Chapter 7: Only Me

Early in the morning, Langress started training but the way he trained surprised everyone. Langress took an armored vehicle and punched it like a sandbag. Each of Langress's punches destroyed the metal and made it sink deeper. Langress continued to increase his punching speed and each punch he unleashed sank deeper metal. Langress yelled in anger and smashed the car in half. Then he wiped his hands and left in the eyes of many people's astonishment. From a distance, a group of six rookies were observing Langress, they looked very jealous of him. One guy said:

"Look at him, that rookie just joined and messed up a lot of things at the base. Leader said he's from the Medieval times."

One girl replied:

"Really? He looks so old-fashioned, like my grandmother."

Another guy said:

"But he's very strong, he humiliated Captain Arenyx twice, fought hard against The Betrayer and looked at the way he smashed the armored vehicle. He even had a close relationship with the priest Jonathan."

Another guy replied:

"But I don't like his attitude, he calls us shame when we are the fastest and strongest Hybrid generation."

Another girl said:

"I don't like him but look at his attractive figure. Toned, six pack and big bust."

The first guy replied:

"Shut up, does anyone remember his name? What Langress?"

A very shy rookie said:

"Langress Mcloucht, The World's Strongest Hybrid."

The other guy replied:

"Hey Will, you're the one who understands and talks a lot about him, isn't it? Go talk to him."

Will said worriedly:

"But I don't know what to say to him."

The first guy replied:

"Tell him to stop being arrogant and behave well here, no one likes him. I also want him to respect me because I'm the first to come here"

The others laughed and Will sweated nervously. The top guy kicked Will to Langress, he said:

"You can come with us because you have the best knowledge, if you want to stay then go now."

The others laughed at Will as he crept closer to Langress. Will calmed him down and thought to himself:

"I'm so worried, I joined the Heroic faction because of my passion for the greatness and bravery of the Langress warrior. But here he is, walking in front of me."

Will approached Langress while he dipped his hands in cold water to cool off. Langress looked up at the vein in his forearm, which was turning black and flowing rapidly. Langress suffered and gritted his teeth to stand, his blood vessels returning to normal, Langress said:

"Strange, it happened again. But I'm not thirsty."

Will stood behind Langress and said:

"Sorry sir Langress, can I speak to you?"

Langress turned around and crossed his arms and said:

"Who are you?"

Will replied:

"I'm Will Krok, rookie of the Heroic faction."

Langress said:

"So Will, what do you want to meet me to talk about?"

Will replied:

"Well, some people here don't like your attitude. So they asked me to ask you to behave properly and respect your seniors."

Langress smiled arrogantly and said:

"Really? So who were the people who asked you to tell me?"

Will replied:

"I don't think you should meet them to talk."

Langress said:

"They want me to respect them, so let me know who they are."

Langress showed a sinister smile. Will swallowed and said:

"Okay, let me take you to them."

Will then leads Langress to meet the rookie group. Langress and Will stood in front of them while they were laughing and joking. The leader looked at Langress and said:

"Will, why did you bring him to us? What's wrong with him? Pissed off? Hahaha!"

The others laughed along. Langress crossed his arms and said:

"So you're the one who asked Will to ask me to respect you?"

The leader replied:

"That's right, we've been fighting for the Heroic faction for a month but we've always been considered the best team here. So please respect us and everyone here a little. Start by bowing and said I'm sorry seniors."

They laughed and Langress raised his eyebrows in anger. Will told Langress:

"Langress, they're just joking. There's no need to take it too seriously."

The leader got angry and said:

"Shut up Will! How stupid are you to say that to him. This fucker needs a lesson and we are going to fuckin give it to him."

Langress said nonchalantly:

"Oh it's okay. It's important to fuckin respect seniors though."

The leader smiled and replied:

"Did you hear what this bastard said? Now what do you want? Kneel at our feet and kiss?"

They laughed and Langress clenched his fist and said:

"Do this!"

Langress punched the leader in the face and broke his jaw. He died on the spot. The biggest guy got angry and said:

"Hey what are you doing?"

He punched Langress hard but he dodged lightly and punched the big guy's muscle. Langress punched him so hard that the bones of his arm popped out. The big guy screamed in fear and fainted. The other guy pulled out a knife and rushed to stab Langress. Langress dodged quickly and thrust his knife into his jaw. Another guy died and two girls remained. Langress said:

"Ha, you want my respect? Never you fuckers!"

Langress looked over at the other two girls, who looked very frightened by him. Langress gently slapped them all out and said:

"Don't think I don't hit women."

Suddenly Arenyx rushed over and angrily said:

"Langress! You're causing trouble again!"

Langress shrugged and replied:

"What? I'm just respecting my seniors."

Later, Langress and Will went to see Bryant, along with Jonathan and Arenyx. Bryant wearily read the death certificate and said:

"Really, Langress? What am I getting here? Two death certificates, one with a life-long disability in his right hand and two with minor injuries. This is the third time you've caused trouble at the base. I can't accept it."

