Chapter 290: Chocolate Town
"This is so surreal." Said Vivi.
"The buildings can't be made of food…right?" Asked Nami.
"I bet they were created by some weird food-related devil fruits," said Franky.
"I was not expecting them to let us get to the port this easily." Zoro did not seem to have much interest in the island architecture.
They soon arrived at the port and a very polite guide, pointed to when we're they could leave the ship.
"We do have someone to give us the welcome at least." Vivi pointed.
As they were about to set foot onto the pier. They saw one man waiting for them.
It was a very tall man, over five meters tall(16 feet) with spiky short crimson hair. The lower part of his face was covered with a scarf.
"Strawhats…you have come after all State your purpose," he said with a grave voice.
"A giant?" Said Nami.
"Hmph, they just sent one guy? I was expecting a small army at least." Zoro huffed.
"An army would have been meaningless against you…so they sent me instead."
"Sorry but…who are you?" Nami asked.
The man glanced at Nami with his intense crimson eyes.
"How careless…you come into the territory of a Sea Emperor and don't even know who the commanders of her crew are."
"A commander? seriously?" Franky was surprised they were already face-to-face with one of the strongest members of Big Mom's crew.
"We are not looking for trouble. Just came to see our friend getting married." Nami threw the same excuse Vivi had told before.
"Not looking for trouble?."He raised an eyebrow.
"Just being here is already causing us plenty of headaches. But first, I suppose that I should introduce myself. My name is Katakuri Charlotte, second son of the Charlotte Family, Commander of the Big Mom pirates, and Minister of Flour, who governs over this island of Komugi."
"Oh…a very big shot then." Zoro grinned.
"That's a peculiar weapon you are carrying on your back.
Zoro glanced at the trident-looking weapon that Karakuri was holding.
Vivi took a few steps forward, getting closer to him.
Karakuri's red eyes focused on her for a moment, then…his face seemed to become slightly paler.
His eyes opened widely for less than a second before he recovered his impassive demeanor.
"You…you came here to cause destruction and…death."
"No. We came here for two things. We can get what we want and leave in peace. It is up to your family if they choose to get in the way or step aside…and live." Vivi warned him.
"Vivi!, what happened to the whole ' we come in peace' thing?" Nami asked.
"That would never have worked with this man. His observation haki is much more developed than mine so lying to him is impossible. I bet he can even get a glimpse into the future." Said Vivi.
"Using haki to see the future? is that even possible.?" Franky wondered.
Karakuri took a few steps back. Whatever he saw about her left him a bit shaken.
"I'll relay your words to my mother."
"You go do that, in the meantime, we can take a look around this place," Vivi said.
karakuri walked for a bit before stopping again.
"I have to ask you not to hurt the citizens of my city.
"Hey, we are not that kind of pirates!" Nami looked offended.
"You don't have to worry about that. We are nothing like your mother." Vivi did not hold back.
Karakuri looked like he wanted to say something but ultimately, chose to remain quiet and leave.
"So they are leaving us to wander the place? just like that?" Zoro found it hard to believe.
"No…they are probably going to keep a close eye on us and if they spot any chance… they'll try to kill us." Vivi could guess what their plan was. That's what she would be doing in their place at least.
"That's scary!" Nami exclaimed.
Vivi held her close.
"You'll be fine. Just stay close to me."
"Vivi!" Nami got flustered.
"What about us?!" Cried, Franky.
"You two are big boys. Take care of yourself. And remember what our two main goals for coming here."
The group nodded. There were two things they had to find. Sanji and the red poneglyph. They would not leave without Sanji but this was also their best chance, and maybe the only one, to get their hands on the poneglyph.

After they left the ship well secured, the group made their way into the close by town.
The place was extremely picturesque. People of different races walked around with clothes that seemed to have been taken out directly from some children's fairy tales. The buildings seemed to be mostly made of chocolate combined with other types of candy.
"What is this place?" Wondered Zoro.
"If our Captain was here, he would go crazy… so much candy everywhere" Said Vivi.
"I wouldn't mind some of that chocolate…" Names mouth was watering. They have eaten nothing for the last three days.
"Haha, welcome, travelers!. First time in Totto Land?" a short man in a black suit approached them.
"Yes…we were wondering where we can have something to eat." Nami asked.
The man chuckled.
"Well then, allow me to welcome you properly to Chocolate Town. As for eating…you can eat almost anything you see."
"Wait…anything?. like, can we eat the houses?" Asked Franky.
"You cannot eat the tiles chocolates that are used for the roof as it exposes the insides to the local weather…you also cannot eat any personal possessions of the people. But other than that, you can eat as much chocolate as you want."
"Look, there is a chocolate fountain over there." Vivi pointed.
"That looks so delicious!" Nami exclaimed.
"Ah yes….the chocolate fountain. You can drink as much as you want. Just make sure not to bathe in it, is against the law….we had some issues in the past." The man looked troubled.
"Never mind, I'm not drinking from there… let's go find something else." Nami made a disgusted expression.
