Chapter 17: Cocoyashi Village V

His subordinates grinned creepily, and one of them raised his gun, pointing it towards Genzo while others walked towards Nojiko.

"Nojiko, run! I'll block them for you and get help from the others," Genzo fought and protected Nojiko, using himself as a shield.

"But..." Nojiko wanted to refute, but Genzo looked at her seriously.

"Don't be stubborn. Just run and get help from the others or go to my house; there is a Den Den Mushi connected to the Marine Headquarters public line. Tell them what this scum and his subordinate are doing," Genzo said to her while trying his best to restrain the Marine.

When the marine captain heard what Genzo said, he yelled at his subordinates and ordered them.

"Shoot him and don't let that woman go, or else I'll kill you all by myself."

One of his subordinates clicked the trigger of the gun, and...

*Boom*

A woman appeared in front of Genzo and blocked the incoming shot. She had orange hair, a slim body, and brown eyes.

"Ugh!" The orange-haired woman was shot in her shoulder.

Genzo and Nojiko were shocked by the person who blocked the gunshots, and they yelled at the same time.

"NAMI!"

Lucifer's point of view:

I'm watching Nami from afar as she heads home. After a few minutes, I sense a group of people cornering two individuals—a middle-aged man and a young woman.

Then, after another few minutes of running, I see Nami looking at the group of marines cornering her sister and her mother's friend, who also acts as a father figure to her. She stands there in shock and runs towards her mother's friend. Suddenly, I hear gunshots. Despite my observation haki, I didn't anticipate it. I look at where the sounds come from and see Nami's shoulder bleeding as she blocks the gunshots aimed at her mother's friend.

I hear her shout in pain. I don't know why, but I momentarily stand still. After regaining my senses, I teleport in front of her, using my devil fruit power to remove the bullet. I take clean clothes and a disinfectant liquid I bought in the Foosha Village.

I apply the disinfectant to her wound and use the clothes to cover it, preventing the blood from coming out. Then, I look at the marines who pulled the trigger and use my devil fruit power to disrupt the internal organs of the one who shot. He falls suddenly, lifeless, and the other marines are left startled and confused.

Third person point of view:

The marines focus on the man who appeared in front of them. Nezumi, the captain of the marines, looks at him. Nezumi and the rest of the marines know that the one who caused their comrade's death was the doing of that man. They look at the young man with black hair and blue eyes.

"Who are you?" Nezumi asks the young man, but he is ignored.

The young man doesn't even look at them and focuses his attention on the wounded orange-haired girl.

"Are you okay, Nami?" The young man asks the lady.

"Yeah, and thanks for coming immediately, Lucifer," Nami says to the young man, whose name is Lucifer. She then hears her sister and mother's friend asking too.

"You okay, Nami?" Asked the middle-aged man.

"Are you really okay, sister?" The blue-haired woman asks her too.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Though it's kinda hurt, but it's endurable," Nami looks at the two of them and adds, "Don't worry, Nojiko and Genzo." She reassures them.

"Are you all DEAF?" Roars Nezumi. He is angered because he called them many times, but they ignored him. He looks at the four people in front of him with anger and frustration. Then, he hears Lucifer's voice.

"Right! There is still a mouse. Nami, take your sister and that man out of here. It will be chaotic," Lucifer looks at Nami and instructs her to leave.

"Okay, and be sure to be safe. Sister, Genzo, let's leave this place and let my friend solve this mess," Nami looks at her sister and mother's friend, and after saying those words, they leave. Nami looks at Lucifer once more and nods at him.

They go inside the house and watch Lucifer from the windows.

"Chichichi, now that they are in a safe place, you can focus your attention on me. I'll ask once more, Who are you?" Nezumi squints his eyes and looks at the young man, asking him.

"A nobody and the one who will put an end to all your rotten doings," Lucifer looks at Nezumi.

"Chichichi. Do you have the strength to do that?" Nezumi laughs. Despite one of his companions dying, he doesn't have any evidence that the man in front of him is the one who did it. Maybe, because of the sudden appearance of the man, his companion had a heart attack. Besides, he knows that his deceased companion had some complications in his heart.

"Look at your back," Lucifer smiles and says to him.

Nezumi gets a bad feeling about what the young man said. He turns and looks at his back, seeing all his subordinates lying on the ground. No breathing pattern can be seen, meaning that all of them are dead.

He is in horror at what he witnesses. He looks at the young man again, with no anger and frustration in his eyes but with fear. He doesn't know why he is suddenly having trouble breathing. He falls, and his knees are the only ones supporting his body. He punches his chest, trying to solve his breathing problem, but to no avail, he couldn't ease it. He looks once again at the young man. He sees him smiling, and if everybody saw his smile, they would only think how dazzling he is. But to him, his smile is like a devil looking at his toy.

"S...to..p...wha...t...are...you doing?" Nezumi says to the young man with difficulty breathing.

"I didn't do anything, so why should I stop?" Lucifer's smile gracefully unfolds as he looks down upon Nezumi, who kneels before him.

Nezumi, gazing at the young man, finds himself breathless, succumbing to a final moment where he departs. His body falls and becomes a lifeless corpse.

Lucifer looks at the corpse, then he uses his devil fruit power to teleport all of them to the depths of the ocean.

After teleporting the corpses, he senses another group of people 'or should I call them fishmen' coming.

"Looks like someone is already here, and where is Nezumi and his lackeys?" A fishmen with blue skin and a pointed nose says while looking at the young man in front of Nami's house. He doesn't recognize the young man, as he is a new face for him.
