Fight.

The wolf-like creature growled as it gave Liam a predatory glare. Liam was scared, but still decided to stand his ground; he was currently in a forest, which means he'll be encountering creatures like this on the norm.

Both human and animal stared at each other for seconds, contemplating who would take the first strike. 

Pouncing on Liam, the wolf-like creature opened its jaw wide aiming for Liam's head. 

Shifting to the left, Liam jabbed his short sword at the creature's open jaw, landing a successful blow that made the wolf-like creature shriek in pain.

Though Liam was not given a chance to celebrate his victory as the wolf-like creature who was supposed to be in severe pain used his claws to catch Liam off guard, aiming for his torso.

"Ahhhh!" Liam screamed as he fell to the ground in pain. He currently had blood dripping from his abdomen region as he clenched tightly on it.

Rising from the ground, he stared hatefully at the also wounded wolf-like creature, an urge building up deep within to tear it into pieces.

Ever since he arrived in the world of Kosmos, he hasn't gotten into any real fights… maybe his battle with the Locusts can be counted…?

'I'm going to fucking kill you!' he screamed deep within as he tightened his grip on the short sword. He would have loved to scream at the monster but refrained after surveying the terrain.

He was currently in a forest region, so doing anything that can intrigue other monsters to come his way would be a foolish move on his part.

'I'll just have to fight.'

Watching the wolf-like creature closely, he moved to the side in steady steps, making sure to watch its every move.

As blood dripped from the wolf-like creature's cheek it monitored Liam's every move, walking slowly to him.

The creature was currently revealing its whole teeth as if to make Liam lose hope of winning. But who was Liam…? If he had the guts to challenge Cuckoo, then what about a youngling?

Pouncing again, the creature targeted Liam's head but failed miserably as Liam drifted further from it.

Not wasting a single second, it pounced again and failed like the first and second, with Liam drifting further.

Agitated by the human cowardice, it leaped forward, only to come out with a similar result. Slowly it became like a tag game, with the wolf-like creature being the predator, while Liam the prey.

Tired of the human tactics, it stopped to give Liam a stern look, its eyes pleading that Liam serves as its meal.

'Hehehehe, I'm going to teach you a lesson."

Taking the lead, Liam rushed to the wolf's side, slashing at the wolf-like creature's abdomen, causing it to flee in fright of the human sudden attack.

It had already painted Liam as a coward, making his sudden attack surprising.

As the wolf-like creature tried to create a distance, Liam twisted his body, changing the path of his short sword with great precision.

"Weeee!"

The wolf-like creature whimpered as it felt a sharp quantity collide with its leg, sending it off balance.

'Fuck! I need more force!' Liam thought with gritted teeth. Though he was swift enough to land a successive blow, his arms couldn't produce the required force to injure the whimpering creature severely.

Having no choice but to keep pushing, he ignored the pain in his abdomen, immediately heading for the wolf-like creature position.

The creature who had just recovered a little from Liam's attacks could only watch in dread as the human aimed the weapon at its head.

'Now I got ya!' Liam grinned wildly, putting all his strength into the attack.

It was a sure shot, even though he lacked the attack power, the point of contact could impact the total damage, making his job easier.

But to his dismay, he was met with an energy wave sending him kilometers away from the Wolf-like creature, who seemed to have figured a way out.

"Ahh!" Liam whimpered as he felt a sharp pain in his back. It was an intense feeling that made him want to burst into tears… 

Shutting his lips tightly, he struggled to raise his heavy eyelids, glancing at the Wolf-like creature's supposed location. 

To his dismay, he couldn't see anything in that direction. Immediately he struggled to turn the other way as his breath became shallow.

Standing not far from him was the being he seeked, its hazel eyes glowing brightly.

Looking in the distance, he could see his short sword. It was a very depressing situation for Liam; as if getting hit unexpectedly wasn't enough, his weapon was also far from him.

Forcing his body, he stood up straight, prepared to fight with all his might, only to get ignored by the Wolf-like creature, as it gave him a contemptuous look, turning to leave.

'Wait! What the hell?!' he yelled in his mind as fatigue got the best of him.

'At least stay and fight me… you bastard!'

Immediately Liam lost consciousness, the Wolf-like creature moved to him with steady steps, its wounds closing up.

"Should I end him?!" Growled another from behind, coming out of its hidden spot.

Not bothering to answer the others' vexed request, it started going under a sudden transformation, a pretty lady taking the Wolf-like creature's place.

"Why would you do that?" She asked as she caressed Liam's cheeks gently.

She was currently nude, causing the other individual to bow his head.

"I'll advise against whatever you are planning, my lady," said the other, its head still bowed to the ground.

"You'll protect him as he journeys to the Heavens Pavilion sect," she said, still caressing Liam's cheeks.

"My lady… kuerghh!"

The other called out but was cut short as he coughed violently.

"Be a good boy… and follow my orders!" She said, eyeing the individual.

"Y-yes!"

"Nice boy," she said, grinning wildly… "Now let me see about my new pet?"

Liam had failed to notice that he was being watched all the while… though he didn't have the ability as his assailant was way above him.
