First Day!

'New skill learned'

"What? is that system still with me?" red thought, excited "Inventory"

'Inventory option is sealed'

"I knew it wouldn't be that easy." His excitement slowly fading. he tried Shop, Map, Quests, but got the same message, except for Status and Skills.

In skills, all of the ones he had before coming here were sealed, a weird chain twisted on each and everyone of them. except for one.

Detury : An injury detection light spell, it would leave the injured area lit in a dim light. (Level: Max / Active)

For Status, it was different than the one he was used to.

"Interesting, my powers are mostly all here, i don't know what to do about the sealed skills, but it doesn't matter, i need to figure out what were the conditions of me learning the 'Detury' spell" thought red.

He stayed with that family, he concluded that he was adopted by them for some reason, even though they were not doing very well financially. He looked around, the people in the room were busy talking, red still couldn't understand a word they were saying but didn't care. He was tired and fell asleep.

.....

Reds first official day as a baby was peaceful, he had no responsibilities. All he had to do was eat, sleep and get his diaper changed, or that's what he guessed it was, some cloth were wrapped around his area acting as one.

Aside from the occasional baby noise or finger grabbing routine he barely moved. That left him time to do some tests with his new system.

His INT and WIS were the same as the first day he got the system, since he's a baby only physically, it made sense.

He would use Detury on himself whenever he was alone, seeing that he didn't have to speak the words for the skill to activate unlike that old woman, he didn't know if he's the only one that can do that or not, but he still thought it might be useful in the future.

If it wasn't for the magic spell and what that god told him, red would have thought that he went back in time.

He had a lot to do, the most important task right now is to learn their language. It was no mystery that kids have a greater potential for learning than adults. Red didn't know if that applied to him or not, but he tried.

One of the advantages of being a baby was that ignorance was perfectly fine, when the time comes, someone would teach him.

Red spent his first day with his new adoptive family in bed. it was similar to a crib, made from wood, it looked old and used, probably by his two new siblings before him.

Whenever someone talked to him, he paid close attention, trying to figure out common words or patterns.

His first day was boring, spending most of his time sleeping.

Thankfully, unlike the Cinderella fairy tale, his mother showered him with nothing but love and affection, making his day not a total loss. whenever he had to eat, anny would feed him using a bottle, it was well made, extremely similar to earth's baby bottles.

The final outcome though was no progress with the language, but he managed to learn his new name : Link.

The second day turned his world upside down.

Anny, showing her resolve, with no one around the house to look after link, she decided to wrap him up, making it impossible for him to move. Then decided to place him into her sash, using it like a baby cradle so that she could hold him with one arm with minimum effort.

(I will be referring to Red as Link from now on since that's the name everyone will be using. so that you"ll not to be confused)

She walked out of the small bedroom and found her younger daughter Lisa playing with a wooden sword, fighting her imaginative enemy.

*"What are you doing sweetie, you should be sleeping"* said Anny with a playful tone.

*"Sorry mommy, i just wanted to practice, become strong and protect everyone"* Lisa's face showed only sincere concern.

*"There is no need to worry, silly. it's mommy and daddy's job to protect you, don't worry, we won't let them harm you"* Lisa said while ruffling her hair.

She walked around her to the fireplace, lighting the wood with a finger move.

"Ignis!" a small red scribble appeared in the same spot, flying to the fireplace in a millisecond. lighting the wood.

"Ignis? isn't that latin?" link rejoiced "It really is connected to my old world somehow. why didn't the system learn the spell though?"

Link thought about it for a bit but then he gave up, in his current predicament he doesn't have the physical capacity to test anything properly yet.

Anny sent Lisa to open the window shutters to let the dawn light in while she started preparing breakfast.

The ingredients used were a bit familiar to link, like something that looked like an orange but had an odd color and even the milk didn't look right, it had a brownish color to it and smelled weird.

"Will I really be able to eat this food in the future?" link was distraught.

anny drew something in the air.

"Aqua!" the same thing happened, a weird scribble and then water came out of nowhere, filling up empty jugs.

Both Link and Lisa were ecstatic, although for completely different reasons.

For link, it confirmed some things for him, spells could be cast by anyone, he liked his new family but he was sure that they were commoners, or the equivalent in this world. then it was the latin and confirming that he needed a specific condition for the system to learn the spell.

For Lisa it was excitement, every time she saw her parents cast a spell it was like seeing a real magician at work.

*"You're amazing, mommy!"* Lisa's eyes were full of admiration. *"Will i ever be as good as you?"*

*"Of course sweety."* Lisa replied with a kind smile, while inwardly adding 'After years of chores.'

After a while, everyone sat to have breakfast together. The family consisted of Rao (Father), Anny, Two daughters (Lisa and Rena).

Rao and rena would get up early every morning to collect the eggs before someone else does, which explains their absence before.

Now that link was out of the bedroom, from what he could see, the house consisted of a big room used as a dining room, kitchen and pantry with two doors that lead to the bedrooms and nothing else.

Link could then establish with depressing certainty that there will be no room just for him, he might have to share with his sisters.

"F**k my privacy i guess." link thought.

Still an infant and thinking about a room just for himself.

After everyone left for their daily routine, anny sat with link on a rocking chair. During the time, he had the pleasure to discover that the daily chores like washing dishes or cleaning the floors were all taken care of using magic.

If the floor was muddy, anny used the word "Terra!" with the same odd hand gestures to send it outside, for the dust she used the word "Caeli!" for a gush of air to collect and get rid of it.

Magic was very common, Link noticed even Lisa using some simple spells, though sluggish and not as effective. it's still magic.

Hope the new change suits you. leave a comment and vote to show your support.

thank you.

PS. I tried my best with the status screen, it doesn't allow me to add a lot of space between words which is annoying.
