Chapter*Five:Stubborn

Devanie's POV

"Can't I just give you a nickname?" Pryer whined again for the tenth time this morning. Pryer was in my math class, science class, and my history class. He even choose to sit himself at our lunch table.

He forced himself in conversations. He included himself in anything and everything he wanted. But it was Monday. His week of making me fall in love with him has failed, and now he has to give me my 30$. There were no other exceptions.

"No you can't give me a nickname." I sighed as I rolled my eyes at him. We weren't friends either. He just couldn't seem to get that in his head.

"How about Devie?"

"No."

"Devan?"

"Nope."

"Dev?"

"Nuh-uh."

"Nie-nie?"

"Would you quit already?" I yelled finally snapping my head towards him. He smirked at me again and that's when I realized he was doing this just because h felt like it. "Devie it is then." He grinned happily and turned his head towards the front of the classroom.

The bell had rang shortly after, and it was time for lunch. I started heading towards Voya's classroom when I noticed I was getting stares. I turned my head to see that Pryer was casually following me down the hall. "Why are you following me?"

"I owe you 30$ remember?" He pulled three ten dollar bills out of his pocket and handed them to me. I happily accepted the money and turned around, ready to walk away. I had the beautiful image in my head that I won't be involved in anything Pryer Wyatt does.

"Devie wait!" Pryer grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him. "You are very interesting. I've learned that I can't always have what I want, sadly, but your stubborn and I don't like it. I'm going to make you fall in love with me and there's nothing you can do about it." As soon as he said that every girl in the hallway started to make a loud cluster of noise.

My whole body felt like a volcano. My face felt extremely hot as I stared into Pryer's dark eyes. He wore a smirk on his face and seemed to be getting closer and closer to my face. I was about to explode with anger.

"Just kiss already!" Voya stood in the hallway with visible excitement on her face.

Pryer let go of my arm and walked away like nothing happened.

I turned my full body towards Voya as the hallway began to clear. I started pulling my hoodie back in forth to fan my body. "So now even though the week's ended, he's going to make you fall in love with him either way?" Voya asked as her hyper eyes pierced through my soul.

I nodded my head and looked to side in embarrassment. Why did this have to happen? Especially to me? "I support his decision 100%."She smiled widely as she put a thumbs up.

Um. What?

"Why are you agreeing with him? He's annoying." I said completely changing the topic. "Their's nothing wrong with love and I'm sure he'll give up real soon knowing how stubborn you are." Voya linked her arm with mine and we walked towards the cafeteria. I have a weird feeling that someone's watching me.

But this time it feels like more than 50 people were looking at me. Voya and I approached the lunch line to receive whatever they called chicken nuggets. Don't get me wrong I love chicken nuggets, it's just that I refuse to eat ones that are still cold and taste like mush on the inside.

"This is going to be so fun!" Voya exclaimed as she grabbed her plate of food.

"What's going to be fun?"

"The Fall of Devanie Cooper. It has a ring to it doesn't it? Or should I say Devanie Wyatt--" I smacked Voya's arm making her pout.

"Ay yo Cooper!"

I turned my head in horror as Noah and Fia approached Voya and I.

"Hey Devanie, hey Voya~." Fia said as he kept his eyes on Voya who instantly went quiet girl mode. Why do those guys have to show up everywhere? "How about you let us sit with you guys again?" Noah smiled as he snaked his arm over my shoulder. I immediately flicked his arm off and rolled my eyes.

"No."

"Alright then it's settled we're going to be stuck like glue right Voya?" Fia questioned as he leaned extremely close to Voya's face. In response Voya panicked and ran away to our table.

I followed her to our table when I suddenly felt someone's hand on my waist I turned around irritated, and my eyes are abruptly met with a large bouquet with flowers. I glanced up to see Pryer looking down at me with no smile, but his infamous smirk.

"Pryer?" I said in surprise."Did you miss me?"

"Nope."

Pryer's smirk immediately left his face and huffed in frustration. "Why are you so stubborn? Just fall for me already." He said practically whining. "I thought all girls liked flowers."

"Have you forgotten already? I like the color yellow, and I like sun flowers." I glared at him as I tried to move past him.

We were gaining a huge amount of attention while we both just stood in the middle of the room. "What can I do?" He eyes were like a lost puppies as he looked down at me. His eyes were filled with dedication.

Ding.

And that my friends was the sound of an idea.

I purposely rose my hand to his chest and slid my hand down to feel his washboard abs through his shirt. I could feel him tense up against my touch. "All you have to do is not fall for me first."

And with that I turned and walked away to our lunch table. Voya was sitting next to Fia who kept flirting with her and she did not once stop him or look up at him. She just had a flushed look on her face. I noticed that River had gotten here and was seated next to Noah.

"Hey Devanie how's the romance with lover boy going?" River grinned as he rested his arm over Noah's head. Noah did not look pleased about the position he was in at all. I took a seat next to Voya who had worry in her eyes when she looked at me.

"He hasn't gotten anywhere and never will get anywhere." I smiled a little too happily as I sat next to Voya. I pulled her away from Fia who was now getting dangerously close to her lips.

She obviously wouldn't be like this if she didn't like him, but I'm not going to say anything for now. " You're so stubborn." River huffed, not making eye contact with me, but started winking at Noah.

"No I'm not."
