Naruto quickly spotted the barrier. Judging by the energy it emitted, forcefully breaking through would be very difficult.
Standing in front of it, with no better options, Naruto decided to give it a try. He took a few steps back, formed a Rasengan, and struck the barrier.
The barrier's light flared up, and the symbols on it began rotating in a specific pattern. Naruto's Rasengan was absorbed by the barrier.
"Just as I thought, it didn't work," Naruto muttered to himself, assuming he had failed. But then, the ground trembled slightly, and a white light appeared where he had struck.
A human-sized opening formed in the barrier. "Wait, did it just... open?" Naruto's eyes widened in disbelief.
He wasn't sure why the barrier had suddenly opened but looking at his hand, he thought, "Could it be my chakra? Because I'm from the Uzumaki clan?"
"Never mind, I'll figure it out later. For now, I'll head inside." Naruto swiftly slipped through the opening, and just as he entered, the gap closed behind him.
On the other side of the barrier was a long corridor. Naruto followed it until he reached two towering stone doors, almost the same size as the gates of Konoha.
The doors seemed to be sealed with a type of inscription. Naruto, wary of using any jutsu recklessly, first tried pushing the doors, but they didn't budge.
Carefully examining the stone doors, Naruto eventually noticed a small indentation in the middle—barely noticeable compared to the massive doors.
Upon closer inspection, he realized the shape of the indentation was almost identical to the jade he had. He took out the jade, which began to glow faintly.
Naruto's suspicion was confirmed: this jade was the key to opening the stone doors.
He inserted the jade into the slot and stayed on guard for potential traps.
As the jade emitted light, the ground rumbled again, and the heavy stone doors began to open slowly, revealing a red glow from inside.
Naruto could sense a powerful chakra emanating from within. As the doors fully opened, Naruto cautiously stepped inside.
The source of the red glow came from a giant transparent tank, inside which floated an octopus tentacle.
The tentacle was continuously releasing red chakra, which illuminated the room through the tank's glass.
There was a seal on the tank, preventing the chakra from escaping.
Naruto immediately recognized the tentacle as being from the Eight-Tails, and the red chakra was the distinct energy of a tailed beast.
However, why it was here was a mystery. Beyond the tank, Naruto noticed numerous bookshelves filled with scrolls and documents.
Skimming through them, he realized they were mostly related to the Uzumaki clan's ninjutsu and other important records.
One bookshelf, unlike the others, was ornately decorated and held only a single scroll. Naruto's instincts told him this scroll was special.
He took it down and unrolled it. The first words written on it were "Secret of the Tailed Beasts."
The scroll detailed how the Sage of Six Paths entrusted the Uzumaki clan with the responsibility of controlling the tailed beasts.
To contain the beasts' immense power, the Uzumaki possessed a uniquely strong life force and the Sage's sealing techniques.
The scroll explained that the Uzumaki clan had originally lived in seclusion, avoiding conflict even though they held great power.
However, as the tailed beasts frequently went on rampages, the Uzumaki were forced to intervene and help the world by sealing the beasts.
Naruto thought to himself, "So, the Uzumaki clan are also descendants of the Sage of Six Paths."
"He divided the power of the tailed beasts, hoping they would help humanity."
"But, aware of the potential danger, he entrusted the sealing techniques to the Uzumaki."
"They lived in seclusion, but once the beasts began rampaging, they had no choice but to get involved in the ninja world."
Naruto continued reading. The scroll went on to describe how, at first, the Uzumaki's sealing techniques successfully suppressed the tailed beasts, earning them respect and admiration.
However, the beasts needed to be sealed within humans, leading to the creation of jinchuriki.
With the ability to harness the power of the beasts to some extent, other nations began coveting jinchuriki, and the Uzumaki clan's sealing abilities became feared.
Danger loomed over the Uzumaki, and to protect themselves, they established the village of Uzushio.
However, the Uzumaki lacked military strength, as war was not their specialty.
