Champa’s Challenge

Goten had already guessed that it was Champa's Ki, as well as Whis' sister Vados. Among the 12 universes, the sixth universe was the one that had the most interaction with the seventh universe.

"Was that an earthquake just now?" Krillin asked, rubbing his head where a bump had formed due to falling on his head along with the weights by the sudden shock.

This familiar scene of Champa appearing didn't surprise Goten. He had just sensed two powerful Divine Ki signatures, one very similar to Beerus and the other to Whis. It was clear that the Hakaishin Champa and Angel Vados of the sixth universe had come to the God Realm.

In Dragon Ball Super, apart from these two, no other Hakaishin had visited the seventh universe.

"What's going on? Why aren't you two saying anything?" Krillin asked, looking at Goten and Whis, puzzled. Hadn't they both felt the shock just now?

At this moment, Beerus' irate voice echoed through the temple. "Whis… what on earth are you doing, you fool?" His words were accompanied by a violent explosion.

The temple was blasted open, and Beerus flew out, still in his light blue pajamas. He looked around sleepily, but his gaze soon locked onto the figures outside the door. He recognized the familiar Ki. It was as irritating as ever.

Beerus rushed towards the gate, blasting it open with an energy blast. Champa, who was outside the door, was almost blown away. Fortunately, he was agile enough to dodge. However, his face was darkened by the energy blast.

"Hey… Hey, skinny, you're really going for the kill. That's a bit too much!" Champa cursed at Beerus, his face dark. Although they were twin brothers, they were often at odds with each other. He didn't expect Beerus to make such a big fuss as soon as they met, almost sending him flying. It was unacceptable.

"Ah?! Who are you?" Beerus asked, feigning ignorance as he looked at Champa's soot-covered face.

"You jerk!! I'm Champa!" Champa replied, suppressing the anger.

"Heh!!" Beerus scoffed at Champa. In previous gourmet competitions, the sixth universe and the seventh universe were almost tied. But now, having discovered the real delicacies from Earth, he had absolute confidence in the food competition.

"Stop laughing, Champa! What delicacies can you have in your sixth universe? But since you're here, I'll let you taste the delicacies of our seventh universe!" Beerus retorted, then turned back to the temple. Champa and Vados followed closely behind.

"It looks like that fat man should be Beerus-sama's brother. As for the girl who looks similar to Whis, it should be his sister. Perhaps they are the Hakaishin and Angel from other universes," Goten spoke to Krillin in a speculative tone. After all, if he said it too surely, it would make Whis doubt him.

"Hoh! Goten, your guess is really accurate. The one who looks similar to Beerus-sama is indeed his brother, Champa-sama, from the sixth universe. As for the one behind him, she is an Angel like me, and she is my sister Vados." Whis confirmed.

Upon hearing Goten's conjecture, Whis was momentarily taken aback. However, he quickly composed himself and began to elucidate the situation to Goten and Krillin, his two disciples. He saw no reason to withhold this widely known information from them.

"Hakaishin of the sixth Universe?" Krillin queried, a look of confusion crossing his face. He had never before contemplated the concept of a multiverse. His understanding had always been that there was only one universe, with Beerus, the Hakaishin, as its most formidable entity. The revelation that Beerus had a brother, who was also a Hakaishin, and moreover, the Hakaishin of the Sixth Universe, was beyond his wildest expectations.

Meanwhile, Goten's gaze had shifted to Vados. She was dressed in the same angelic uniform as depicted in Dragon Ball Super, a blend of dark green and black, with an Angel staff in her hand. Her demeanor was aloof and dignified, her long silver ponytail swaying gently. Her features were near perfect, making her quite the sight to behold. The only aspect that Goten found slightly off-putting was her light blue complexion.

As Goten was admiring Vados, she and Champa had already approached them. "It's been a while, sister!" Whis greeted Vados courteously. After all, Vados was his sister, and among all the Angels, they shared the closest bond.

"Indeed, it has been a while, Whis," Vados responded, a sweet smile gracing her face. She then turned her attention to Goten and Krillin, curiosity evident in her eyes. "Are these two mortals the apprentices of Beerus-sama?" she asked. "Or perhaps, are they the candidates for the Hakaishin of the Seventh Universe?"

