After obtaining the Boulder Badge, Folker went to the Pokemon Center for a quick check up and healing for his exhausted Lucario. After that, he went directly to the outskirts of Mt. Moon for training. In fact, he could hardly wait in excitement to check out his newly evolved Lucario's new features.
He could also train in the Battlefield of the Pokemon center but he shook his head at the idea. Training in the wilds would allow him to keep his secrets, not to mention that it would also yield better results.
With his newly evolved Lucario, he planned for it to have a battle against his Scizor. He speculated that the battle within the two would attract attention if he did it on the Battlefield of the pokemon center. After all, Lucario is a rare cool-looking pokemon, not to mention that it can talk, as for his Scizor, it's good on its own and can give Lucario a good fight.
Mt. Moon is a mountain located in northern Kanto, between Pewter City in the west and Cerulean City in the east. It is filled with rugged rocks and dangerous pokemon. Climbing does not seem to be possible; to get past it, travelers always need to travel through the caves.
It is aso known for being one of the few places where wild Clefairy can be found and for its frequent meteor falls. The shards of meteorites that fall here become Moon Stones, which explains the mountain's name. The mountain is also known for being home to Pokémon Fossils. Brock digs for Fossils here in his spare time.
At this time, on the outskirts of Mt. Moon, Folker stood as he reached for his pocket and grabbed two pokeballs. He called out Lucario and Scizor out of their pokeballs.
"Lucario!"
"Scizor!"
The two pokemon let out a cry at the same time. Scizor was taken aback at Lucario's figure and couldn't recognize it for a while until Lucario talked to it and introduced itself. Only then did Scizor recognize it.
Folker didn't bother entering the cave since he's only here to train and to check out the stats and features of Lucario.
"This time, let's have you battle each other. Scythe, give it a good battle, will you? I want to check out Lucario's new features through a battle between you two" Folker said as he smiled.
"Scizor!"
"In that case, I'll showcase my abilities. I also look forward to battling Scythe" Lucario said as it nodded its head while looking at Scizor's figure. They already battled quite a lot through battle royales with Magnemite.
It was usually Scizor alone dominating the fight, forcing both Riolu and Magnemite to team up with each other. This time, Lucario no longer needs to team up with Magnemite to be able to put up a fight with Scizor.
Scizor looked at Lucario warily. Both pokemon sized each other up while Folker just stood on the sidelines as he watched the two.
The first one to make a move is Scizor. Naturally, it's Scizor's signature move, [Bullet Punch]. Lucario responded and met its punch head on with [Meteor Mash]. Their punches collided with explosion. Both were pushed back from the impact. Scizor almost fell down but was able to stabilize its footing. Lucario, on the other hand, had a good sense of balance and just did a backflip to stabilized its footing.
Scizor then used [Double Team] and created 7 clones and approached Lucario's figure with another [Bullet Punch]. As for Lucario, it closed its eyes and raised its ears as it vibrated and tried to sense the real Scizor.
However, it looked like it would take a while before it could locate the real Scizor so it just focused on all the clones and dodged all the attacks.
'Lucario has excellent reflexes as well as senses which allows it to be able to react to all kinds of attacks. Scizor on the other hand, is too one dimensional' Folker thought to himself as he observed the battle between the two.
The two exchanged punches for a while in close combat. It was usually just Lucario dodging the attacks and some occasional [Meteor Mash] while Scizor mainly used [Bullet Punch] supported with [Double Team].
Folker called Scizor one dimensional since it only used a few moves and relied too much on [Bullet Punch]. But he knew that it's his fault since he didn't bother trying to come up with better strategies for Scizor.
He then recalled Korey's Scizor. He then made up his mind to come up with strategies for Scizor. Otherwise, his opponents would easily be able to come up with countermeasures against him.
As for Lucario, it had excellent reflexes, coupled with its excellent senses, it was able to respond to Scizor's lightning quick punches. However, it wasn't able to counter Scizor's barrage of attacks without taking damage. Therefore, it could only result in dodging and intercepting attacks.
During the course of the battle, Lucario is slowly adapting to Scizor's rhythm while simultaneously dodging its attacks. Scizor, on the other hand, frowned and stopped for a while. It understood that [Bullet Punch] and [Double Team] are not enough to defeat Lucario.
It was at this moment that Scizor channeled normal type energy as it took a deep breath and increased its focus on Lucario's figure with [Focus Energy].
[Focus Energy] is a move that increases critical hit ratio. Scizor analyzed Lucario's weak spots and focused on them. From now on, Scizor would target Lucario's weak spots.
Lucario also responded by rousing itself with [Work Up] to increase its attack and special attack stats. Lucario took this opportunity to buff itself up.
Scizor then quickly approached Lucario's figure with [Quick Attack] and let out a slashing motion. Lucario whirled its fists as round blue light with dark edges appeared in between its fists, [Aura Sphere]. It then bent its knees and made a leap high in the air and launched [Aura Sphere] towards Scizor's direction.
Scizor used the energy from [Quick Attack] to dodge [Aura Sphere] and followed it up with [Bullet Punch] as it made a leap towards Lucario's direction at breakneck speed and struck Lucario's figure. Lucario also responded quickly and braced itself by keeping its hands by the cheeks to protect its chin.
However, Scizor still wasn't finished and followed it up with [Wing Attack] and landed a direct hit on Lucario!
Lucario was pushed back from the impact and slammed into the ground.
Folker's eyes lit up when he witnessed this scene.