"To counter this," the scroll continued, "the leader of Uzushio allied with Konoha.
However, the ANBU leader believed that, even with Konoha's protection, the clan needed to grow stronger on its own.
During a certain operation, the ANBU stole a portion of the Eight-Tails' power and, using the clan's secret techniques, cultivated it, hoping to create a jinchuriki for themselves to ensure the Uzumaki's safety.
To safeguard this plan, they built this secret base, hiding the Eight-Tails' power and the strongest tailed-beast techniques here."
Naruto quickly unrolled the rest of the scroll, which detailed techniques for using the power of the tailed beasts.
He couldn't train in them at the moment, but he studied their effects. "This is incredible!" Naruto thought.
Not only could the technique seal a tailed beast into a jinchuriki, but it could also divide the tailed beast's chakra.
At its highest level, someone with enough chakra could even steal the tailed beast's power from another jinchuriki—provided they had more power than the other, and they must have Uzumaki blood.
Though the latter seemed like a drawback—how many people could surpass a jinchuriki's power, especially among the Uzumaki?—it might still prove useful to Naruto.
At the end of the scroll was the method to control the base and the name of the person who had written the scroll.
Naruto took it and found the central control mechanism for the base. Using his chakra, he deactivated the base's red glow.
With the jade in hand, Naruto returned to where the villagers had gathered. By now, they had set up the banquet and were waiting for Naruto to join them.
Seeing him approach, they all stood and expressed their gratitude. Naruto motioned for them to sit, and after a few pleasantries, he sat beside Akane.
Handing the jade back to her, Naruto said, "Thank you for lending me the jade. It was a big help."
Akane looked at him in confusion, unsure of what had happened, but Naruto smiled and said, "I'll explain later. Let's eat first."
After the banquet ended, Naruto called Akane to a secluded spot to teach her how to train. Naruto himself also began his training by pulling out a scroll.
Since time was short, Naruto used a large number of Shadow Clones to speed up the process by following the methods in the scroll.
Akane, seeing the Shadow Clone Jutsu for the first time, especially with such a large number of clones, stopped her training and ran up to Naruto, exclaiming, "Uncle Kenji, how did you suddenly become so many?"
Naruto replied, "This is also a type of jutsu. It helps speed up training to a certain extent."
Akane's eyes sparkled with admiration as she looked at Naruto and said, "Uncle Kenji, teach me this jutsu, please! That way, I can train faster too!"
Naruto thought for a moment and saw some logic in her words. Akane had plenty of chakra, so using this method might work for her as well.
However, he said, "Your current level isn't ready to handle the Shadow Clone Jutsu yet. Focus on the training I've already shown you."
Akane pouted, "Fine, if you won't teach me, I'll still get strong without it. Just wait and see." She then ran off to the train as instructed, ignoring Naruto.
Seeing Akane's reaction, Naruto couldn't help but laugh a little before returning to his training.
Mastering the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques was no easy task. It required not only great chakra control but also immense chakra reserves.
Even though Naruto was proficient in both, it still took constant practice and a bit of natural talent.
Over the next few days, Naruto continued teaching Akane while also training himself in the Uzumaki sealing techniques.
After five intense days, Naruto finally managed to grasp the basics of the technique.
This was largely thanks to his natural talent and the speed boost provided by the Shadow Clones.
Akane, being a natural prodigy, also showed significant progress under Naruto's guidance.
Naruto had now acquired the ability to seal a Tailed Beast within himself, but he still felt a bit uncertain about whether he could manage it without interference from Kurama, the Nine-Tails.
But time was running out, and Naruto left Akane to train on her own while he ventured alone to the ruins of the Uzumaki clan.
Upon seeing the massive octopus tentacle and sensing the immense chakra within it, Naruto prepared to use the sealing jutsu.
Since this was not the actual Eight-Tails but a portion of its power that had been cultivated through the Uzumaki clan's secret techniques, there wasn't much resistance.
