"Keep moving; we must get out of here as soon as possible! The exorcists will start the frontal attack; we need to evacuate!" Two soldiers urgently entered a small place where medical attention was being given to the wounded.
The elderly doctor, who had been attending to all the survivors, let out a long sigh of relief upon seeing all those soldiers arriving at the scene. Besides, it seemed like survivors were gathering here, so things didn't look as bad.
Unfortunately for them, things weren't as good as they thought.
The soldiers began to arrive with such severe injuries that they needed an operating room immediately to treat them. Others had their limbs hanging, and many others had arrived dead.
"We must get out of here. The army will start a total attack, and we'll only be a hindrance if we stay here!" said the captain, taking off the helmet on his head.
"With all due respect, sir, but as you can see, there are hundreds of injured here, and we can't accommodate more! We won't leave them, nor will we flee. Considering the current situation, it's best for all of us to stay here!"
"But that can't be; if we stay here, more will get hurt due to the collision of the battle!"
"Are they going to use missiles?" a young man asked worriedly.
"Are they going to bomb this place? Impossible!" shouted an old man with a bandaged head.
"They won't use missiles. Some soldiers will start a direct attack on the enemy! It's known that they are terrorists who released mutated beasts with a special chemical. We will take care of your safety, so you don't need to be afraid."
"We will do what you say!" The doctor nodded in agreement. In any case, only the military knew what was happening here, so they had to move according to the plan.
"How will we move?" asked a woman holding her child in her arms.
"Now is not the time to think about such small things; the enemy is heading in our direction because we are afraid! Negative emotions attract those kinds of monsters, so stop feeling afraid. Together, we are strong and will survive."
Residents in other areas had already been evacuated. This was the only place where wounded people could be found, and it was the most conflicted area as it was in the central zone of the attack line.
The old doctor looked at the ground and saw that many were unable to stand up, so he said, "I will not abandon my patients. My wife and I promised to stay by our patients' sides until the end."
"If you told us not to be afraid, if we abandon them, what they will feel is terror!" The doctor's voice carried a strong sense of determination. The soldiers in defensive positions turned their heads and clenched their fists for not being as strong as they wanted to be.
"Since the civilians refuse to be evacuated, we will not move from this place." The soldiers spoke in a loud voice deliberately so that people could hear them, and they left the building immediately once they finished speaking. Seconds later, the sound of gunfire was heard continuously from not far away.
Bang Bang Bang Bang!
The soldiers wanted everyone to stop feeling afraid, but even they were terrified. All they hoped for was that their sacrifice would be worth it so that the entire city wouldn't be destroyed. There were more than four hundred thousand people in all of Miami, so the enemy's advance couldn't continue.
The elderly couple of doctors sighed as they hugged each other lightly. At least they had lived a life full of happiness, but there were children here who were just beginning to live.
But then, at that moment, a soldier who had left to fight hurried back. He was carrying a rifle in his hand.
"What's happening?"
The elderly couple was taken by surprise. The soldier took a deep breath and said in a grave voice, "We haven't received reinforcements, and the enemy is heading in our direction! It's better that I end your lives than for you to be killed by those monsters."
However, at that moment, an old woman stepped out from the corner of the site where they were and said, "Excuse me, young man, my husband was in the war, so I know what you're going through. Don't fight for the old; take the children and leave this place as soon as possible."
Only then did the soldier lower his weapon upon seeing the old man walking slowly toward his place.
"If those children leave the embrace of their mother, then I won't feel like I've saved them! Outside here, everything is chaos; honestly, we don't know if we can escape or not."
"So, what are you going to do, young soldier?" the elderly woman asked.
"I'm going to stay here. I'm sure reinforcements will arrive soon, so if I hold on at this point, maybe we can survive." The soldier put on his helmet and walked to the door without saying another word.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The ground began to shake more and more strongly.
Making a decision, the soldier stood at the door and saw what was happening outside. When he managed to focus his view away from the smoke and dust, he saw a monster about three meters tall. It crawled on all fours over the buildings' structures, and then it saw the soldier.
"That's its mouth; it's..."
The demon was biting one of his companions, who was in combat. The soldier's eyes narrowed, and he squeezed the trigger of his rifle.
Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!
"Ahhhhh!"
Unfortunately, although they were a group of special forces, their modern weapons became useless against certain levels of enemies. That demon received the bullets and easily healed its body.
"For God's sake, I must hold on at this point, or everyone will die."
But just then, a black figure appeared in front of the soldier and said, "Everything will be alright now; Kiran is here!"