Langress replied:

"It was they who messed with me first, and it's true that part of me hates them. I hate this generation of Hybrids, what are they called? Gen Z?"

Bryant said:

"This is a sustainable group and you need to get along with it. You can't just be complacent and cause so many problems."

Langress replied:

"I've been the most arrogant, fierce, and war-crazed since I was born. No one can teach me. Listen, I'm going to hunt werewolves soon, that werewolf prince Josh. I don't have plenty of time and I want to catch him now."

Arenyx said:

"Do you know that boss Luca is the most cunning man in the underworld. Don't you think he has any intentions?"

Langress replied:

"Oh, yes. But he has information on the Predator base and I need it right now. Now excuse me, I have work to do."

Langress was about to leave when Jonathan quickly stopped him and said:

"Enough Langress, we need to take action with your negative attitude."

Langress replied:

"Sorry Jonathan, I respect you, but I don't need your advice. Only me will deal with this."

Jonathan said:

"Doctor Anita, please come in."

A female doctor with a long brown hair came in with a suitcase, she said:

"I'm Dr. Anita Lyk, a human. Nice to meet you, Mr. Langress."

Langress replied:

"What do you intend to do with me?"

Anita opened her suitcase and pulled out a tech bracelet. Langress hastily said:

"Woah, woah. What the hell is that?"

Anita replied:

"Hold out your left hand so I can insert it."

Langress didn't understand but still extended his left hand. Anita put the technology bracelet on his left biceps and activated it. The needles inside the bracelet opened and pierced Langress's biceps, which injected him with something liquid. Langress said:

"What are you pumping me with?"

Anita took out a copper ingot and said:

"Can you destroy this copper ingot?"

Langress replied:

"Of course, there's no problem."

Langress took the copper ingot and pressed it. But suddenly he realized that the copper ingot couldn't be pressed and he felt very weak. Langress wondered:

"What the fuck? How?"

Anita replied:

"This is the fourth generation Anti Power bracelet. Because this Hybrid generation is very strong, but the control of power is still not good. So this bracelet will help control power to a good extent. You are strong but now here you will only be as weak as a Hybrid now."

Langress said angrily:

"Damn it, let me get this out. I don't want to be weak."

Langress tried to break the bracelet but couldn't. Anita further explained:

"The titanium bracelet is especially for you because I know you're strong. And to open it, you can only use the switch I'm using."

Anita held out the switch in front of Langress so he quickly grabbed it but she pulled her hand back. Langress said angrily:

"Damn you!"

Langress turned into a bat, but the bracelet immediately shrunk to the size of a bat's wing. Langress turned into a werewolf again to gain muscle but couldn't break the bracelet. Langress returned to normal and wearily said:

"Open this for me. I'm going to hunt werewolves but with my weak body, I can't do it."

Bryant replied:

"Until you have the right attitude, we'll open it."

Langress said angrily:

"Never. And fuck you Arenyx."

Langress got angry and left. Arenyx shouted unjustly:

"What the hell am I to blame here?"

Bryant told Will:

"And rookie, I've been reading about you. You're very smart so please observe Langress's behavior. After a day please inform me"

Will saluted and replied:

"Yes sir."

Will has left and followed Zed. Jonathan told Bryant:

"Hopefully this time Langress will have a more standard attitude."

Bryant replied:

"I hope so, Father. You're sure he won't be able to destroy the bracelet, Anita."

Anita said:

"I'm 100% sure, unless something destroys it more horribly."

Langress went to the armory to prepare the weapons. Will also followed him, he said:

"Are you still determined to go?"

Langress replied:

"Yes, I am. Why are you following me? Bryant ordered you?"

Will said:

"Yes, the big boss ordered me to follow and watch you."

Langress put on all his weapons and replied:

"Then tell him to fuck his own ass."

Langress left the armory and exited the base into the jungle. Will hurriedly brought his bulletproof armor, pistol and some vampire killing tools and followed Langress. Langress and Will went deep into the forest, they went all the way and didn't stop until they reached the middle of the forest. The night came, the new hunt began, Will shyly followed after Langress because he was physically weak. Langress knew that and said:

"You go home, don't follow me Will, it will only harm you more."

Will replied tiredly:

"But Langress, it's my duty to keep an eye on you, I can't disobey orders."

Suddenly Langress disappeared. Will nervously went on and said:

"Langress, where are you? Don't leave me here."

Will went on and realized when he was lost. Will looked around and only saw trees and trees. he worried and thought to himself:

"Oh no, I'm lost. Langress, please don't leave me here."

While Will was extremely nervous and tense, a hand pulled him into a nearby bush. Wil was scared to scream, but someone covered his mouth, it was Langress. Langress whispered:

"I told you to go home."

Will replied:

"Sorry, I'm lost."

Langress said:

"Forget it, look over there."

Langress and Will looked at a group of Predator werewolves walking through the woods and looked around, looking like they were looking for someone. Will was surprised and thought to himself:

"Werewolves?"

