A Day At the Forge

Later that day, Frame went back to the forge to ask Willis for some forging techniques. Willis taught him how to make daggers, spears, shields, axes and a bit of armor plating. Frame chose to practice with daggers until he got a pair he liked, which took him longer than expected.

Placing the common daggers on his belt along with his sword, Frame pocketed the inferior daggers and went back to the inn. After a good night's sleep, Frame planned on making some armor.

Waking up, Frame was once again hounded by players for the better part of an hour before he could even have breakfast. What Frame had as his meal was chicken stew that had eggs boiled in it. His food wasn't all that special, but this was Frame's second time tasting food in his entire life, so he thoroughly enjoyed it.

After his meal, Frame headed for the smithy once more. Using Willis' forge he began the process by heating the iron, occasionally taking it out to hammer before putting it back in. Doing this for approximately an hour and a half, Frame was ready to start shaping the metal. He first struck one end while lifting the other, causing a curl to form as an iron pauldron came into being.

Seeing his success, Frame had an idea. While hammering the second pauldron, he pumped a third of his mana into the iron before he quenched it. Looking at the piece of armor, Frame recieved a notification.

{[] Passive Skills [] Blacksmith lvl 1-> Blacksmith lvl 2 [] Enchanter: Can Imbue Magic Into Items []}

"My my lad, I didn't know you had the talent to be an enchanter." the burly boss, who was introduced as Deako said aloud. "If ye want some better materials, help yerself. But that means that you owe me an enchantment or two for later."

Frame nodded before looking at his creation.

Though the physical defense and durability were lower than its counterpart, the magic defense more than made up for it. Almost all powerful fighters relied on skills and spells to defeat their opponents, all of which used magic. This meant that skills would be less effective on the target, allowing more room for error.

With this in mind, Frame spent another part of the day to make a matching set of magic pauldrons, leg guards, and a breastplate. It was late afternoon when Frame was finished, so he took a break and looked at his gains.

Looking at the stats of his new armor, Frame smiled. After he put it on, Willis asked him something.

"It's late now, so don't bother today, but you should probably try doing the jobs that are being handed out to all of you travelers tomorrow and make some friends." he suggested, his kind tone making Frame unable to refuse.
