Chapter 249: You are under arrest!

Diamante a body remained on the cold stone ground, blood pouring out of his mouth and chest.

The entire coliseum was in silence. Even Sabo and Burgess had stopped their brawl for a moment to look at what was happening.

"M-Mister Diamante!...he is…really." the commentator muttered the words, refusing to believe it.

Vivi started to laugh. She found the situation too funny. These people were so deluded that they actually believed that man was a righteous hero instead of the bastard who killed one of the royal princesses in cold blood and helped take down the Rikku Royal family. The only ones who truly cared for the happiness and well-being of their citizens. A quality that was extremely rare among rulers.

Her laughter resounded over the Colliseum, making it sound much louder.

Soon, people started to boo at her and throw things into the arena.

"Are you guys that mad for this guy's death?." Vivi taunted them.

"You murderer!. The Doflamingo family will make you pay for that. Guards!" the commentator screamed.

Vivi saw that Bartolomeo had dropped his shield and was walking to her.

"Oh?, wanna fight too? You may want to hurry. I think I'm about to get disqualified." Said Vivi.

Bartolomeo stopped a few feet away and started to look for something in his pockets.

His eyes then moved to meet hers, there was some fervent intensity in them. 

Vivi got on guard, not sure what to expect.

With a swift motion, Bartolomeo… dropped to his knees and pulled out a small piece of paper.

"Lady Vivi, please!. Give me your autograph!"

"What?!" Exclaimed Vivi.

"What?!" Exclaimed Sabo.

Burgess gave him a weird look.

"What is this?!" Shouted the commentator.

"You want an autograph? are you serious?" Asked Vivi.

"I have been a fan of the Strawhats since your assault on Enies Lobby, but have you always been my favorite member? Your execution of the CP9 leader was a work of art! And then, you guys came back after two years of silence and took down Impel Down. The place that every pirate is afraid of…but not the Strawhats!, and you even went and killed the warden. You guys are th-"

"Ok ok!, I get it. Please stop. Is embarrassing…" 

She was signing the peace of paper he gave her to see if he would shut up when she noticed something…this was a wanted poster. 

'No, wait. This is MY wanted poster. But the picture is different. They must have made a new one after Impel Down….' She gasped when she saw the reward.

"One billion?!..."

"I know, right? I was static when I saw it!." Explained Bartolomeo.

"Is also very unique for what it says after the reward."

She moved her gaze to look at what he was talking about.

A the bottom of the poster, right after the reward amount were the words 'only alive'.

'This must be why Doflamingo took the risk of kidnapping me…and why the W.G would go as far as to give him back his status in exchange for me. Or why Blackbeard was interested in recruiting me.'

This did not tell her why the World government wanted her so badly to offer a reward usually reserved for criminals on the level of the four Emperors.

She gave the signed paper back to Bartolomeo who starred to thank her repeatedly, but her mind was somewhere else. If her bounty was this big, the Marines are going to become a lot more annoying from now on. There was also that Admiral that was coming here to 'retrieve' her. 

'Are there going to be two Admirals now? what else has changed?.'

"Nefertari Vivi!, you are under arrest!"

A loud voice came from the other side of the Coliseum.

A squad of royal guards was placing back the bridge that had been previously used to cross the water and access the arena.

"You are under arrest for the murder of two members of the Doflamingo family. Come with us quietly, resistance is futile! Also, this tournament is officially canceled! there will be no champion this year!"

Shouted the guard Captain.

"Hey, you can't do that, I was about to win!" Complaint Sabo.

"Win?, you?, ha!. I am about to crush you, little man!." Said Burgess.

The guards pointed their guns at Vivi.

"Give up, is your last warning!" said the Captain.

"If you want to get her, you'll have to get through me!" Screamed Bartolomeo.

Vivi raised her hands in the air and walked backward to the border of the arena.

"Are you really giving up without a fight?" the captain could not believe it.

And neither did the rest of the spectators.

Vivi grinned.

"if you are going to treat me like a common criminal…may as well commit one more crime." 

She looked back, at the balcony where the commentator was seated. And we're the devil fruit was being guarded.

The guard Captain looked up too and panicked when he realized her intentions.

"She is going for the devil's fruit!"

The warning came too late. She was already in the air, and with a series of air jumps, she had arrived at the little podium where the blue box containing the fruit was placed.

The four elite guards were armed with spears and immediately reacted to her approach by getting on guard.

Unfortunately for them, they were very far from being in the same league as her.

Four, very precise, blasts of high-pressure water, were enough to push them off the balcony and make them fall down onto the stadium seats.

The commentator and his assistant were all that was left. The assistant went to hide under the table while the commentator took out a blade and pointed it at Vivi.

"You are not getting that fruit! you criminal scum!"

"You really want to do this?" Vivi raised an eyebrow.

"I am no pushover!, I am a former gladiator, I fought in more than forty battles, and I-"

Before he could finish, Vivi sent a high-pressure blast of water that pushed him against the back wall, leaving his unconscious body stuck in there.

"Now… let's see."

She picked up the box and opened up, revealing a beautiful blue fruit inside. 

"Oh…so pretty" 

The fruit irradiated power.

"Let's get you an owner."
