Vik

Laila POV: -

As Vik is opening and bringing out the gifts he brought to me from his backpack, I remember the old times we used to have during my training days.

Vik's real name is Venkat, he comes from another region further than Galar. The region he comes from has Temples, Sacred regions for worship and many more. People from their treat each other with respect and do not use poke balls at all. They let Pokémon roam free in their land and respect them. While there are few people who have poke balls, they are people who are training to become Pokémon challengers or who want to travel outside their region. In the temples, they pray to few Legendary Pokémon as they think they will bless them with good luck and good fortune.

When I first met Vik, he was boisterous and loud as he still is. He is currently a 6' foot tall and has a tan color skin. A good figure and an intellectual personality. He is a 'Battle Archeologist' and an explorer.

Since the region he comes from, has many Temple's, Sacred Regions, and unexplored lands. His dream is to explore and discover the heritage lost in his home region and spread all the knowledge he discovered to his people. He has a noble dream, but after a huge natural disaster almost few centuries ago. Much of the land became dangerous and many places became ruins. Many pokemon also became extinct.

The main job of a Battle Archeologist is to explore high level danger regions and discover clues/fossils and bring them back to the Scientists or Historians , so that they can find any matching in their Ancient Scriptures or Scroll's left behind that can help them in further exploration.

Due to this reason the Battle Archeologist's are highly valuable and also less in number. Because of the danger it possesses to the individual person they are rare and very few people to take on this job. Vik is a genius in his region, but he is still young still 22, primes of his life. So, for experience he came outside his region and explore in the Ancient ruins in places that are closer to civilization.

Vik is a genius not only in battling but also because of his intelligence. He might look goofy, but when time comes, he is very smart. Due to his profession, he is required to have a strong team. This is one of the few professions in his regions that has a requirement of having poke balls. His team must have a balance, and not be chaotic.

I first met Vik after two years of starting my journey. We spent Four years together travelling and exploring different regions, environments, wild forests, and faced dangerous situations. I trust him with my life when I am with him.

So, besides his First Pokémon, he only had two other Pokémon with him when I first met him. They were-

1)Noibat

2)Pupitar

3)Charmeleon

Due to the having many ruins in his home Region, Noibat has become one of the Starter Pokémon there. Since it can track structures and caves with the sound waves it produces. It became highly sought after for Archeologists, but due to this 100 years ago many sailor's pirates and people of other region chose to capture them and sell them to other regions as exotic and rare Pokémon.

After this incident, the Pokémon League of that region highly controlled the population of Noibats, and only gives them to their own trainers. Another reason is that, the typing of his home region's Noibat is Dark/Dragon. Due to living in caves and Ancient Ruins all the time and absence of light. The Noibats and Noiverns of his region adapted to their environment and changed their typing. They can still fly, but they major in Dark/Dragon moves.

Due to the natural disaster long ago, many places and Temples collapsed and went underground. Constant dark clouds and lighting surround the regions where Noivers are born, so flying type became disadvantageous for them. The flying characteristics are present in their genes but became more accustomed to Darkness, so the type changed. Another unique characteristic is that a few Noibats have natural Lightning type moves, like Volt Tackle and Thunder. These Noibats are considered unique and extremely rare even for their kind in that region, but due to the environment, some lightning enters the Pokémon eggs, or some moves their parent Pokémon know are inherited by them. Vik's Noivern has these Electric moves .

Vik's common phrase is 'I'm Venkat and the V in my name represents Victory' so for short I and a few close people call him Vik.

His full team is-

1) Noivern - Dark/Dragon

2) Charizard - Fire/Flying

3) Typhlosion - Fire

4) Tyranitar - Ground/Dark

5) Venusaur - Grass/Poison

6) Lapras - Water

This is the balanced team I and Vik came together.

His Noivern is for exploring inside the ruins and checking for any traps or hidden places/rooms. His Charizard is for recon and fighting off any Aerial Pokémon , Tyranitar for Attack/Defense and scaring off powerful Pokémon residing near the ruins, Venusaur for healing his Pokémon and causing status effects such as sleep,poison and paralysis to opponents in case of emergences , and Lapras for water supply and travelling great distances in case of rivers or ponds and other water bodies, underwater ruins and also for distracting enemies with Ice Beam and Blizzard.

This was the team we built together, according to the Pokémon we encountered in the wild while we were travelling.

After travelling for four years together, due to an emergency back at his home he went back. After that we did not come into contact, I tried to call him a few times, but it did not reach him. Since I trust him that nothing could happened to him, I stopped calling. But was worried for him.

Now he is back and also his usual self. With this I can tell nothing too serious happened to him back at his home.

As I was still reminiscing about our past, I did not notice Vik calling me for some time, until he started shaking me a little.

Vik calls me a little loudly seeing that I am not answering.

"Laila!!! Laila!!! Laila!!!!!! What happened, I was calling you for some time?"

He asks me with a worried tone.

"Are you stressed; from all the challenges you get? Why don't you rest for a while?" He asked again with a soft voice.

Looking at him worried for me, my heart flutters a little and my face has become red.

I quickly say

"It's nothing, I am just remembering about the past and the days we used to travel together."

"Oh!! Thank Arceus. I thought you are stressed from all the challenges and because your face is red, I thought you have gotten a cold. Any way don't get too stressed working all the time and bothered by all the challenges relax a little, from knowing you for a long time I can tell you always work too hard for something and don't take care of your health that much. You should rest a little."

He starts complaining. And before I answer, he starts talking again.

"I got an idea, why don't we go out and tour the Pokémon Theme park that is newly opened in the Orange Islands. We can go out and enjoy ourselves, and you can relax a little."

I quickly interject before he continues.

"Wait!!! Vik don't get carried away, since you came for me all the way from your home. I will not ask you what happen there. But I still need to ask Grandpa, then we can go and have fun. I too need a break from all this battle's and gym duties."

"Alright, then it's decided. But first look at your gifts that I carefully prepared for you."

Vik excitingly shows the gifts he prepared for me.
