Chapter 1Reborn

A dark void is what greets me when I open or close my eyes.

Blindness? It's my first thought until I instinctively bring my hand to my eyes, just to feel nothing.

A dream? It's my second thought, after all, the last thing I remember is going to sleep.

But, trying to modify my environment, waking up, or whatever random action / thought someone would do in a dream, I find that nothing happens.

Even now, when I should feel desperate and panicky, it just doesn't happen.

There is only calm.

.

.

.

.

After an unknown amount of time, everything remains the same.

Although, now that I think about it, I still haven't introduced myself.

My name is Kuro Shizumatta, I am 17 years old. I was born in Japan and I am an only child.

An average student who likes Anime, Games and Novels.

As I mentioned earlier, the last thing I remember was going to sleep, only to wake up in this void.

The possibility that I died has been on my mind for a while now, but even those thoughts fail to ignite the spark of emotion.

.

.

.

.

Today I felt an extremely weak pull, so weak that I was only able to feel it, thanks to the absolute Nothing that I have felt all this time.

Slowly but steadily, the pull grew stronger and stronger.

Suddenly, from where my perception believed it to be below, some distance from me, a swirling portal of silver light formed, looking extremely beautiful.

With the appearance of the portal, the tug, which before I could not even move, became impossible to bear as it dragged me into the whirlpool.

As the silver light embraced me, so did the drowsiness and a few moments later, I lost consciousness.

.

.

.

.

Snapping my eyes open and taking a deep breath, I am conscious again.

After several breaths, this time shorter, I sink into my thoughts.

"So... Was it a dream?" I softly murmured. Remembering the void, my brow furrowed in bewilderment.

But that was just a fleeting contemplation, looking around me, I realize that this is not my room.

Lifting my upper body to sit on the bed, observing the surroundings.

I am currently in a single bed, which is at the end and against the right wall of the bedroom.

Above me there was a window, through which the first rays of sunlight of the day entered.

To the left of my bed is a small table, with an alarm clock on top.

On the left wall was an empty desk and chair.

Right in front of my bed is a closed closet, to the right of a closed door.

Panic, which was previously being stopped by emptiness, began to creep in, only to be stopped by a familiar calm.

But even before I could think of the reason, I was interrupted by a transparent screen.

[Ding!]

[Time for the Host to integrate is over.]

[Starting the memory load in: 3… 2… 1…]

There was no pain, my eyes lost focus and it was like watching a movie at the speed of light, but I still managed to understand what was happening.

In short, I am in the Elemental Nations, in the World of Naruto or Naru-Verse; whatever you prefer to call it.

The previous owner of this body was 6-year-old Kuro Shizumatta.

His parents died in the Kyuubi attack, when he was a few months old and yes, as you may have guessed, I am in Konoha.

He previously lived in an orphanage, but the Shinobi Academy will start soon, in 3 days to be specific.

Most of the orphans were sent to live in certain apartments arranged by the village, at least until they graduate.

I, on the other hand, am living in the house my parents left behind.

"Sigh…" With a sigh, I dropped my head on the pillow.

Even if there was no pain, it was certainly overwhelming.

Suddenly, other screens appeared, replacing the previous ones.

[Available options:

[Status] [Quest List] [Skill List]]

… Although I can assume that they do the options; it never hurts to confirm.

'Status' I think to myself.

[Kuro Shizumatta

Age: 6

Level: 1 (0%)

HP: 200/200

CP: 300/300

Strength: 1

Vitality: 2

Dexterity: 2

Intelligence: 6

Chakra: 3

Chakra Control: E

Stat Points: 0]

'Hm? No luck or wisdom... The HP should be my Health Points and the CP… Chakra Points, as a replacement for the MP, I guess. 'I thought to myself.

I will delve deeper into the statistics at another time.

Until I can compare it to other people, I won't know how weak I am; although at my age, I don't expect much.

'Quest List' I think about the next option, but I don't have much hope.

[Quest List:]

Confirming that there are indeed no missions, I move on to the last option.

[Skill List:

[Gamer's Mind (Passive) LvL: MAX

Allow the user to think things through calmly.

Allow for a peaceful state of mind.

Immunity to mental disorders.]

[Gamer's Body (Passive) LvL: MAX

Grants a body that allows the user to experience the real world as a game.

After sleeping in a bed, HP and CP are fully restored and status effects are healed.]

[Mystic Eyes (Passive) LvL: MAX

Allows the user to analyze and copy the techniques he sees.

Allows the user to see in the dark.]]

'So that's why I've been so calm all this time…' I thought, reading the first skill.

Finishing the list, I take a moment to reflect.

Just having a system already gives me an immense advantage over others, but with those abilities, especially the last one, I have the opportunity to be one of the strongest Shinobi, if not the strongest; as long as you have enough time.

Even with the Gamer's Mind, there is still a bit of excitement in imagining myself as the future "God of Shinobi".

*Ring!* *Ring!*

Shaking my head slightly, I stop those thoughts. I'm still too weak to think that far.

*Ring!* *Ring!*

I lift my left arm and turn off the alarm clock. I look up and check the time.

05:55 a.m.

"Sigh..." I sigh. Little Kuro was so excited about the idea of being a Shinobi that it occurred to him to wake up at this time and train.

I get out of bed and go to the closet.

As much as I like to sleep, I am not going to waste the opportunity that was given to me. There will be time to sleep when I am strong enough.

Wearing a black T-shirt, with the Konoha symbol in red on the back, and some black pants, I leave the bedroom.

Right outside my room is the living room, to my right there is a table that seats at least 6 people.

A little further back there are 2 armchairs surrounding a small table.

The room that used to be my parents' is next to mine and to the right is the bathroom. While the kitchen and sink are on the left wall of the living room.

Closing the door to my room, I go to the bathroom. It is quite simple, right in front of the door there is a sink, under a mirror. In the corner there is a shower and to my right is the toilet.

After relieving myself, I washed my hands and brushed my teeth, while washing my face I raised my head and looked at myself in the mirror.

"Eh?" I said, after seeing the reflection in the mirror.

Seeing a Good Book turn boring and into a literal info dump but hey let's go to the review. 1-Writing Quality: The book is written well and has only a few spelling and grammar mistakes. So that's already a good thing for me since some love google translation. [4 Stars Here] 2-Story Development: In the beginning it was great, we saw Kuro(MC) Developing nice and interacting more with other people. Since he was learning about his system there was a more "natural" flow of things like getting skills and all. But after he leaves the village... I think even while still in the village his goals turn to become more powerful and that's okay, what ruined the book for me story wise was the fact that things just happened, it became a literal info dump with the MC barely even talking or doing anything. [3 Stars because of the start of the book, the lack of the rest are because of the plot progression] 3-Character Design: Again... Start good, things where detailed and personalities where shown but later most characters become numb or even irrelevant. The MC becomes "OP" but he still is boring because of the plot progression. [3 Stars here shouldn't be a surprise] 4-Updating Stability: We get updates every week, sometimes it was daily, sometimes it was a few times a week and recently I think it lowered. [4 Stars Here... I haven't really been paying attention to this book in a while but I've still read the chapters] 5-World Background: We get details about the background but due to most chapters being info dumps I don't really pay attention to it too much anymore and don't "imagine" it like I usually do on other books, what I mean is mental visualisation. [4 Stars here] Overall:3.6 The story was good, great actually but later it became boring due to lack of decent character interactions, build up to events, lack of hard work or quests that's make it interesting or anything like that. I really used to wait excitedly for new chapters of this book but it died down till I became numb to new chapter releases.
