Chapter 4: This is the Dark Side of the Pirate World

Seeing their captain instantly killed, the Battleaxe Pirates were left in shock.

After all, he was their captain, with a bounty exceeding 100 million!

Even against ordinary naval forces, their captain wouldn't have necessarily lost.

More importantly, where were they?

This was the New World.

In the New World, only the strongest survived.

The pirates here were not to be compared to those in the first half of the Grand Line!

And the Battleaxe Pirates had long faced all kinds of hardships. Their strength might not have been top-notch, but they had managed to hold their ground in the New World. However, even so, the Battleaxe captain couldn't last a single round against Lin Yan. Heads were rolling, and the pirates looked as if they had seen a ghost, their eyes bulging in disbelief, their faces practically screaming 'impossible.'

Equally shocked were the women who had been abducted. Believing they were doomed to a grim fate, they couldn't have imagined that at their most desperate moment, Lin Yan would appear, bringing them hope.

After a brief moment of shock and awe, the Battleaxe crew's faces turned to anger.

"Let's go together and avenge our boss!"

"Kill him, kill him!"

"Attack!"

The Battleaxe Pirates, eyes bloodshot and heads heated, surged forward with weapons in hand, full of killing intent. Their faces reflected their hatred towards Lin Yan.

Unfortunately, against absolute strength, some things simply cannot be overcome by mere hot-bloodedness.

"1 Million Volts!" Lin Yan commanded, holding thunder in one hand as he punched forward. The Goro Goro no Mi fruit was activated, instantly enveloping the entire Battleaxe crew.

"Plop!" "Plop!"

Unable to withstand the impact of the thunder, the Battleaxe members were violently struck by the lightning. Screams of pain filled the air as they fell to the ground, one after another. Thunder swept through, leaving the entire ship charred, and wherever it passed, nothing was left alive. The tremendous thunder was about to tear them apart.

"You... are you a Devil Fruit user?" the vice-captain asked in disbelief as he looked at Lin Yan. "Sir... we don't seem to know each other... Why are you targeting us? Who are you?"

The other crew members, despite trembling with fear after witnessing Lin Yan's power, mustered their courage and shouted:

"Does it matter who I am? You're just ants beneath my feet!" Lin Yan remained calm, his indifferent gaze sweeping over them one by one.

"What... what do you want to do?" the vice-captain asked, trembling. He realized that today, their Battleaxe crew had provoked an extraordinary existence.

"Didn't I already tell you? I'm here to use your heads on a stake!" Lin Yan said.

He no longer wanted to waste words with them. Slowly raising his hand, he closed it into a fist. The thunder in the air suddenly began to compress, gathering towards the Battleaxe crew. The group in front of him could no longer bear the pressure from the Goro Goro no Mi.

"Splurt!" "Splurt!"

Directly hit by the Goro Goro fruit, they exploded on the spot, turning into a bloody mist that dissipated in the air. The sea breeze blew, dispersing the blood mist. In less than half a minute, the Battleaxe Pirates were wiped out!

"Congratulations, host, for hunting down a pirate with a bounty exceeding 100 Million, earning 10 lures!" the system's prompt came, signifying the completion of Lin Yan's mission. However, he paid no attention to this, instead turning his attention to the group of frightened girls he had rescued. Lin Yan sighed, aware that similar incidents occur daily around the world. This is the unknown side of the Pirate King's grand world.

"You are safe now, leave this place!" Lin Yan said as he unlocked their shackles.

"Can... can we really go back?" one girl, her face mottled with bloodstains, asked.

"They have all been taken care of, no one will disturb you anymore," Lin Yan reassured her.

Upon hearing this, the girls, although teary-eyed, gradually calmed down.

"Thank... thank you..." they expressed in feeble voices.

"You're welcome," Lin Yan replied. After rescuing them, he planned to leave. Even though he had saved this group of girls, it did not change the fact that their village had been invaded by pirates. He sighed deeply.

Just as Lin Yan was about to leave, one girl called out to him. "Um... benefactor, you saved us... can you tell us your name?"

Lin Yan paused as he walked away. Facing away from them, he simply said, "Lin."

As the words fell, a light breeze swept by, and the mysterious man before them disappeared into the sea breeze.
