Chapter 320: Rescuing a Lord, Killing a Lord

The man proceeded to give a heartwarming speech.

Or at least, that's what it sounded to her. Vivi was missing a lot of context here.

But the people surrounding the place, what she now realized might be a prison, looked very moved and ready to storm the area down and rescue their former Lord.

The armed guards protecting the gates were starting to get nervous.

"Are you listening, Orochi?." Lord Yasue shouted.

"The vast expanse of trees, bushes, rivers, and villages….you tainted it all with your boundless greed!...you are nothing more than a pest!."

"How dare you, Yasue!" 

Vivi heard an enraged voice coming from behind.

People were pushed aside by armed men escorting someone who stood on top of a gold palanquin.

"Damn you, Yasue!, I will shoot you full of holes for that comment alone!." The Palanquin man said.

"So you came at last, Orochi… it's been a long time." Yasue said.

"Any last words?." The man called Orochi pulled out some sort of rifle and pointed it at Lord Yasue from the top of the palanquin.

"Orochi, I have no words to give you, other than this…there will come a day when you will have to pay for all the harm you have done to this country and its people. Of that…you can be sure. I just regret not being there to see it with my own eyes."

"Daddy!" His daughter shouted with despair.

"Cover the children's eyes!. The last Daymyio that served the Kouzuki…the frivolous flattered from Ebisu Town will now make his way to the other world!. Let us all sing together. Here we go!"

"Yasueee!" Orochi pointed his rifle and without a moment of hesitation…he shot. Five iron pellets came out of the barrel and flew towards Yasue.

Everyone watching was expecting to see their former Lord killed in front of them.

But much to their confusion….that this not happened.

Instead, they saw a shield made of some translucent material, appear in front of Lord Yasue and block the bullets.

"What is that?"

"Where did it come from?"

"Lord Yasue, are you okay?"

"Daddy!"

"I'm…still alive?..." Yasue himself was the most confused of them all.

"Who dares interfere?" Orochi screamed.

"Stop laughing, you lowlifes!" He shouted at the crowd, who could do nothing but laugh, thanks to him.

"Hmph…trying to kill a man in front of his daughter…how vile can you be," Vivi said in the same manner she was used to hearing Zoro speak. It seemed fitting at the moment.

"Who goes there?!, reveal yourself!" Orochi demanded while looking at the crowd of people.

The mob opened up to reveal the figure of a young girl with long blue hair and a simple grey kimono.

She was holding a massive rifle made of ice, and it was already pointed directly at Orochi's head.

The Lord's expression immediately to one of panic.

"W-wait, you cant d-"

Vivi pulled the trigger before anyone could react, and the next instant, Orochi's head exploded into a rain of gore.

"No last words for you..." She said.

The swordsmen guards around the palanquin shouted in horror.

"No!"

"We couldn't protect the lord…"

"Do you have any idea of what have you done?" A man with long blue hair glared at Vivi.

"Are you really going to defend that man until the end?, I barely knew him and already pissed me off enough to kill him…if he has been ruling this place for long, I can only imagine his deeds." Vivi told him.

"A samurai does not choose their Lord… We just serve." The man said.

"You are a tool then, not a man…however if you want to avenge your boss go ahead and fight me." Vivi had no patience for this kind of mindless followers.

The group of three armed guards who had been protecting the gate of the prison, came rushing at her back.

Vivi did not even turn around.

Three spikes of ice protruded from her back and extended as fast as bullets, piercing the heads of the three men with perfect precision.

This made the samurai in the front and the other guards, hesitate for a moment.

"Scared?" Vivi raised an eyebrow.

"You are one of those ability users, like the gifters." The samurai said,

"Do me a favor and don't compare me with those ridiculous people." Vivi sounded very much offended.

"Let's all attack together", she can't possibly beat all six of us!" One of the guardsmen said.

The men drew out their swords and roared before rushing at her. 

She noticed that they at least had coated their weapons with armament haki, showing that all of them were at least competent fighters. 

Vivi pointed her rifle forward, aiming at the man in the middle.

They all thought she was only planning on taking that down, which would allow the rest to reach her position.

But then…the barrel transformed into five barrels, each one aimed at one opponent.

"Wait!"

Only one of them had time to say anything before she took the shot, and killed the five men who tried to attack her.

She glanced at the samurai, who did not move from his spot next to the palanquin. He seemed to be hesitant about something.

"You don't seem to care that that I killed your friends." Vivi looked back and witnessed that several of the townsfolk had taken down the man called Lord Yasue from the pole and untied him.

The man was now smiling and hugging his daughter.

"Who are you?..." The samurai asked her.

"Why are you helping those people?. What do you care about what happens here?"

"I'm just a passerby who saw something that I didn't like and intervened. Thats all. I don't know much about this country to be honest." 

She only knew what Ace had told them and whatever pieces of intel she gathered while walking around.

"Just a passerby?...you had just declared war on Emperor Kaidou by killing the Shogun Orochi…they will never let you leave."

Vivi made a shocked expression.

"Wait!, that guy was actually the Shogun?... I thought he was just the Mayor of the town or something!"

'Oh shit!, if Usopp hears about this….'
