CH 10: Satori (Part 2)

As he ascended into the sky, carrying Mina on his arms, Isshiki turned to face the demonic entity known as 'Satori'.

This is the being that will nearly plague the world along with its Box of Ultimate Bliss if it weren't for Hagoromo.

But as he observes the entity, he could not help but ponder something.

(Where is the box?...If it were here in this village, i would've already sensed it from the beginning...)

The huge monster then turned to look at Isshiki, which made him flinch a little bit.

But as it observes him, it's creepy smile turned upside down.

"You....you must be the strange force that I sensed earlier"

Satori spoke with an airy voice.

Isshiki was quite surprised that he was already sensed from the beginning, he worked quite hard on his genjutsu for it to also shield his outstanding aura as an Ōtsutsuki. But in all honesty, he did kind of expect this, coming from the monster puppet of the Box of Ultimate Bliss.

"...Do you not treat me as an equal? You have not even muttered anything nor reacted since I spoke!"

Satori pried Isshiki for a response.

To which Isshiki huffed his chest up in pride.

"You are correct.....bug, In my eyes, you are nothing but a small bug throwing a tantrum and venting it against these poor unfortunate mortals"

Isshiki's voice went deep, along with his aura.

Afterwards, he then dispelled his Genjutsu, revealing his true majestic form.

"You--What are you?---"

Satori weakly muttered as he tries to fight against the surging pressure from Isshiki's natural aura.

If earlier, Satori's aura was enough to melt a normal human's brain, then Isshiki's aura was enough to crush even the toughest deep sea crustacean to a mushy pulp.

(Oh God, if I could not control my pressure, Mina here would've died....Wait what is happening?! why can't I control my own body?! even I am thinking differently?!)

Isshiki realized that he is not in complete control of his current actions.

"Mwe esh eke"

Mina weakly mumbled in horror and confusion, wondering what is wrong with the current Isshiki.

She was currently scared and confused about everything, she did not know what is happening everywhere. All she knew was that monster on the opposite side wreaked havoc all across the town, but now she was more surprised and terrified to have found out about Isshiki's true appearance and he fact that he used supernatural powers.

Thus, she fainted from the toll of her overstimulation.

"You are nothing in front of me, bug"

Isshiki nonchalantly declared as he direct his palms towards Satori.

Then, the calligraphy on his palms became brighter and soon a huge translucent cube began forming all around Satori.

But this time, the cube was different, it began turning dark in color and becoming opaque, it also became increasingly dense and heavy.

(W-what is happening?! this is not my sealing technique!! who is this?!)

Isshiki panicked inside.

Then soon another voice inside spoke with him.

(Y-------ou------pa---ra--site!------how---da-r-e-----you---invade my body!!!)

The voice was weak at first, but it increasingly grew louder and stronger within his body.

(No! don't tell me!----Isshiki!)

Isshiki realized in horror.

On the outside, the cube box became robust and tough to the point where it became impenetrable.

"LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!! YOU FOREIGNER!!!!! YOU ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD!!!"

Satori banged within the cage with both his body and his energy.

As he banged across the sides of the Box, faces formed in its wake, and these faces either laughed, screamed, cried and every emotions that came of it. The box further shrunk, up until it became extremely heavy and fell on the ground with a huge crater.

It then started raining heavily, as if the sky finally heaved tears of relief from the huge catastrophe that nearly occurred. The rain dispelled the fire all across the town, and the people left alive began coming out of their agony and started to round up and observe the box that befell from the sky.

Isshiki observed the box that formed on the ground with an apathetic face devoid of any emotions.

The people saw their horned hero in the sky, he was still carrying the unconscious Mina. They then looked up at him like some sort of a God who descended from heaven for their salvation.

And after all of them have started gathering all around the box underneath Isshiki, they started chanting and bowing their heads, signifying their presentation of eternal gratitude towards Isshiki.

"SAVIOR-SAMA!"

"SAVIOR-SAMA!"

"SAVIOR-SAMA!"

But unbeknownst to them, there was actually a second battle happening within the psyche of their esteemed hero, a battle between souls.

(YOU PEST! WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TAKE OVER MY BODY?!)

The original Isshiki vied for control over his own body.

