Betrayal

"You … you what?" Hler stares at Kei as Karr turns from him, clearing his throat while trying to look anywhere but at Hler. "Since when?? Karr?" 

"We found out only a while ago," Karr said, holding his hands up in the air in a surrender motion. "Calm down." 

"That's incredible," Hler said with a bright smile on his face but the distressed look on Kei's face and the worried one on Karr's is enough to immediately destroy what excitement he had. "Why do you both not look happy? Is this about who the father might be?" 

"No," Karr said quickly, looking over at Aseko sitting on the ground, staring up at them. His face is slightly contorted in pain, and his brows are furrowed as he stares up at them, not entirely sure how to react to this news that came out of nowhere. "I think it is best that we talk about this some other time." 

"No." Aseko and Kei said at the same time, both looking at each other with a frown on the former's end.
