Mason was back in his office working when his assistant came in to tell him that his friend Stan was there to see him.

"Please let him in," Mason said to his assistant.

"Okay sir," his assistant left his office.

Mason closed the document he was working on as Stan walked into his office.

"Mason the workaholic," Stan teased.

"Good day to you too Stan," Mason said smiling.

"Good day, my friend," They both shook hands before Stan sat down on a chair across Mason's desk.

"What's up, man?" Mason asked Stan.

"I'm good man. How is work?"

"Work is great, stressful but great," Mason replied.

"I see what you've done with the place, it's buzzing with activities. I'm sure your grandfather would be proud of you," Stan said smiling.

"I try to do my best," Mason replied.

"Yeah, I can see that." Stan brought out a file from the briefcase that he was holding. He placed the file on Mason's desk.

"That is what you asked for," Stan said.

"That was fast," Mason said as he took the file, opened it, and started going through it.

"There is nothing much about the girl, she is just like every other normal girl," Stan said.

"Except that she has maxed out her credit cards, hasn't been able to pay back, and she is owing $12,000," Mason said as he looked at the details on the file.

"Yeah, except that. Well, I'm not surprised, people borrow money all the time to meet different needs," Stan said.

"She doesn't have a college degree, and she isn't currently undertaking any college program, so that means she didn't borrow the money to sponsor her tuition," Mason said as he continued to look at the file. He looked up, "Stan, I appreciate your help, but this isn't enough."

"What else would you like to know?" Stan asked him.

"For starters, why she borrowed this amount of money, what could she need it for? Is a member of her family sick or something?"

"Her mother is a crack head, and her father is late, she is an only child, so I doubt if that's the case," Stan said.

"Probably she has a relative, probably an aunt or something, I need you to find out everything you can about this girl," Mason said.

"All right, I will do that and get back to you with what I find," Stan said.

"Thanks, man, I appreciate," Mason said.

"Don't complain when I send you the bill though," Stan said.

Mason laughed, "no problem."

"May I ask why you are so interested in this girl?" Stan asked.

Mason shrugged in an indifferent manner, "you know how I like to make check out anyone coming around me. with my line of business, one has to be careful," Mason said.

"She is coming around you? How?"

"It's complicated man."

Stan was quiet for a moment, the look he gave Mason showed that he didn't entirely believe him. Stan and Mason have both been friends since they were in high school and Stan knew his friend very well.

"Okay, I will make sure to let you know once I find out any more details about her."

"I would appreciate that."

"She is a beautiful girl though," Stan said, gauging Mason's reaction but Mason didn't reply. Stan felt there was something that Mason wasn't telling him.

A knock came on Mason's door, and his younger brother, Jason walked in.

"Hey Stan," Jason said in a cheerful tone. Stan got up from his seat and they both shook hands.

"It's been a while man," Stan said.

"Yeah, how have you been?" Jason asked.

"I'm good. How is work?"

"Work is great," Jason replied.

"Good to see you again," Stan picked up his briefcase, "Mason, I will keep in touch," he said.

"All right, thanks man," Mason shook his friend's hand.

"See you around man," Jason said to Stan.

After Stan had left the office, Mason turned to look at his younger brother, "to what do I owe this visit?"

"Do I need a reason to stop by at my brother's office?" Jason asked with an innocent face.

Mason blew out a breath, "Jason, I have work to do."

Jason ignored his attitude and sat down, "you know why I'm here, so out with it."

Mason raised an eyebrow, "I don't know why you are."

"Come on Mason, don't make me beg for it, out with it already," Jason said.

"I still don't know what you are talking about."

"Come on Mason, I'm talking about what you went for yesterday. How did it go?"Jason was the one who showed Mason the site where he had met Ava.

Mason shrugged, "it went well," he gave Jason the look that he didn't want to talk about it anymore, but Jason persisted.

"Nah bro, I can't take that, you have to give me more details, how was it?" Jason said.

"You know I don't kiss and tell," Mason said as he went back to looking at Ava's file.

"This is different," Jason said.

"How so?" Mason asked

"You are not going to see the girl again," Jason paused, "or except you are?" Mason didn't respond.

"You like the girl don't you? Was she that good? I heard some virgins...."

"Jason, I have work to do!" Mason said, interrupting Jason.

"Hmm, this discussion isn't over yet," Jason said with a smile.

"Whatever, just leave me alone. Some of us have work to do."

"I do have a job too," Jason said as he stood up to leave.

"Then go do it," Mason said.

"Unlike what you think, modeling is a full-time job," Jason said.

"Obviously not for you."

Jason snorted as he walked out of Mason's office. Jason was a very handsome guy, he took after their mother, so he had a fine face. He believed his fine face is supposed to fetch him money, so he went into modeling, but Jason rarely showed up whenever he was being called for a modeling job. Instead, he prefers to jump from one woman's bed to another.

Mason sighed as he pushed the thought of his brother out of his mind. He went through Ava's file one more time, and he thought of calling her. But what would he say to her?
