CHAPTER START---
Crouched beside Naruto and Sakura, Jin watches Yamato approach Kabuto on the bridge. The air is tense for his friends while he's completely relaxed, knowing what's about to happen, but he has to maintain his cover.
"Shhh!" he shushes Naruto while covering the blonde's mouth, this confuses his friends as Naruto for once wasn't even talking.
"Don't react to what I'm about to say, or you'll blow our cover, got it?" he looks between both of them, receiving nods her continues.
"I sense Orochimaru approaching nearby, but we can't make a move until Yamato gives the signal, DO.NOT.SPEAK." he glares harshly at Naruto before releasing his mouth.
As the meeting goes on and Kabuto reveals himself, Orochimaru makes his appearance right on time. Biding his time Jin prepares to get his plan ready.
"Why don't you call out those two little mice hiding back there!" Orochimaru announces, Yamato immediately gives the signal, but only Naruto and Sakura appear beside him.
Yamato recognizes what happened.
'He didn't detect Jin so he stayed back just in case, he's giving us time to stall for information...' he assumed.
As the conversation on the bridge continues, Jin couldn't be bothered that much by it. He discretely makes a single shadow clone and has it flicker back into the trees away from the soon-to-be-destroyed bridge as he prepares to make his entrance.
'Holy shit' was Jin's only thought as he saw a burst of red chakra cloak Naruto before he bitch slaps Orochimaru across the forest.
Observing the conflict, he sees Orochimaru flicker back to the opposite side of the bridge, peeling the skin off his fake face-off as he continues to taunt Naruto.
'If I let them fight a bit I can absorb more Kyuubi chakra when he goes four tails, I just need to get to him before Yamato, easy...' he decides.
As the rampage begins Naruto releases a deafening roar as more chakra envelops him, seeing this Kabuto charges forward with a chakra scalpel around his hand to protect his master.
Glancing back at him Naruto cries out, a wave of chakra destroys the bridge and ragdolls Kabuto toward the forest.
"Argh!" he cries out while flying toward the treeline, only the hard impact never comes.
A soft body cushions Kabuto and arms wrap around his neck tightly, restricting his airways while draining his chakra. He tries to struggle but doesn't have to energy to even scream.
"Shhhh, go to sleep doctor," a devious voice commands as his vision faced to black.
Jin places a hand on his head as he reaches into Kabuto's very soul, immediately finding the information he needs.
Casually Jin passes him off to the clone, immediately it disappears into the forest at top speed.
"Can you keep an eye on the pink idiot while I go after the blonde one?" Jin asks as he appears beside Yamato, the man had just used his wood style to catch Sakura after she fell off the bridge and was currently bringing her up.
"That's the nine tails, I can seal it so just let me handle it," Yamato insists.
"Sorry but my only mission is to make sure Konoha doesn't lose it, you deal with the medic," Jin shrugs as he flickers across the bridge and chases Naruto and Orochimaru into the forest.
"Can he even deal with Naruto like that?" Yamato questions as he tries to wake up Sakura.
As Jin watches the fight, he can't help but wonder what it would be like to control the nine tails, maybe he could do it, maybe it would make things easier.
The temptation is there but he casts it aside, he seeks to remove the tailed beasts not become them after all.
Watching Orochimaru trade blows, more like avoid death, against the Kyuubi is amusing, until Naruto's skin begins to peel away.
A wave of immense chakra pushes everything away like a hurricane.
"JIN GET TO ME!" Yamato cries out and he stands in front of a shocked Sakura.
Barely an instant later a shockwave destroys the forest as if a bomb was dropped. A wave of dark chakra forms a large dirt crater and the dark red four-tailed version of Naruto stands on all fours in the center of it.
"My god..." Yamato gapes as he looks at the damage, his own wood dome protecting Sakura and himself, their eyes immediately flicker to where Jin was standing.
Their eyes almost bulge out of their skulls as they see him standing on a patch of grass, grass, in a massive dirt crater.
Hands in his pockets looking completely unbothered as he watches the absurd fight.
"YOU!" Orochimaru snarls as his eyes glance at Jin, the young man looking unphased as he stares at the snake.
