Little Garden remained the heart of a dense virgin forest.
Originally, Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy had planned to teach Gnar Haki. However, at that moment, the island's volcano erupted, reigniting the century-long duel between Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy.
"Boom..."
It was like two mountains colliding!
Dorry wielded a sword in one hand and a shield in the other, while Brogy gripped an axe in one hand and a shield in the other.
Each clash of their weapons sent shockwaves reverberating across the island, shaking it to its core.
The proximity of the battle allowed Robin and Zala to feel the tremors and hear the thunderous roars, nearly knocking them off their feet. Their faces betrayed astonishment; it was their first time witnessing a battle between giants of this caliber.
"Is this how giants fight? It's so intense!"
"He may be Elbaf's strongest warrior, but why are they fighting?"
Null grinned in response to Robin's question, choosing not to answer.
"You'll find out once the battle concludes!"
With undivided attention, he observed the titanic clash unfold.
The reason for his fascination was clear—the peculiar power he sensed between the battling giants.
"Haki?"
Such tremendous impact could only come from a power beyond mere physical strength.
The spectacle reminded Gnar of the clash between Roger and Whitebeard, though on a smaller scale. Still, its intensity was undeniable.
Moreover, the remarkable durability of their weapons—maintaining their sharpness despite decades of combat—defied explanation except through Haki.
But why couldn't he see the familiar entanglement of Haki?
Perhaps this question could only be answered once the duel reached its conclusion.
Both combatants were true giants, fighting with utmost fervor in pursuit of warrior glory. Consequently, the duel didn't last long before both collapsed, exhausted but laughing heartily on the ground.
"This is why we can only impart you with Haki knowledge, and you must master it yourself."
"Kababa, looks like we still can't determine a winner!"
"ゲギャギャギャ, then we'll have to wait until next time!!!"
Under the bright sun, the two mountainous giants laughed joyously, then simultaneously reached for the wine beside them and drank heartily.
"Dong dong dong..."
"It's so blissful to have sweet wine as company after battle!"
"Ah, it takes me back to our days at sea! Such freedom we had!"
Curious, Robin inquired while observing the two who had just moments ago been poised to kill each other, now enjoying camaraderie over wine.
"Why did you engage in such a fierce duel?"
The question left both giants scratching their heads.
"The reason?"
"I can't seem to recall anymore!"
Zala, who had maintained a low profile to avoid attention, couldn't help but interject.
"How can something like that be forgotten?"
"ガババババ!"
"ゲギャギャギャ!!!"
Dorry and Brogy chuckled upon hearing this, then looked at each other and burst into laughter.
Dorry slowly sat up, gazed at the three of them, and spoke.
"That's no longer important. Our duel just now delayed fulfilling our promise to you. Now, it's up to Brogy and me to honor that agreement and teach you about Haki!"
"Thank you, but before that, I have a question..."
Gnar voiced his doubts.
"You used Haki in your battle, and your weapons are imbued with Haki's strength. Why didn't I see any overt signs of you using Haki?"
Brogy exchanged glances with Dorry before responding with a grin.
"Are you referring to this?"
With those words, Brogy extended his arm. Dark aura enveloped it, forming a dark, gleaming armor of Armament Haki.
Gnar's eyes lit up upon seeing it.
"Yes, exactly."
Dorry took a swig of wine, wiped his mouth, and explained.
"It seems you already have some knowledge of Haki. If you understand that our weapons gain their strength through Haki, then it's logical to assume our bodies can achieve the same..."
Gnar suddenly realized something and asked eagerly.
"Is it like the black blade? Through Armament Haki, a sword can be tempered to become indestructible?"
"Ah, you're quite knowledgeable. Indeed, just as a sword can be permanently transformed by Armament Haki, so too can the body."
Dorry clenched his fists, his arms still covered in the dark aura of Armament Haki.
"Ultimately, Haki is simply a form of energy.
Whether for hardening, entangling, external manifestation, or internal application, it's merely the channeling of that energy.
However, the most effective use of Haki is through integration with the body itself, much like tempering a blade into a black blade, making it indestructible."
At the mention of "Overlord Body," Gnar was intrigued. As a time traveler, this concept was entirely new to him.
"Overlord Body?"
The grandiose title piqued his interest, especially when Brogy elaborated excitedly.
"Exactly.
By melding Haki with your body, you can harness its power, integrating it seamlessly into your combat techniques.
This is the Overlord Body! With this mastery, not only can you wield Haki at will in battle, but also minimize its energy consumption.
Both offensive and defensive capabilities can reach their utmost potential."
Brogy's grin widened.
"However, achieving this isn't easy, especially for humans."
Gnar was taken aback.
"Why's that?"
"It's quite simple.
Just as forging a superior weapon requires high-quality materials and extensive tempering, attaining the Overlord Body demands robust vitality and a lengthy lifespan to endure countless trials."
"I see!"
Brogy nodded approvingly.
"Of course, you have a long way to go—from cultivating Haki, mastering its basic applications, advancing to intermediate and advanced levels of external manifestation and entanglement, to ultimately achieving the Overlord Body..."
"I understand! Before we commence training, I have one final question."
Gnar's expression turned serious.
"What exactly is Haki?"
The question momentarily stunned Dorry and Brogy. After exchanging glances, they spoke with a hint of admiration.
"It's simple. Haki is the power of the soul!"
"The soul!?"
"Yes, it's the soul's power channeled through the body. That's Haki..."
