Chapter 2: Pantheon

Sekhmets' footsteps echoed down the large golden hallway and sparked a rolled papyrus leaf packed with cannabis that was grown in Gardens of Hera. She took in a deep inhale and exhaled smoke that were the colors of a nebula. She stopped in front of a large golden pillar that was shined to perfection. One could see their reflection as if looking in a mirror.

Sekhmet smiled at her own beauty. Ebony skin that was flawless, shined brightly against her white red dress. She wore no make-up except for the style around her eyes. Her round nose housed a sliver septum piercing on the left side of her nose that complimented her diamond earrings that were the size of quarters.

'Still as beautiful as ever, Sekhmet.'

She rolled her lion like eyes and turned to face a man that stood twice her height and equally as dangerous.

'And yet you still choose to look ruggedly handsome Fenrir', she responded while turning to face the Wolf God.

Fenrir smiled, showing sharp wolf-like canines. His eyes glowed the color of emerald, and black hair that was shaved on both except for the top that was a single braid down to the middle of his back.

'Well, if I was in my true form, I wouldn't be able to even fit in this hallway at all', he said.

Sekhmet smiled slightly and offered Fenrir her papyrus blunt. The Wolf God took a hit and exhaled white crystals as if a snowstorm was within his lungs.

'Never did ask. Why do you smoke this?' He said while handing it back to her

'It's to keep my other half in check', she said and continued towards a large room where yelling and arguing boomed like thunder could be heard.

Fenrir walked on her right side.

'But you are a war goddess. Shouldn't you revel in destruction'

'Do I look like Ares to you?'

'No. But you are more beautiful than Athena'

'Careful. Athena may still be a virgin, but she takes her beauty seriously,' Sekhmet stated as Fenrir pushed opened a large door to reveal gods and goddesses of various myths sitting around a circular table. And of course the two arguing in the middle was none other than Zeus, and Odin.

'WHAT!?'

'You heard me you one eyed bastard!'

Sekhmet and Fenrir separated to sit with each other's respective pantheon. Fenrir sat next to his uncle Thor and Sekhmet took her place beside her brother Horus.

'Arthur has been defeated, you damned horny jackass!', Odin stated while pointing at the very person who sat between Ares and Athena.

'He was supposed to be unbeatable', Zeus argued back. 'All the humans who fought against him were destroyed then respawned in Ma'at, Olympus, or Valhalla. And this random human just opens a curtain, and Arthur dies of his own accord!'

'You know for a Greek you aren't very bright are you Zeus? Always thinking with dick and never your brain', Odin said matter of factly.

That warranted a few laughs from the crowd. Even Ra, who had yet to say his piece, managed a half smile at the jab.

'Do we even know what this human looks like?,' asked Ra.

Odin snapped his fingers as a large statue began to take shape.

The figure wasn't very tall, broad shoulders with a build of that of a spartan warrior. His skin, the color of bronze, head shaved clean except for a beard that was neatly kept. Eyebrows naturally furrowed, with a piercing gaze. Dark brown eyes shined like black diamonds with a single platinum hoop earring the size of a dime in his left ear.

The name 'Magnus' floated above the statue in gold lettering.

It's very rare that the gods have been surprised or shocked by a mortal's appearance. Not a single word was uttered except one goddess whose eyes went wide with disbelief.

'Imoteph?', Sekhmet said breathlessly.

The entire Pantheon of Gods roared with anger!

As the gods argued and threw curses at one another, a single figure sat far from the rest of them. He wore a cloak and hood that covered the top side of his face, but the weapon that rested beside him, Oshe, the double headed battle-ax, gave away his identity.

He was known by many names yet truly recognized by one.

Shango, The Supreme Ruler of the Yoruba Pantheon and High God King of Africa.

'They argue like children', Ogun, his twin brother, said while picking up Oshe and inspecting it, then taking his seat a row below Shango.

'A mortal did defeat Arthur. There wasn't a rule stating how he was to be defeated. Arthur is a king. He knows what we are doing,' said Shango.

'And yet it's just funny how that mortal looks exactly like Imoteph?'

'It is amusing. Did you get a look at the mortal, Ogun?'

'I did'

'And?,' asked Shango.

Ogun looked into his brother's pure red eyes with no pupils or iris. They looked exactly alike in every way. Full lips, wide nose with a diamond shaped head. But whereas Shango had the darker skin tone, Oguns was albino.

Shango looked into Oguns' pure black eyes that were a dark blue and housed millions of stars.

'He has light in his eyes, Supreme One,' Ogun finally said while setting Oshe back besides its master.

Shango smiled and said, 'We will need someone to watch over the mortal on his journey. Who do you think I should send into the 'game' we have created?,' Shango asked his brother.

'Ares?'

'No. He would be too focused on fighting and trying to destroy anyone who crossed his path'

'Athena?'

'To controlling'

'Loki?'

Shango raised an eyebrow.

'I'm kidding,' Ogun laughed.

Shango looked among the gods and goddesses. He needed someone he could trust. Someone who he could rely on and also the mortal could trust.

'Sekhmet,' Shango stated.

Now it was Oguns' turn to raise an eyebrow.

'Are you sure Shango?'

'Yes. She managed to defeat both Apep and Jörmungandr. She also killed an Eldar God. Something only you and I have achieved within eons. On top of that, she managed to her greatest achievement-'

'Defeating the Twelve Zodiac Kings,' Ogun said before his brother could finish.

Shango smiled and then threw Oshe ax into the space above.

'A gift for the mortal brotha,' Ogun asked.

'He should be fairly compensated for being the first human to defeat the King of Camelot. Besides, The Great Dragon is about to awake'

Ogun did not need to be asked.

Like the wind, Ogun vanished into thin air.

Shango leaned forward and whispered Sekhmet's name.
