.

This was not Link's first encounter with the Bandits. And it won't be the last. But they never posed any threat towards him, and he can get free money whenever they approach so Link quite liked his small encounters with them.

<They're like cockroaches, you kill as many as you can and these guys still come back>

"I know right. But i get rewards for every kill so it's not like i mind them popping up once in a while" Link started cutting the emblem on their arms. It was a double sided axe with horns. This was the proof Link would need to get the reward.

<You were faster and stronger. I guess you're slowly becoming a Monster. That's your pure physical prowess>

"I hope it's a good thing"

Link summoned his Wolf Cub Pet Beast Soul. He has been feeding the Monster corpses to it whenever he kills something, and the creature is slowly growing. The Guild never asks for the corpses unless someone offers to sell the parts, so Link always fed it what he got.

"You're getting big" Link said, petting the wolf.

The Wolf was no longer a Cub, though it was still titled as one. Its size was the same as a grown German Shepherd. It's color was turning grey with a hint of red here and there.

"The System still calls him a Cub, then how big will this guy get when he Evolves?" Link thought to himself, waiting for the Beast Soul to finish eating.

<You should name him, Pet Beast Souls are growth types. They always grow stronger the more you feed them, so when he steps into the grown combat mode it will started Evolving the more bodies it eats>

"That sounds awesome" Link said, looking at it. It looked like a dog, but its teeth were frightening. Its tail was fluffy and long. It's paws would have looked cute if not for the razor sharp nails it was using to cut the bodies as it ate.

"I'll need more time. I don't want to choose a name now and regret it later" Link said, sitting under a tree. He started looking up at the clouds, reminiscing about the old days. He missed his mother and sister. That deity told him that time flows differently there, which was why he's still hanging on, but finding a way back was still his main goal.

<You're thinking about them aren't you?> Zero asked <We will find a way back. World traveling is not as big of a deal as one would think it is. Just keep moving forward and grow stronger, you'll find a way>

Wof!

The wolf pushed Link's arm with its head in an attempt to comfort him. Link started to like his new pet more and more everyday. It helped with the stress and anxiety.

"Are you done eating?" Link asked, carrying it in front of him.

Wof!

It let out a faint sound, like it understood him.

"You're a smart guy"

"Everything is ready sir" a humanoid figure bowed. It was made of some kind of black substance. Not even reflecting any light.

"Good. Let's proceed with the plan that the useless Human Pawn failed to accomplish. We must kill everyone in that damn village" A man with horns and dark skin spoke. His fingernails were pointy and black in color, his eyes were shining in the darkness. Sitting on a throne made of stone.

"Yes sir. No one will survive"

Link sat in the City park. It was a public area filled with happiness and calm.

Kids played as their parents ran after them, birds sang atop the trees. While the grass and leaves danced with the sound of the music played by a group of kids.

This was Link's favorite spot, he would always find peace with himself and it helped him to finally drop his guard a little. It felt like home to him.

"Hello" Someone sat next to Link. It was a girl, she had a sun hat on with a beautiful dress. Link did not recognize her so he presumed that it was only a polite greeting since she sat next to him.

"Hi" He greeted her back with a smile.

"It's gorgeous here isn't it" She said, looking around.

"Yeah. I love coming here. It helps me relax" Link spoke, not looking at her.

"My name's Frey, what about you?" She reached for a handshake, which Link accepted.

"I'm Link. Pleasure to meet you" Link had a smile on his face but he was frowning in his head. This was too sudden, she was being too friendly and that set the alarms off in Link's brain.

"Was she sent by somebody?" He thought to himself "Maybe it was by Julian's father. Or she wants something from me"

"Sorry, i never done this before" The girl continued "Can i… Get your number?"

<Yep, something is definitely wrong here. Who the fuck would want YOUR number>

"I swear to god Zero, you're becoming meaner by the day" Link thought.

He turned towards the girl and took her phone, putting his number on it. He bought a phone when he got there. It was something he needed if he wanted to stay here.

The girl smiled and left with a small jog.

"This never happened to me before" Link said, looking around.

Now that he was paying attention. He noticed people taking quick glances at him, it was odd.

"What's wrong? Is something on my face?" Link thought. He stood up and went to the bathroom.

He walked inside and looked at the mirror, his eyes opened wide.

"Who is that?" He said with a high voice. The boy he was seeing looked a little different. Other than his purple eyes, his skin became smooth, as if it was a girl's. His face was perfect, his lips red, his nose and eyes looked cute while his hair was fluffy. "I'm handsome!" Link muttered.

<Not gonna lie, you do look a little better. Was this The Story of Genes's doing?>

Link stared at himself for a while then left. He did not know what to think of this.
