Missions! (2)

The forest did not lack Magical Beasts, but Link did not find any yet.

Walking through bushes, he saw a 3 feet tall Mantis looking creature, the scythe in both its hands was colored Red, it's eyes were black and it's shell dark green.

"What the hell is that thing" Link muttered. As if the creature heard him, it turned and jumped.

Ding!

Link stood there, wearing a brown armor, covering him from head to toe. It was the Sky turtle's Beast Soul Armor.

"This thing is going to be really useful," Link said, summoning his Dagger and slashing at the creature.

Ding!

The insect blocket the strike using it's red scythes, but with Link's strength it was sent flying backwards and slamming into a tree. The creature was injured and blood seeped through its hard shell.

"This is too easy" Link said, charging his weapon with Energy and slashing the air. "Wind Blade"

A crescent moon shaped Wind blade blurred through the air, cutting the fiend in half.

"Great, let's keep going" Link said after collecting the body. He kept walking, finding a couple more of the Creature.

"Alright, Zero consume all the Mantis Cores" Link commanded.

"Not now, i don't want anything happening to me here" Link said, proceeding with his killing spree. On his way, he found 2 of the Ghoul Flowers he needed, and killed 1 more Mantises.

"This is a good day" Link said.

His Mana Points increased by extra 35, but he gained no Beast Soul or New skill, which depressed him.

After a while, Link got all the flowers he needed, but he could not find any more of the creatures.

"Time to head back i guess" Link started walking back to the town, happy with his earnings.

Other than the extra Mana points, he managed to get the bodies of the creatures and complete his Mission.

"You're back, how did it go?" Raol asked.

"Went well, here you go" Link gave Raol the 5 Ghoul Flowers, gaining him 50 Points. "I have the bodies of Black Mantises, would you like them?" He asked.

"Impressive, how many do you have?" Raol asked.

"I have 5 bodies," Link smiled, taking the bodies out of his inventory. The ring is useful as a distraction, people would no longer look twice when he takes stuff out of his inventory since the effect is similar to the Ring's.

Raol was shocked, he didn't expect that many but he received them, he checked them out and asked "Where are the Cores?"

"I'm not planning on selling the Cores" Link said. "I believe the Bodies themselves are pretty useful as well."

"Indeed" Raol gave Link 5 Poins per Body which ended with 25 Points.

Total Points : 117 Points

Link went home, showered and went to sleep.

The next day was the same, he went to class and then went back to his room. After changing his clothes he planned on leaving to get another Mission, as he was about to step out of the Dorms Abby appeared out of nowhere.

"Hey, Link right?" She asked.

"Yeah" Link frowned.

"I heard you have Black Mantis Cores, i would like to buy them off of you" She said with a smile.

"Sorry, they're not for sale" Link felt that something was wrong but he couldn't put his finger on it, the Mantis Cores are not that special, it is a very common Creature and that made him wonder why she went through all this trouble just to ask for them.

"I'll pay 5 times their price" She answered.

"Sorry, i'm sure you'll find someone else who is willing to sell, they're not that rare after all" Link bowed and tried to walk away.

"Ok, i understand. Can I see them?" Abby seemed to be persistent, Link did not know why.

"They're not on me, maybe next time" Link spoke quickly and walked away. "Did she figure something out?" Link thought to himself, his heart beating fast. "I should get some extra Cores just in case"

Link entered the Mission Hall and accepted another request, this time it involved a fruit called the Light, which are shaped like apples but they give off a dim light, hence the name. "I thought I was the only one bad at naming" Link thought.

Light fruit can be found in locations where Light is more abundant, on a dark brown colored tree, if consumed the user may receive night vision for a short amount of time, must not consume more than 2 a day.

Link was walking around the first area, where it was the safest. He was told that the light fruit will be around but he failed to find any just yet.

After 2 hours of searching, Link could not find Light fruit or any Creatures either, out of frustration and annoyance he decided to travel to the second area, walking further into the forest. But he was no idiot, he understood that he might find creatures similar to the Wind Wolf he faced back at his village, but he was not afraid.

In the Second Part, the trees were thicker, blocking most of the sunlight from seeping through, this was Link's best environment. He activated 'Shadow Walk' and started moving with caution.

<Link, you have to be careful. You should have used the Mana you had to Activate 'The Story of Genes' Evolution>

"No, I already told you that I can't lose that much Mana and have few left, I can't risk it, what if I get into a fight and I'd need all my Mana?" Link whispered, looking around. He knew that he wouldn't find any Light Fruits around here due to the lighting but he wanted to hunt something.

<Be careful anyways, you barely managed to kill that Wolf>

"I got it" Link said.

It did not take long to find a Beast, it looked like a python with red skin, the scales each had a different shade.

"What's up with this place and red skins" Link muttered, sneaking around the Creature.

It was 3 Meters Long, eating what looked like a white majestic deer with tree shaped horns.

"That's nasty" Link thought, getting as close as he could. He charged up his weapon with as much Power as he could and swung it at its neck.

Ding!

Sparks flew, without dealing any damage to it, not even a scratch was left.

"Oh, i'm f*cked" Link said. The snake was enraged, it bit the body that was half into its mouth, cutting it clean, and jumping onto Link.

Wosh!

Link did not use Blink to dodge, he found the movement of the Snake slow. He noticed these things happening to him due to his Apex Predator stat, he moved swiftly and dodged.

"How will i be able to damage it if its skin is that hard?" He thought, dodging another strike. Link tried attacking all around its body, but it all ended with the same result.

"Am i gonna end up running away?" He muttered "No, i'm killing this thing"

Dodging over and over again, Link was not tired yet but he still felt like he was going nowhere with defeating it. He watched the head of the snake come for him, its eyes were big, shining in a yellow light.

"Should I try the eyes?" He thought, jumping away once more and getting ready.

The snake hissed, it was getting tired and angry with this human, it jumped one more going for his neck. That's when he suddenly vanished, appearing right next to it.

Squish!

The knife went in, blood squirted everywhere. The texture of the eye felt like Link plunged his knife inside rubber.

The snake wiggled on the floor, but after a bit it came after Link again.

"Die, will you" Link spoke, repeating his action. From his dance with the snake before he figured out that it was not that intelligent, it kept attacking the same way even though it was obviously not working, which is why repeating the same attack worked for Link.

The knife plunged itself in the already damaged eye, but this time Link activated Wind Blow.

ARGH!

The snake let out a gurgling noise, signaling that its brain was turned into a mush. It fell to the ground with a loud thud.

"Sweet" Link cheered, he collected the body and consumed the Core.

"Nice" Link was excited about hearing that. He did not receive any Beast Souls for a while now.

"That's stupid" Hearing he received a skill, he got even more excited, but after hearing what it does, he frowned.

Link checked his Beast Soul tab, seeing the Beast Soul.

He summoned it, but a single glove appeared on his right hand.

"What the hell?" The glove looked like it was made from Scales, they were Red in color. "Am i being trolled?" Link shook his head in disappointment.

Link did not want to keep going, if he encountered more Creatures like that, he would be dead for sure. As he was walking, he saw the corpse of the deer, it was cut in half, the other probably eaten by the Python.

"Does it have a Core i wonder" Link thought, he put it inside his Inventory and told Zero to check.

<Core found, yep>

"Zero I love you" He said, excitedly "Consume it please"

"What the hell is a Heavenly Deer?" Link said "Why is the description so lacking"

"WHAT THE F*CK" Link couldn't help but scream "Did that Python kill this thing? What happened?"