(WHAT THE HELL?! I THOUGHT GOD ALREADY GOT RID OF YOU??!)

The new Isshiki struggled to hold his stand on their body.

As they both vied for control over the body, the body from the outside showed no signs of moving, it still continued floating over the village with an emotionless expression.

(WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU MORTAL?! DID YOU USE AN EARTHLY CURSE ON ME HUH?! DID YOU USE YOUR EARTHLY GOD TO CURSE ME?!)

The original Isshiki used his spiritual power to try and force Ray--¿⊙$%*—shiki from his body.

(No way.... did God just swapped me with him, and not destroy him??)

Isshiki came to his own conclusion in the midst of his plight.

(WHAT ARE YOU MUTTERING LOWLIFE?! DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY SHARING A CONSCIOUSNESS??! I CAN HEAR EVERYTHING)

The original Isshiki mocked.

Ray--¿⊙$%*—shiki did not bother minding the other's mocks, because he knew that he still has a strong grip over this body because of God's interference, and he also knew that Isshiki would never be able to hear some of his inner monologues because those thoughts are native to his own soul. They might be sharing a body, but not a soul, Isshiki could only some of his surface-level thoughts, such as immediate reactions, obvious realizations and such.

His only problem lies if Isshiki decides to use an unknown Shinjutsu to forcefully repel his soul out of this body, which really terrified him to the core.

And so he began cogitating for a solution to this metaphysical dilemma, and immediately thought up of a brilliant but risky idea.

He then flared up almost 100 percent of his purest Yin Chakra to imaginarily push Isshiki's soul into his mindscape.

(YOU-----)

Isshiki's inner voice faded into the abyss as he gets transported into his mindscape.

(Y-es---‐——it-----work-ed)

This exhausted his spiritual energy, which made him mentally tired, but it was worthwhile because he finally got a temporary isolation within this body. He would need to deal with the Isshiki within his mindscape later.

Due to severe exhaustion, his body stopped floating and descended rapidly towards the ground with Mina still on his arms, it seems that even without consciousness, he still kept on gripping Mina's also unconscious body. Thankfully, an Ōtsutsuki's body is built to withstand an enough amount of kinetic force and so he barely got affected by the fall, and so too Mina with absolutely no injuries.

The people bore witness to his fall and were all shocked see their hero unconscious body and they all rushed up to check if their hero is all right.

All of them collectively held their breath in nervousness of their saviors safety.

But then one of the villagers observing saw Isshiki's chest puffing in and out and yelled.

"HE'S ALIVE!!, OUR SAVIOUR IS ALIVE!!"

The villager shouted in relief.

The other villagers then cheered loudly, all heaving a sigh of relief for their savior's safety.

"Ugh... huh?"

Isshiki grumbled as he gets up from his slumber.

He then wondered where he is right now, and he saw that he is currently in a huge but poorly-made tent with a warm lantern right beside him. He could here some people moving and shouting about around his tent, it seems that they might be all working for their evacuation from their ruined village.

After checking his peaceful surroundings, he found the comfort to also heave a sigh of relief.

"*Sigh*"

"Was that all true?"

He asked himself as he slowly check up on his body if everything was all right.

He found that he had no injuries physically, but spiritually he would say otherwise.

The soul battle between him and the original Isshiki not only exhausted his soul but also gave him many soul injuries. He felt these injuries when he found that some of his older memories appeared warped and fused with some of Isshiki's memories of planetary massacre.

"Gosh what was that scene..."

Isshiki shuddered in horror at what he just saw within his head, it was one of Isshiki's fragmented memories.

A scene of Isshiki floating above a catastrophe, it was a destroyed planet with withering lifeforms all over. The lifeforms resembled that of gigantic insects, they were all crawling as they plead for their ruined lives and civilization. Some of them who were barely conscious shouted at Isshiki in inaudible wails of anger and frustration, as they watched their planet engulfed by the essence of death and agony.

It was a truly horrific scene, he knew that these scenes of planetary damnation was bad, but he did not knew it was that bad.

But he soon shook his head off of that worry, he was not responsible for that act, and so he had no choice but to stop regretting for someone's actions. And so all he could do now was to use his blood-stained power known as Chakra for good.

"Hmm...Isshiki is still there, it seems that he still found no way out, good"

The new Isshiki sighed in relief.

