The Kid Pirates, Yulie realized were far different from the Heart Pirates. They were hostile, untrusting and overly violent. But, they steered away from her when she offered her help to heal their captain. Whom Yulie realized was very much like them. He sneered at her at her first touch to his skin and Yulie held herself back from punching the man in his bloodied face.
It had been four days since then. Four days of coming and going to their part of the port. Yulie didn't stayed with them, no, she had refrained from telling the giants about her helping them. And she certainly didn't trust the Kid Pirates enough to sleep and dine with them.
"Are you going to them again?"
Yulie regarded the giant who was silently watching her as she close the book she was reading. Saul smiled briefly at her before pointing at the side of the island where the Kid Pirates are huddled up, hiding from the giants. Yulie returned his smile and nodded. The next day after she had gone back to the giant's village, she asked them to guide her towards here, towards Saul. He didn't spoke for a day and she didn't bother making small talk with him as she scour the great library.
The next day however, Saul had lightened up to her making her do the same. He told her stories of the world and she shared her knowledge of the current happenings. Ultimately, she decided to ask Saul for help with Kid's condition but asked him to keep silent about it. Saul understood her and helped her.
"Kid hasn't fully healed up yet"
"You think you can drive them out after they had healed"
Yulie nodded at Saul before looking at the state he was in. He was well but most of his body were still covered up with bandages.
"They're probably after you and your knowledge about the road poneglyph. It'll do well to keep them out especially after what they had intended to do with Shank's territory"
That Yulie thought was an act not worth forgiving. But she didn't want to be heartless and drive them away, not when Kid was recuperating from the injuries he had gained.
"I probably should go. I don't want to waste sunlight"
"Alright, be careful on your way Yulie"
Yulie waved Saul goodbye and walked the path towards the Kid Pirates. She had been in Elbaf for four days and so far the knowledge she acquired made her head hurt. Most devil fruit users can't awaken their powers as fast as she did with hers. That was why Law was curious of her butterflies. And it was utterly impossible to breed the butterflies exactly how she had done it. Yulie massaged her temple and let out a sigh.
Other than that, the revelation that Dr. Vegapunk had spouted upon his death was not complete nonsense. No, it was the truth, the whole truth she had thought. In a few years their world would be swallowed up by the sea.
"I told you to get that damn thing off of me"
Yulie stopped walking at the familiar growl and hiss that had come from beyond the forest. She let out another sigh before gripping her satchel as she readied herself to welcome what was to come. She stepped out of the trees and immediately got everyone's attention. She noticed how Kid was going to throw away the medicine she had instructed Killer to give to him. Her lips pursed as she waltzed towards him and took the medicine from his metal hand.
"Do you not want to heal? Why are you acting like a child again?"
Yulie held her gaze as Kid readied himself to stand up only to stumble back on his place.
"Kid, don't push it"
"I am not taking that damned pills again"
Yulie raised an eyebrow at Kid before looking at Killer for some clarification. Killer who amongst the crew was sensible enough to respect her for helping them gave her a shrug.
"He said he didn't like the side effects"
"What side effects?"
"You ass of a woman, don't act as if you don't know. I'd rather die than let myself be impotent"
Yulie finally realized what Kid had meant. The pills she procured to help Kid heal had a little side effect that will make it seem like he was impotent. The side effects don't last for more than a week. She rolled her eyes and knelt in front of Kid, her fingers making quick work to take the pills out. Killer quickly moved to hold Kid's arms making Kid flung it around.
"Damn you Killer, let me go, traitor!"
"Sorry Kid, that pill helps you heal so bear with the side effects for a little while"
"Damn—"
Yulie didn't let Kid finish and shoved the two pills down his mouth, her hand clamping over it to prevent him from spitting it out. Kid mumbled protestingly but Yulie didn't budged. When it was apparent how Kid wasn't gulping down the medicine, Yulie asked for some water. The moment she had some, she took a bearable amount before her lips replaced her hand on Kid's mouth.
Kid's eyes widened as did his crew's but none of them could speak a word of it, not even Killer whose hands went slack.
Yulie never did this method within the days that she was forcing the medicine on Kid. No, she couldn't but not today. Today was different. Today was utterly unbearable for her. Not when memories of Law and her keep on drowning her senses and flooding her mind. She was feeling every bit of regret on not telling Law how she felt and that was killing her. Today was different because she wanted to fly out of Elbaf and run after Law.
That's why she wanted a distraction. Something to make her remember that her world didn't revolve around Law alone.
She held Kid's shoulders and pushed the pill down with her tongue, the water helping her. Barely tasting his mouth that was too dry for her taste, she sighed on his mouth as he finally gulped down the medicine. She stared at Kid's eyes before pulling away from him, her mouth glistening with the liquid she had downed.
Yulie cleared her throat making everyone go back to their senses.
"I'll go and change the other's bandages"
She announced before stalking away from the red-haired brute and their conscious crewmates who could only stare at her as she walk inside the ship where some of their heavily injured crewmates lay.
