65. Shizu

Also, this world can be considered an AU. I tried to add it to the tag but I couldn't find it so I have just mentioned it in the synopsis.

"I was there but I got a little bored," Shizu said with a smile. Even though it looked like a normal smile, but something felt off to Ryuu.

"I see" Ryuu replied. Even though he felt that something was wrong he didn't say anything for now.

"So where may you be going now," Shizu asked Ryuu after all he had become quite famous.

"Dwargon, I want to get some armor for myself," Ryuu replied truthfully after all there is no reason to hide it from Shizu.

"Dwargon..." Shizu murmured while looking thoughtful.

"What about you Shizu san." 

"Oh, me I am going near the S-rank dungeon that was found near Dwargon," Shizu said.

"That isn't it too dangerous. I heard that more than ten A+ rank adventurers have died inside." Ryuu asked with a concerned voice.

He also had information about this dungeon. It was found some months before he came to this world and was initially classified as A rank dungeon but after a lot of deaths of adventurers, it was classified to A+ rank.

Then a group led by an A+ rank adventurer also met their end there so its ranking was further increased to S rank.

This dungeon currently stands as the most dangerous dungeon in the world that has taken a large amount of adventurer's life.

In fact, Ryuu's goal after getting good armor was to go and clear the dungeon. He knows Shizu is strong but he can also tell that she won't be able to defeat the arc demon he had defeated previously which was barely an S-rank threat.

And Shizu mostly likes to move alone so going there is as good as asking for death.

"It is but don't worry I am more than strong enough to protect myself there," Shizu replied.

Getting such a reply Ryuu just narrowed his eyes and looked at her. His eyes glowed golden for a while and surprise was shown in his face.

Shizu also noticed that and looked down at the ground. After all, she knows what he doing that means.

"If I remember correctly the dungeon is in the same direction as that of Dwargon, so why don't we travel together?" Ryuu asked.

"Sure, let's travel together." Shizu quickly replied. She is glad that he didn't bring back the previous topic.

"Well, then why don't we get on our way?" Ryuu said and started to walk.

"Yes, we should get going," Shizu replied and followed him.

They started to traverse the forest killing every monster that came in their way. Well, it was mostly Ryuu who killed the monster as he attacked the monster before Shizu could move.

Shizu could only give a weak smile at this gesture as she had and idea why he was doing this.

They were mostly traveling in silence and normally it wouldn't have been a problem but guilt was eating up Shizu from inside the more the silence remained.

"You have changed a lot." Shizu finally talked. 

"I guess living in a new world can greatly change people," Ryuu replied without looking back.

Another silence was formed in the surrounding and Shizu couldn't come up with a reply.

"We should rest for a while." Ryuu finally spoke after a while.

"Ah, Yes" Shizu replied.

"That looks like a good spot," Ryuu said pointing at an empty spot with some fallen trees.

After walking for a while they reached that place and sat opposite to each other.

Ryuu took out cooked food from his inventory and handed one plate of it to Shizu and started to eat the other.

Shizu who was about to take her food out stopped and took the food Ryuu had just given. Though the taste of the food was very good Shizu wasn't able to enjoy it due to the current awkward moment they were having. 

They ate their food in complete silence, no monster had come due to Ryuu continuously releasing his aura toward the forest.

After Ryuu finished his food he just started at Shizu in silence without saying anything. Feeling his gaze Shizu currently wanted to hide her face behind her mask but stopped herself.

"So Shizu san don't you trust me?" Ryuu finally talked. But the question that came out of his mouth left Shizu confused.

"No, I do trust you Ryuu," Shizu replied while looking at Ryuu.

Hearing her reply he just gave a sigh and looked at the sky. After thinking something for a while he looked at Shizu and spoke again.

"How many people know about your condition?" Ryuu asked.

Hearing Ryuu's question she finally realized what he was talking about. Finally understanding his question she turned her eyes toward the ground as she wasn't able to look straight at Ryuu.

"Nobody." She replied in a small voice.

"I see," Ryuu said and just stared at her in silence.

The silence lingered as Ryuu didn't say anything and Shizu wasn't able to say anything.

"Sigh, Why?"

A very simple question but one that Shizu knew she wouldn't be able to give a satisfactory answer to.

So she just remained silent there without being able to give an answer. Ryuu waited for her reply but got none.

"Sigh, Let's continue to move," Ryuu said and stood up.

"...." Shizu didn't say anything and also stood up.

Both of them continued on their way but this time with a silence so pressuring that Shizu was having a hard time moving.

As they continued to move Ryuu killed every monster that came toward them with great ferocity. If someone looked at him they would think that he is taking his anger out and they are wrong to think so.

Ryuu was currently quite angry, well more like disappointed. Shizu was the first person he met when he came to this world and she is currently one of the closest people to him in this world.

So for such a person to hide her condition even if it had become such bad. Not even asking for help and almost going to kill herself.

He felt like the trust he had built with her was crumbling and if not solved promptly their friendship may be forever lost. 

(A/N: Sigh, this was a hard chapter to write. Writing about fights if more easier than this. I had re-written this chapter so many times but still couldn't be happy with the result. Finally, I came to this, though not the best I don't think I will be able to re-write it again. So goodbye for now and see you in the next chapter.)
