3. The Chosen

"Take all the time you need buddy, take all the time you need" the girl grumbled unable to see clearly. She remembers vividly she was talking to the system when the air and her body became unbearably hot. She waited for the system to finish turning on so she can ask it about what happened and then know what was waiting for her next.

"A keyword? For what?"

[ For your information's safety from the enemies ]

She opened her mouth and mumbled the keyword to System 0, the system wrote it down on the screen in front of the girl

[ The chosen keyword cannot be changed, are you sure you don't want to make any changes? ]

The system asked her one last time and she agreed, System 0 accepted and added the keyword to its algorithm and saved all changes made.

[ The keyword has been saved ]

[ The keyword can be used to teleport you to the timeline of your ancestor and, in case of danger, it can enable the hidden ability. You need to think of what you want so you can use this keyword ]

[ The keyword can be used as much as you want ]

"Go-"

[ 3 days cooldown, until then the keyword cannot be used ]

"Fucking useless system" she grumbled while trying to stand up.

[ It can't be helped, using the keyword means using your mana, Some warriors would end up fainting, and others might lose their lives because of using it a lot, so for your safety, we decided to make it used once every three days so the body can recover enough before the next use ]

"That makes sense" she mumbled, she tried to stand on her feet but she ended up falling on her knees, "what's wrong with me?!"

"You better do," she said between gritted teeth, her body was starting to heat up again which worried her, if this is some kind of side effect for the abilities she was gaining then there has to be a way to at least calm the pain down so she can keep living normally without wishing to kill someone from the unbearable heat and pain she's in like right now.

[ Since your body is still new to this amount of mana, it's trying to make some kind of maintenance so it can use it without killing you the second you try to unleash the inner abilities ]

The girl stared at the system's screen and started to sink into her thoughts, System 0 kept watching her while helping her to lay back on her bed.

One of the best things System 0 has had is the ability to take a human's form, though the body isn't literally like a human's it's still useful enough in times like this, so after it put her back to bed it started checking her health condition before it went back into a screen preparing to leave.

"Where are you going?" She asked while resisting falling asleep.

[ You aren't the only warrior. I need to go and check on the others and prepare the data so Nature and Earth can prepare the squads and know who from the chosen is worth their special mana ]

"What is that?" She asked close to giving up and falling asleep

[ You don't need to know now, so rest your weak body because starting tomorrow you'll go through a rough training especially made for you as a fighter. You'll know the rest the next day, so try to get your fair share of sleep because you'll miss it later ]

"Hahaha, the fact a system is suddenly talking casually to me" she commented getting in exchange a slap on her head

[ Shut it warrior 01!! I'm being nice enough to you since Cleopatra favors you! ]

"But why would she?" She mumbled wondering why would a legendary like her favor someone who stole one of her favorite bracelets, since Cleopatra's known for her love for accessories and beauty things, which Warrior 01 doesn't care about, "wait hold on! Why are you using this code with me?? You know I have a name!"

[ Sigh, I know that Warrior 01, but we use those codes so the identity of the warrior stays hidden during the tutorial- ]

"You mean training?"

[ Yes, that thing... After you finish your training it'll be your choice if you want to reveal your identity and run after fame and money or keep it hidden and work in secret for the sake of this planet ]

"But aren't all warriors famous? We've been studying about them all in school, starting from Warrior 01 Shadow Monarch to Warrior 100 The Unknown Shadow"

[ That's a ridiculous name ]

"Tell me something I don't know" they both shivered from the cringe of that Warrior, though he was loved by all since he was a fighter, he was still the weirdest of all. He was the first to die since he revealed his identity, he survived for a whole week before he was attacked and killed, luckily his mana managed to be saved by other Warriors who borrowed it to defeat the enemies who attacked back then.

"What will I be learning tomorrow?" She asked while adjusting her pillow.

[ You'll receive a message don't worry ]

[ And speaking of messages... Don't forget to check the other one when you wake up, ok? ]

"Jeez what a system" she mumbled planning to get dozens of sleep she had never had before. Tomorrow will be a chaotic day and she knew that fully well, well... What to expect from a warrior? Life will never be easy and that's why she kept praying she doesn't become one but there she is, running a fever after System 0 left her and can barely breathe, "fuck... You... System 0" she mumbled before she finally managed to fall asleep praying tomorrow to never come.

The unwanted day came, and the sun rays made their way to Warrior 01 room slowly she opened her eyes and was faced with the system's screen asking her if she wants to check the other message.

[ You received a message from your ancestor ]

[ To proceed, choose "Open". If you don't want to, choose "Exit" ]

She stared at the screen for a few minutes and sighed before she stood from the bed and walked to the bathroom.

She gave herself all the time to think it through before opening the message because after all, it was from her ancestor "Cleopatra" so who knows what she wants to say to her, maybe punish her for stealing one of her favorite accessories? But she can't because she's far from her in many timelines, "but she's my ancestor so Nature and Earth will allow System 0 to bring her to me and do what she wants whenever she wants"

A headache started to rise and Warrior 01 found herself already tired before she knows what was in the message, "augh, whatever"