Vados scrutinized Goten and Krillin. The bald, noseless one didn't seem particularly remarkable. However, the other boy seemed to harbor a potent force within him. Strangely, she felt a sense of familiarity emanating from him.

She quickly composed herself, reasoning that since these two had been allowed to train in the world of the Hakaishin, they must have been trained by Whis. She was well aware of Beerus' notorious laziness, which was on par with, if not exceeding, Champa's.

"Yes, indeed!" Whis confirmed. "Both of them were chosen by Beerus-sama. If they prove themselves worthy, they may even become candidates for Beerus-sama." He didn't see any reason to hide this fact. After all, many Hakaishin across various universes had already begun their search for suitable candidates.

"That's quite impressive," Vados remarked, her gaze lingering on Goten.

Champa, however, burst into laughter. "Has Beerus lost his mind after all that sleep? He's actually chosen these two as his successors. They don't seem to possess any significant power!" He scoffed at Goten and Krillin, who were moving slowly due to their weighted suits. He couldn't believe that Beerus had stooped so low as to select these two as potential successors as the Candidate Hakaishin of his universe.

"Champa-sama, appearances can be deceiving," Vados gently chided. "Our candidates for the Hakaishin from the Sixth Universe may not be as capable as them." She had a feeling that the spiky-haired boy in front of her would achieve great things in the future.

Goten didn't take Champa's mockery to heart. After all, Champa was a Hakaishin, and moreover, Beerus' own brother. Despite their frequent quarrels and seemingly strained brotherly relationship, Goten knew better than to provoke a Champa unnecessarily. If he wanted to throw a few jabs, Goten was more than willing to let him have his fun.

A few minutes later, everyone had gathered in the temple hall. The events that unfolded were reminiscent of those in Dragon Ball Super. Champa began to boast about the gourmet egg from the Sixth Universe, only to be effortlessly outdone by Beerus with a cup of instant noodles.

Next, after losing the food battle, it was Champa's turn to challenge Beerus. "Hey Beerus, do you dare to compete with me? If I win, the Earth of the Seventh Universe will belong to our Sixth Universe. If you lose, I'll give you all six Super Dragon Balls I've collected."

Having tasted the delicacies of Earth, Champa was eager to claim the planet for his own. If he could make the Earth of the Seventh Universe his, he could indulge in the finest food every day.

"Heh… Stop talking nonsense, fatty!" Beerus retorted disdainfully. "You need all seven Super Dragon Balls to make a wish. What good are your six? Besides, do you really think you're worthy of challenging me?"

Beerus, wore an expression of disdain. He didn't take his counterpart from the sixth universe, Champa, seriously at all. The so-called Super Dragon Balls were of no interest to him. As for Earth, he had no intention of giving it up, especially not in exchange for a few stones that held no value to him.

"Hehehe… You're too scared to compete, aren't you, Beerus?" Champa taunted, his voice dripping with mockery. "I knew you were a complete coward. You don't dare to compete with our sixth universe at all."

Champa's aggressive approach was clear. To him, Beerus was nothing more than a skinny brute, and the one thing he couldn't stand was being looked down upon.

"Heh! Your aggressive method is really clumsy!" Beerus retorted, unimpressed. "Okay, if there's nothing else, go back to your sixth universe!!"

Beerus wasn't fooled by Champa's tactics. He knew his brother's methods all too well.

"Hehe~…skinny~" Champa continued, unabashed. "If you forfeit now and give us the Earth, I'll leave."

Champa was shameless, but then again, he had always been known as a scoundrel. In front of food, what was face worth? It meant nothing to him.

Beerus' was annoyed, but he held his tongue. Looking at Champa's smug expression, he knew there was nothing he could do. After all, the Hakaishin were expressly prohibited from fighting privately. A battle between Hakaishin would lead to the destruction of both universes. Even for them, this was a responsibility and consequence they couldn't afford.

Finally, Beerus could only ask: "Let's talk! How about a competition?"

Champa's gaze then fell on Goten and Krillin, who were standing not far away. He was elated. If these two could become Beerus's apprentices, then the strength of other mortals in the Seventh Universe was completely conceivable.