Thankfully there is no chakra within that space because if there was then the Isshiki there would've gotten out with Shinjutsu way earlier. But he is still not sure whether the other could make a connection to his chakra reserves despite being trapped within his soul's personal space.

His mindscape might just be a library, but it is an infinite library, though with a limited amount of bookshelves. It is still a space, it acts like a physical space, but a space only applicable to vesselless souls, thus it is a perfect place to entrap Isshiki since he is just purely a soul. And since it acts like a space, creating a rift through it is entirely possible using the Ōtsutsuki's innate space-time gate bloodline limit, though he will not be able to cross that rift. The only ones who could create a rift to go there are other Ōtsutsukis, but that is if they ever knew that he was there.

So in the end he will not be able to exit that place, not without the user's permission.

But the possibility of that bloodline limit being soulbound is a plus, because if it is, then the original Isshiki could just use that to cross here into the physical realm. However, he must be aware that if he stays here in the physical plane without a body, the natural energy that inhabits this plane will corrode his soul and will turn him into nothing if left vesselless for too long. And so the new Isshiki is wondering whether the other will ever use that possible power to get out of his mindscape.

As for the risks involving his desperate action earlier is the possibility of him having no enough Yin chakra to have pushed Isshiki's soul into his mindscape. Which could've given the other an opportunity to overtake him and completely give control over this body.

After a while of thinking, he decided to get up from his floor bed and saw that there was another bed, it was Mina lying on the other bed beside his.

"Mina"

"Thankfully your safe"

He muttered in another relief.

He was truly relieved that Mina was not harmed by the other Isshiki's actions earlier. Especially that aura flare, if he did not have partial control over that then Mina would've died.

Mina did not hear his mutters and continued sleeping.

He then proceeded to exit the tent, revealing a scene of activity and liveliness. The villagers were still working despite it being nighttime, though some of them were sleeping in the tents, those were mostly the children and the elderly who could not help in the planned evacuation. Some villagers have begun packing up their remaining belongings, while some hoped to stay within the village and desperately tried to repair their houses. But the most eye-catching ones are the villagers wailing and crying for their dead loved ones.

"Hey Mori!! Get those blankets!!!"

"Kimura?! where are you? please!!! come back to mommy!!"

"AAAAAAHHHHH KENTAROU!!!! NOOOOOO!!! YOU DID NOT DESERVE THIS!!!!"

(Haaaah, I am really wondering how these villagers will live during Kaguya's reign, poor them, I will be leaving them to fend for themselves)

Isshiki pondered with a sad expression, sympathizing for these mortals, unaware of how grim their future is.

As he comes out to observe, some of the villagers saw him, and then they all stopped in shock.

"Oh my... ITS THE SAVIOUR, HE IS AWAKE!!"

One of the villagers shouted in excitement.

(Saviour?... well I guess it is rightfully my title, though it's not really me at the same time.....well whatever Isshiki's a loser anyway hehe)

Isshiki mocked.

The villager then began approaching him, which made him flinch a little bit, but then he finally remembered something he forgot earlier.

(Wait.....that black goo...WAIT WHERE IS IT?!)

Deep inside a dark and expanding abyss, a creature with black wings floated alone in the vast emptiness.

(DAMN YOU FOREIGNER!!!! ONE DAY!!! ONE DAY I SHALL BE UNSEALED FROM HERE AND I SHALL WREAK HAVOC ALL ACROSS THE WORLD JUST TO FIND YOU!!!!)

(I WILL ALSO SEAL YOU WITHIN THIS ABYSS ALONG WITH ALL THE HUMANS I WILL SEAL HERE!!!!)

(NO MATTER HOW LONG WILL I WAIT, I WILL ENDURE EVEN IF IT IS THE ETERNITY I SHALL EXPERIENCE!!!, ONE DAY!!)

The creature declared as it flares up its own repugnant and dark energy.

And unbeknownst to even the creature itself, its dark energy have begun gnawing at the space within the abyss it is trapped in. And soon, after hundreds of years of entrapment, its energy will begin to seep out of the box it is sealed in. And every single lifeform ensnared by its energy will be willed to think that only by opening and unsealing the box, will their deepest desires and most hopeful wishes be realized.
