Null Creator

While Null was operating the device, he picked up on the reader displaying the results of Theef's spirit and a color display separating the degrees of strength.

They ranged from weakest to strongest: White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, and Red. Theef had ranged somewhere between white and yellow, a testament to his resolution as he climbed his way up from white along his way.

"How come you don't sell some of your things for stuff that will increase your strength even more?"

Null couldn't figure out what was keeping him back.

Theef took the spirit detector and said, "I've never bought a thing in my life and would sooner die than give away my possessions for worthless currency."

"Then how about I help you," Null wanted to try something out with his control over the spiritual energy.

"What could you even help me with? Is it one of your cultivation methods?" Theef was intrigued by Null's suggestion.

"What cultivation? Are you saying there are others that can do what I can out there," Null was about to freak out at the idea.

"Well, I'm not exactly sure," Theef said while stroking his chin, "What the cultivators do as far as growing stronger is by utilizing a force called Qi through martial arts and such."

Null didn't think that the cultivators' path was the same as his own. His lay in gathering spiritual energy, although this Qi might just be a similar type of natural force of energy.

"Do you know where the cultivator's martial arts can be found? Maybe they could be of use to me somehow," Null figured if he could find a way to advance his strength, he should pursue it.

Theef wasn't the only one who wanted to grow stronger, but Null would have to find a way to improve himself through other means.

"Give me a second," Theef was still waiting for a diagnostic of Null's spirit.

The results had just shone as Null asked his question.

Ba-dump.

Theef's heart skipped a beat after he saw the result of the scan and he dropped the detector on the ground.

"Woah! What happened to you," Null went to help his distressed companion.

"Just what the hell did you do to yourself," he looked at Null with a look of disbelief.

"What are you talking abou-"

"How the hell is your spirit appearing as a red grade!" His exclamation was backed by the lit-up scanner shining a red so dark it was almost black.

This meant that the strength of Null's spirit was considerably stronger than most beings out there.

'The effect of the spirit essence is that potent?!'

Null was just as shocked as he understood exactly what might have caused this.

"I think I know a way to make you just as strong as me."

If Null could use the spiritual essence for himself, the effects should work on others he figured.

Before Null could fully elucidate his statement, he noticed a new scan on the device.

"What's more, I think we have company," he pointed at the reader now showing an orange visual.

Instead of the humanoid outline of the two, a large mass of energy was detected from the planet at last!

"Why would this empty rock possess a spirit? A typical orange rank planet would be flourishing with life and resources!"

Because Theef hadn't seen the previous state of the planet before its reconstruction, he had no idea the horror that resided underneath his feet.

"So, planets can just have spirits! How does that even work? Is it alive now?"

Null fired of questions without pause.

Theef grabbed Null by the shoulders and stared him point blank.

"Just what happened here," he asked solemnly.

Noting the hint of fear in his voice, Null answered truthfully.

"I was the sole survivor of the end of this world. I didn't understand at the time, but the moment the tear appeared, spiritual energy rushed in like crazy."

Theef was beginning to put things together somewhat, but there was something about the whole ordeal that bugged him.

'If there was a ton of spiritual energy then it makes sense of how this place got its spirit. But there was no mass of spiritual energy where I was so there must have been some other party involved.

"Listen to me friend, whatever's going on here is beyond our strength," Theef weighed over his choice of words.

"Beings capable of tearing the fabric of space are one of the most dangerous kinds of foe. They can appear from anywhere so they must be keeping an eye on us."

Null couldn't help but feel sorry for the ignorant guy, for he knew exactly what was happening now.

'That dirty roach is still trying to crawl his way back,' he was almost destroyed upon realizing.

There was no time to waste as Null hastily took a meditative stance to try and see if he could work something out.

All the while, "What's up with you all of a sudden?"

Theef could only sigh in defeat.

Null was already fully invested in a method to destroy the spirit of the planet to prevent any chance of his predecessor achieving his goal.

No longer would he let this threat loom over his shoulders.

Fwoosh!

HIs figure erupted in a bursting flare of cosmic aura and his eyes shot open as he roared to the sky!

Within the milky white aura, Null's hands were covered in pitch black flames. He then took his palms and thrust them into the ground where the black flames spread like wildfire across the surface of the planet.

Clouds rapidly took form in the sky as the world became enshrouded by a raging thunderstorm. A furious wind tore through the air and cleared out all of the fire.

With the cover of the flames extinguished, a figure could be seen where nothing was previously seen.

The spirit of the planet manifested as Null once more— like a ghost whose grudge would never fade.

"Null is he who defies the creator," the voice spoke clearly and direct this time.

Null wasn't having any of it, "Null is the creator, destroyed at the hands of his own creation."
