1 BILLION??!!
Link stood there with his guard up. Ronaldo just kept smiling in his direction as he walked in circles around him.
"Who are you?" Link asked. He kept following Ronaldo with his eyes, unsure if he'll be able to win against this guy. From what he understood, Ronaldo had some hand in this Tower, and from what Ora said, whoever created and set up everything was a genius and powerful being.
"~Me?~" Ronaldo chuckled. "~I already told you, my name is Ronaldo~"
"You're not just an Adventurer!" Link yelled. "Stop with the bullshit lazy eyes and speak!"
"~Lazy eyes?~" Ronaldo reached and touched his eyeballs. "~Ah, this was not put correctly~" He said as he proceeded to hold it with two fingers and adjust it. The scene sent shivers down Link's back. "~Better?~"
"Y.. yeah!" Link stuttered. "Speak!"
"~Alright, alright!~" Ronaldo stopped and with a smile started explaining. "~Do you know what was the purpose of that tower?~" He asked.
"No" Link answered impatiently.
"~Thousands of years ago, a group of Archmages got together. At the time, Magical Beasts were the ruling species as they raided, killed and destroyed many human, elf, dwarven... villages.. We've had enough. As wished to find a solution or a way to put a stop to this and reclaim our lands.
We were an Intelligent species with greater numbers, so why were we losing this war? This question was what started that god forsaken Alliance..
There was a female magician nicknamed Phoenix, the wielder of Fire and Magma. She ruled the desert area of the Continent with a Kingdom mostly populated with Demi-Humans and humans. Half cats and lizard people were everywhere as they lived peacefully under her protection.
Boulder, a male Magician who wielded Earth Magic. He ruled the mountains, with his Kingdom being mostly populated by Goat halflings, Ogres and Trolls.. He was not the nicest in the group, as he was half an Ogre himself… You know their temper.
Zaya, a beautiful but rough female Magician who wielded Thunder and Lightning. She was very competitive but easy to get along with. She ruled a Kingdom of mostly Humans.
Storm, an introverted Magician fond of research, so we rarely saw him around back then except on a few occasions. He wielded Water and Wind. He ruled the east Sea with some fish like species.. To be honest, I have no idea what they were. They never came out of the water and we were not allowed in.
Then, last but not least, there was me. Chrano.. Not a very good nickname, I know. Unfortunately, we were not the ones who picked our own so all we could do was live with it. I, of course, wielded Space and Time.. Impressive right?~" Ronaldo stopped for a second looking at Link's face, waiting for some reaction. But seeing Link's cold and uncaring attitude, he sighed and continued.
"~After a long time of arguments and worthless ideas, we found a simple yet terrifying solution.. The tower~" Ronaldo said with a smile. "~We built it in the middle of the Continent, to equally receive the Life energy of the imprisoned beings in it~"
"Imprisoned?" Link asked.
"~Yes!~" Ronaldo chuckled. "~That beauty was not built for accommodation.. But as a way to hold Life… We removed the death penalty from all our Kingdoms and started throwing all deserving criminals into the tower.. At first, energy flowed swiftly to each, creating a barrier all around our Kingdoms.. We made use of it and started fighting the beasts back and reclaiming our lost land.. That was until our territories grew bigger, and more energy was needed.
We threw every criminal with medium or large crimes in there, adding more and more as the time passed.. We successfully managed to win our War and control the Beasts.. But with the Life Energy no longer needed for protection, it became a valuable resource.
For a while we continued with our little agreement, but it did not last long as the others wanted more.. We found out that this Energy assisted in our Cultivation.. Blind greed fell on us as we fought each other. Once friends became enemies as they aimed to kill.
The fight led to disasters across the Continent for weeks, until one came out victorious.. ME!~" Ronaldo hit his chest as he exclaimed with anger.
"~I WON THAT STUPID FUCKING FIGHT!... FOR WHAT?
FOR POWER? FOR CONTROL?
NONE OF THAT MATTERED WHEN IT ENDED!
I WAS CRITICALLY INJURED, HANGING ON THE EDGE OF DEATH… SO ALL I COULD DO WAS MAKE MY WAY TO THIS CURSED TOWER, HOPING TO USE THE ENERGY SAVED THERE TO SOMEHOW HELP ME SURVIVE!
BUT NOTHING! IT DID NOTHING!

STUCK FOR THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF YEARS!
BECAUSE OF MY CULTIVATION LEVEL, I HAD A POWERFUL SOUL, WHICH FORCED ME TO SURVIVE AS I WATCHED A SPIRIT AFTER THE OTHER VANISH.. MAKING ME WISH FOR THE SAME FATE~" Ronaldo took a deep breath.
"~Then you came.. A kid with the powers of a Master Magician. Somehow managed to dig his way out through whatever means and saved us!~" Ronaldo took a step forward. "~I have so many questions.. But unfortunately, I can no longer hold my Spirit together.. So here's a small thank you present… For thousands of Years, the Life energy have only been accumulating, now it is time for it to be claimed!~"
Ronaldo moved his hand in a slash gesture, opening a small rift in space. "~Enjoy.. My rude but interesting friend!~"
WOSH!
Like a suppressed ocean, water-like substance flew out of the rift and ran towards Link, infusing itself with his body.
"What's happening?!" Link asked, worried. He still did not trust the man in front of him.. The man that was slowly fading away with a smile on his face.

'They can't see them... Again!' Link thought. 'This happened back when i transformed to my True Form and now... What does this mean?'
Link hesitantly opened his Status Window.. Only to be shocked even further!
