Room 301

"Hello?" I shift uncomfortably in the seat next to him.

"Hey? Carlos?"

"It's Dee. He's driving right now so I had to answer for him." I don't understand why I feel so uneasy right now.

"Oh, well just tell him that I need to speak to him whenever he gets a chance."

"You sure? I mean I could just put you on speaker and-"

"No! I- I mean I'll just text him later bye." The call ends and I hand him back his phone

"Well? What did he want?"

"He just said that he'll text you and that you should call him back when you get a chance."

He takes his phone from my hand and starts texting. If I cared about dying then I would've told him to put it down but Yoyo yells at him instead. I sink into my seat while unconsciously tapping my finger on the arm rest. Every few seconds I look at the GPS on the screen desperately wishing that the little blue line would soon come to an end.

"I've gotta pee."

"I'm not stopping."

"Well gimme a bottle or something."

"You shouldn't've drank that coffee."

'I swear to god that if they start going back and forth I will jump out of this car.'

"Just pull over man! I've gotta piss!"

"Stop fuckin' stop yelling. You're in my ear." I can tell that he's getting upset because he's holding onto the steering wheel so hard, that his knuckles are turning white.

"Well maybe I wouldn't yell if you would pull over and let me pee!"

Just as I thought, the two of them begin to argue and yell and my head starts to hurt. "Will you two shut the fuck up?! Christ it's like I'm babysitting toddlers!" I turn around and glare at Yoyo. "You shoulda pissed before we left!" Then I look at Carlos, "And would it kill you to stop at a gas station?! We've been driving for a while now and honestly I could stretch my legs." The car falls silent and I sigh. The sound of the engine and the soft hum of the ac is a nice change from the loud bantering I've been baring with this entire time.

"Oye, uh, there's an exit coming up Yoyo."

"Cool cool. Thanks for stoppin'."

"No problem."

I smile a little as they come to a compromise. It's actually not that terrible riding with them when they act their age. A few minutes later, Carlos stops at a suspicious gas station but my legs hurt too bad for me to care.

I stretch and walk inside. The only other people in there besides us three is an old man behind the counter and some shady looking men smoking outside. When we walked in I felt them staring at me and it gave me the creeps.

"You want anything?" Carlos playfully bumps my hip and smiles. God he's so adorable sometimes.

"Uh just a pack of cigs and ion know, maybe a soda?"

"Mhm," He groans, "Smokin' is a no no, Butterfly and sodas not good for you either."

"Huh, then I want gummy worms, not bears, a water bottle and some chocolate."

"Gummies and chocolate? You've got a bit of a sweet tooth huh?"

"Would you rather I buy em' myself?"

He clicks his tongue, "No no, I've got it."

"Thank you and I'll see you in the car." I leave and the men from before are still outside. They're not smoking anymore but I can feel them watch as I walk back to the car. I give them my best annoyed face and get in the car. One of them looks mad while the other laughs and hits his shoulder. He nears the car and taps on the window. I ignore him and check my makeup in the overhead mirror but he taps again, this time is harder.

So I slightly roll down the window. "Listen prick, hands off the car or you can lose them. Now fuck off weirdo." I roll the window back and and lie back in the seat but the jackass is still standing there. Yoyo and Carlos finally come out and they see him loitering around the car.

"Aye man! We gotta fuckin' problem?!" I can hear Yoyo yell and Carlos puts his hand on his shoulder to hold him back. I can't hear what Carlos is saying but whatever it is, it's working. A little too well, so much so that the man looks horrified and runs off. They get into the car and Carlos sets the bags on the floor of the car.

"You okay? He didn't do anything to you right?"

I shake my head, "No, he just kept trying to talk to me."

"From now on you stay with me. Understood?"

"Yeah...But what did you say to him? Why did he run?"

He and Yoyo exchange glances and Yoyo looks away. "Don't matter now. Let's go Carlos, this place closes in a few."

"Mhm."

I decide to stop thinking about it and take a nap. I hate long car rides so hopefully by the time I wake up we'll be close.

"Dee, we need her name."

"No we don't. I told you I did some digging so I know exactly where she's at." I yawn and stretch out my arms as we enter the building. It's a lot larger than I had expected and there are a lot more people as well. When we reach the front desk, I tell Carlos and Yoyo not to act out of place and not suspicious.

I lead them towards the elevators and press the second floor. Just as the door closes, a woman shoots her hand through and walks in. "Whew, that was a close one." She immediately looks at Carlos and bats her lashes at him and Carlos being Carlos smirks at her and wriggles his brows.

"Mhm, sure happy you caught it chica."

She giggles and makes goo-goo eyes at him while still fluttering her lashes. I roll my eyes and mentally gag. The lift dings and she waves at Carlos then gets off.

"Pft, Dee you're so fuckin' funny!" Yoyo hits my arms and laughs.

"What?" I ask him annoyed already.

"You were so jealous just now!" He laughs again and I feel my face heating up. I keep my head down and hurry out of the elevator as soon as it opens back up.

"I'm not jealous." I tell myself while looking for room 301. I hear the two of them giggle like kids and I roll my eyes. I stop in front of her room and let the other two catch up. "Alright ladies, this is her room." Carlos holds onto the door handle but doesn't turn it. "Carlos?" He takes a deep breath and pulls the door open. Yoyo follows behind him, them me next. I stand in the doorway in complete shock. "What the fuck?"