After performing the sealing jutsu, this portion of the Eight-Tails' chakra successfully entered Naruto's body.
However, the chakra was extremely powerful, and Naruto could feel its overwhelming weight, almost comparable to the power of the full Eight-Tails.
As the chakra of both the Nine-Tails and the Eight-Tails converged inside him, the sheer force was too much, causing some of the chakra to leak out from Naruto's seal.
Naruto quickly strengthened the seal and used Wood Release to stabilize the situation.
Eventually, the two immense chakras settled down, but not before Naruto broke out into a cold sweat.
Despite his preparations to use Wood Release, he realized he might be the first person to attempt sealing the power of two Tailed Beasts inside one body.
Meanwhile, at the Hidden Cloud Village, Killer Bee, who had been rapping as usual, suddenly stopped mid-flow as he sensed the power of the Eight-Tails.
He began conversing with the Eight-Tails inside him. The Eight-Tails said, "It seems someone else has gained access to my power."
"I can feel it. And they're also with the chakra of the Nine-Tails. Could it be the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki? But where did they get my power?"
Killer Bee rapped, "The Nine-Tails jinchūriki has got my power, oh yeah, but what's it to me, oh yeah—"
Annoyed, the Eight-Tails interrupted, "Cut it out with that ridiculous rap! This is serious. You need to report this to the Raikage immediately!"
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Killer Bee headed off to the Raikage's office, knowing this could stir up trouble for the Hidden Cloud Village.
After gaining the power of the Eight-Tails, Naruto was about to grab some of the more important scrolls when Kurama's voice suddenly echoed in his mind,
"Kid, I didn't expect you to seal the power of the Eight-Tails inside yourself. You've already suffered a lot because of me, and now, with the Eight-Tails' power, you're bound to face even bigger problems."
Naruto, surprised by Kurama's sudden willingness to talk, laughed, "Honestly, I don't see much difference between Tailed Beasts and humans."
"The only real distinction is that you guys have way more chakra. But I still believe that someday, we'll be fighting side by side."
"From what I can gather about the Sage of Six Paths, I think I'm starting to understand what he was going for. Don't you agree?"
Kurama was caught off guard by Naruto's words, feeling deeply moved.
It was probably the first time since the Sage of Six Paths that Kurama had heard something like this.
However, it kept its cool and replied, "Think whatever you want, kid."
With that, Kurama fell silent, and Naruto snapped out of his inner mindscape.
He gathered several scrolls from the Uzumaki clan, which contained not only many valuable jutsu and unique sealing techniques but also crucial information.
Naruto bundled everything together and thought, "I hit the jackpot this time."
"I got so many new techniques, gained the power of the Eight-Tails, took on a talented student, and didn't even have to go through any major battles."
"If all my missions were like this, life would be great." Afterward, Naruto, along with Akane, boarded a small boat to leave the island.
As the boat sailed some distance away, Naruto asked her, "Are you sure you want to come with me?"
Akane nodded firmly and said, "My father has passed away, and my mother has been missing for so long that she's likely no longer alive either."
"Now, Uncle Kenji is the only one who's been kind to me."
Hearing her sincere words, Naruto nodded, "All right then. Close your eyes now. When you open them in three seconds, we'll be at our next destination."
Ever since she met Naruto, many things she thought were impossible had been proven wrong.
Though she found it hard to believe, this time she obediently closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she was stunned by what she saw.
They were no longer on the sea but standing in front of a large estate with the words "Spring Valley Manor" inscribed on the gate.
It was the first time Akane had seen such a grand estate, and it had appeared before her in an instant. She shook her head vigorously to make sure it was real.
After spending so much time with Naruto, her ability to accept the impossible has grown significantly.
Naruto left Akane in the care of Rousen, instructing him to settle her in at Spring Valley Manor.
Naruto then spent a few more days at the manor guiding the children in their training.