Langress said:

"I've been keeping an eye on them for two days now. They've been keeping watch around the Heroic base. They're probably just in case the werewolf prince comes here and captures him."

Will replied:

"So what's your plan?"

Langress said:

"I'll wait for them to spot the prince and immediately give chase to catch him. I've trained for this hunt but this damn bracelet is holding me back."

Will replied:

"Then you won't be fast enough to catch the prince."

Langress said:

"I know, that's why I have to try everything I can. Stay here and sneak back, I'll sneak up when I approach them."

Langress crawled through the bushes to stay close to the werewolves and Will remained. Will thought to himself:

"I need to do something, but I only have the tools to kill vampires."

Langress crawled up to one of them and overheard their conversation. One guy said:

"We haven't eaten in two days, just a pile of dirty dry food. Where's the prince?"

Another guy replied:

"Calm down, he will come. The cowardly traitor who killed our old king will pay the price. He will come to the Heroic base to beg for help, we will surround him when the time comes."

Langress thought to himself:

"Kill the old king? How reckless is he?"

Suddenly a guy shouted:

"There's the prince! Chase him!"

Langress immediately rushed out from the bushes and strangled the werewolf in front of him, then quickly threw a knife to kill the nearby one. Langress quickly turned into a bat and flew towards the other werewolves chasing the prince. Langress flew while quickly dodging the branches in the dark. Langress looked in the distance and saw a gray werewolf running away from the other werewolves. Langress said:

"There he is."

Langress glided down and turned back to normal. He drew his sword and slashed the man ahead. Langress spun in midair and threw the knife at the gray werewolf, knocking him to the ground. Langress looked at the rest and said:

"He's mine, get the fuck out of here you wild."

The werewolves moved on all fours to hunt. They slowly approached and surrounded Langress. One guy said:

"He's Langress Mcloucht, be careful."

Another guy replied:

"We have more numbers, he's alone. Besides, he only hunts vampires."

Langress said with sarcasm:

"Yeah, sure. Come here."

A werewolf swooped down from above, but Langress cut him in half. Two other guys lunged forward but Langress kicked the one on the left and he pushed the one on the right. Langress immediately swung his sword and slashed their upper jaws, their brains showing that they were still active. Langress thought to himself:

"Ha, that useless bracelet doesn't do anything."

Suddenly a werewolf pushed Langress from behind and one from the front rushed forward and scratched Langress in the chest. Langress was injured but he realized his recovery was slow, he thought to himself:

"Fuck this shit, it works."

The other werewolves laughed and one said:

"See guys, he's just a normal Hybrid."

They all rushed into Langress. They were scratching and attacking Langress from all sides. Langress swung his sword around and thrusted through one's skull. He threw his body at a guy to get him to back down. Langress stabbed another man in the stomach and kicked him back. Another guy bit Langress on the arm and dragged him to the ground. Langress pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the eye, but the others rushed to attack Langress repeatedly. Langress was helpless because of his restrained power, he thought to himself:

"Damn, this fuckin bracelet."

Suddenly someone threw a jar of fire at the werewolves and set them on fire. They were in pain and ran away. Langress stood up and saw Will holding another flame pot. Langress nodded at Will and he pulled his sword from the dead werewolf's stomach, his intestines and entrails sticking out. Langress with help from Will, he quickly killed all the remaining werewolves. Only one last man left, he rushed to Will. Will was scared and pulled out his pistol to shoot but he clumsily dropped the gun. When the werewolf was about to pounce on Will, Langress grabbed his leg in time and smashed him into a nearby tree. The branch thrusted through his chest and killed him. Langress put away his sword and said:

"Hey, are you okay?"

Will breathed a sigh of relief and replied:

"Thank you sir."

Langress pulled Will up and said:

"And where's the prince?"

Langress walked towards the gray werewolf but realized that he had run away leaving behind Langress's knife and a long stain. Langress said angrily:

"Fuck, I was able to catch him. But this bracelet... I can't chase him either, maybe he's gone deeper into the woods."

Will replied:

"Now what will you do next?"

Langress said:

"Back to base, the hunt is over."

Langress and Will then returned to base. Langress said along the way:

"Hey, I owed you a life earlier. Thank you."

Will replied cheerfully:

"Nothing, I'm just worried about you."

Langress said:

"Shut up rookie, I just wanted you to tell Bryant I had a good attitude to throw this bracelet away."

Will replied:

"Haha, sorry but your attitude is still not good."

Langress said:

"Just wait, I'll get rid of this bracelet without this change in attitude. By the way, what do you know about hunting vampires and werewolves."

Will replied:

"Well, I learned a bit about how to kill them. Specifically wooden stakes, silver bullets, holy water but the best weapons are fire."

Langress said:

"Ha, that sounds good. As long as you're physically better, you can become a hunter too."

Will replied:

"Thanks, but I'm also a fan of you. It was your stories that motivated me to join the Heroic side."

Langress said:

"Huh, it looks like I'm a bit of an idol to some people too."

Langress and Will left go and from behind a tree a werewolf eye is following them and disappearing into the night.
