Let's Talk

"You wanted to talk, let's talk!" Korra Commanded

Gon looked at the first person he had felt a connection to in this world with enmity. Now that she was here he was unsure of what to say to her because he did not know whether he had the guts to reprimand the first person other than his original parents that he had opened up to and just like before they had betrayed him. This time mentally not physically. He had been sold by his parents in exchange for cheap drugs while Korra enabled his friend to have possibly been killed by acting rashly in a situation that called for understanding. In a way it was worse, before it was only his life on the line but now because he was not quick enough Roshi could possibly been in the same situation that he had once been in, lying tortured and bleeding in some random cell with rusted bars that could possibly give a person illnesses. He quickly steeled his nerves and began to speak.

"Do you know what you have done, Korra?" Gon inquired, "Do you know the consequences of your actions , the pain that you have cause me?"

Korra was unsure of what to say when she heard Gon's words. All she had done was attack him because he was beating a man half to death. Nothing more, nothing less. She assumed it was the fact that she unmasked his identity and decided to play it cool.

"Please, enlighten me," Korra calmly replied.

"YOU KILLED MY FRIEND," Gon screamed.

Korra was beyond pissed at this accusation. As stated before, she had fought him, him alone and could not have possibly done anything to harm his friend as she was nowhere near anybody other than Gon.

"I do not know what you are talking about but just know I did not do anything to your friend. There was no one nearby but us anyway so, how could I have done anything to your friend?" Korra replied attempting to pacify Gon's previous accusation.

"It was indirectly," Gon said in a hushed tone.

Korra not quite hearing what Gon said asked, "What did you say?"

"It was indirectly," Gon shouted, "Because of you attacking mem my friend might be dead right now or rotting in some torture jail for all I know."

"You attacked a person to the point of almost crippling him," Korra argued, "I had to do something!!!"

"He was a triad member," Gon spoke, "I fought him to save a little girl yet you attacked me even after the child's words, even after seeing my face. You did not put your trust in me."

"That still does not give you the right to cripple a man," Korra tried to reason, "Just because he is a gangster does not mean that he is not human and just because you are my friend does not mean that I should put you before my Avatar duties."

"That is the thing though he was not human, he was a Monster," Gon laughed, "There are many kinds of monsters, those who show their face and those hiding in the shadows. Triad members are the latter of the two what some would say is 'A wolf in sheep's clothing. They are rapists murderers and pedophiles, the worst of the worst, that is why I felt no remorse when beating that little shit to nothing. If you do not believe me ask Tenzin. Though he may be uptight, he has never lied."

Korra looked at Tenzin hoping that none of what Gon said was true, praying that the man she saved did not commit any of the atrocities stated.

"Tenzin tells me this is not true, Tell me that all the words uttered just now were to get me, that I did not put a rapist that does stuff to girls like me back on the streets due to my arrogant belief that the Avatar could do no wrong," Korra begged with tears seeming as if they were about to burst from her eyes.

Tenzin looked at Korra for a quick second before saying two words to Korra, "I cannot"

And with those words, the tears finally started to seep down Korra's face. She was a failure of an Avatar. She understood this fact well now. What had she done to help others, fought Amon? It was funny because Gon had done that, he had even saved her just like he had done every other time in her life. She felt like a princess that needed a prince to save her and now that prince was gone because of her rashness.

"Do you even know what I was doing in the Triad area?" Gon asked.

"N-no" Korra stuttered as it was hard trying to speak while crying.

"My friend was captured by the Triad and so I went to save him but then I saw a girl that was being kidnapped by a Triad member and decided to stop and help before anything bad could happen. It was meant to be a quick detour where I saved the girl and quickly left to find my friend but then you showed up." Gon spoke in a harsh tone, "Instead of assessing the situation like we were taught to do by our bending teachers, Tenzin most recently, you ran straight in and attacked causing for me to defend myself and for Roshi to possibly have been killed because you wasted my time. You saw me without the mask and still attacked. You have not only betrayed my trust but also hurt me more than you can know. I let you in. I told you things that no one knows about me and yet you did not trust me to be able to do the right thing and for that I despise you."

"Shut up, Shut up, SHUT UP!!!" Korra shouted as her eyes started to glow and tsunamis started to form around Gon and Tenzin.

"What the hell is happening Tenzin," Gon shouted.

"This is what you would call the Avatar state" Tenzin answered, "When the Avatar feels attacked either mentally or physically, they go into this state. I heard about the first time my father did it. It was after he saw all the dead air benders at the temple. This must mean that you must have hurt her a lot."

"Well she hurt me too," Gon retorted gritting his teeth, "So we just have to take her down before she causes any damage."

Tenzin nodded. He did not really want to help Gon but he needed to. His family was close by and if nothing was done then they could possibly die if anything he heard about the Avatar state from his mother was true.

"Just do not kill her," Tenzin replied.

Gon nodded as he looked at his opponent, the person that was once his friend. Gon used his fire to propulse himself into the air attempting to hit Korra with a fire punch. She sidestepped in the air and brought a ton of water attempting to use it to drown Gon but he quickly evaporated it causing there to be a mist allowing him to punch her in the gut with enough power to finally push her back to the ground.

"This isn't the way Korra fights," Gon thought alarmed, "She was like a different person, more ruthless and powerful than before. This is going to be hard"

Tenzin created a barrier of air attempting to restrain Korra but was stabbed with spikes of earth causing for him to scream in pain. He let go for a second giving Korra ample time to throw a Tsunami at him and the general direction of the Temple itself

"No!!!" Tenzin screamed afraid of the devastation that would be caused if it went through the temple gates. His family's lives would be on the line if it did.

Gon seeing this ran up to the tsunami of water and attempted to freeze it knowing that it was the only way to beat something of this magnitude.

"Arrgh" Gon shouted using every single bit of power in his body in an attempt to freeze the devastation that the Avatar had almost caused because of denial.

Slowly but surely the tsunami started to freeze and just before it hit the area that Tenzin's family resided in it was fully frozen. Tenzin quickly used his control of air to throw the giant ice block into the sea.

He looked at Gon with a sincere smile and said, "Thanks".

"No problem" Gon replied having finally calmed down after having hit Korra, "Now, let us end this"

Tenzin started viciously attacking Korra causing for Korra to keep her attention on him while Gon, using this opportunity quickly chi blocked all of Korra's chi pathways. After this Korra fainted.

Her last words were, "I am sorry".

Gon and Tenzin sat there panting.

"Well, this is goodbye," Gon said standing up.

"Are you sure about this?" Tenzin asked, "Korra will miss you and we will too if you leave. Meelo sees you as a role model."

"I'm sure," Gon replied, "I need to collect myself, reorganize my thoughts and find out who I am meant to be. I always thought that I could be a hero that would not allow anybody to suffer the same things I suffered as a child but with me failing Roshi, I am not so sure."

"Just know that you will always have a place here," Tenzin spoke with a warmness in his voice.

"Bye," Gon said as he waved.

"Goodbye son," Tenzin answered.

I finally added the fight scene. It was hard to write this chapter and I think I could have done it better but here it is