"Sup, probably gonna kill you after I deal with that dumbass," Jin nods toward Naruto.
As if on cue, Naruto begins gathering an immense amount of chakra, more than they'd ever felt before as the Bijudama forms above him, his head craned to face the sky as it gathers above his mouth.
Just as it's almost complete and Orochimaru is about to use his summoning jutsu to protect himself, Jin flickers beside the four tails form.
In one smooth motion, he places a hand on Naruto's head and another toward the Bijudama.
Both the attack and Kyuubi cloak are rapidly absorbed into his chakra absorption barrier. Everyone is shocked by this development and before their very eyes, a very sleepy Naruto falls to the ground.
Jin's hands sport light burns from the sheer heat of the boy's body as he hoists him onto his shoulder to stare at Orochimaru.
'Naruto isn't breathing, if he dies things go sideways...shit' Jin thinks to himself while he gives Orochimaru a blank look.
"Sannin, care to put your title on the line today?" he gives the snake a devious smile, his best bluff.
Orochimaru's gaze sharpens as he observes his opponent. He was about to use quite a bit of chakra to defend against the attack that this, boy, easily dealt with. And he forced the Kyuubi into the seal with ease. This is a bad situation.
"Hmm, Jin Satsujin, I really should've made you my vessel, well, there will always be next time," Orochimaru smiles as his body dissolves into a swarm of white snakes.
"Creep," was Jin's only response as he appears beside Sakura.
"He's not breathing," he tells her, snapping her out of her shock as she immediately begins to give Naruto CPR while using medical jutsu on his chest.
After a few minutes, she finally stops as Naruto begins to take steady breaths, both she and Yamato just sit beside the boy as Yamato explains what that was to Sakura.
"How did you do that?" Yamato asks Jin, clearly not sure what just happened.
"What, you know I can absorb chakra, why so shocked?"
"You absorbed the nine tails chakra...that's not possible for regular shinobi, what are you?"
"Irregular, simple, Sakura how long until he's up?"
"10 minutes at least," she responds before putting her focus back onto Naruto.
"I was assigned to this team because I can suppress him with my wood style, but you seem to be more effective than me... does the Hokage know about this?" Yamato narrows his gaze at Jin.
"Only one person knows SOME of what I can really do, and unless the toad sage breaks his promise it's gonna stay that way, Hokage or not the princess won't get me to spill unless it's relevant to the current situation of Konoha," he says with finality.
A tense moment washes over them before Sakura breaks the tension.
"She doesn't like when you call her that..." she mutters out.
"Huh?"
"Sensei doesn't like when you call her princess, the way you say it, she doesn't like it. How come you two don't get along?" She questions while carefully closing up Naruto's jacket.
"What she complains about me to her students?"
"No, she mentioned you a few times over the years. Ino mentioned you while we were studying and Lady Tsunade, she said you're an excellent shinobi but you don't respect authority, that you refuse to call her or Kurenai Sensei by their title unless it's for appearances."
"Sensei implies you'd have something to teach me, I respect Kurenai as a person, but we were never a good fit together. I outpaced her too quickly and she never had anything she could really teach me, that's why I trained with the sage. As for Tsunade, she is a princess in every sense of the word," he shrugs.
"Like Ino?" Sakura narrows her eyes at him.
"No, I call Ino a princess because she used to act like a spoiled brat, but that's not really the case anymore from what I see, at least when I'm around. But the actual princess. Ugh, great warrior reinvents the team and platoon system to drastically cut the number of casualties but then goes on two-decade-long bender emptying her clan treasure and drowning in Sake, then just walks back into the village and becomes Hokage just like that. Yeah, that's an entitled princess if I've ever seen one."
The absolute disgust in his voice was clear as day. Nobody spoke as they took in his words.
"Don't talk about granny like that," Naruto barely manages to say.
"Tch, please, your dad was a better Hokage, Kakashi would've been, Shikaku would've been..." Jin announces flatly as he looks into Naruto's eyes.
Naruto's eyes go wide along with his allies as Jin looks at him with disappointment.
"Sigh, you really didn't figure it out, my bad, I assumed you weren't a complete dumbass..."
