The End

She opened her diary and began to write about it too. The first memory she had revived. Though, she did not remember that herself but at least there was someone she did remember. Catherine. How could not she remember it? How could not her heart recognize the person she had loved the most throughout her life? It is useless to say that we lose our memories simply by forgetting what happened in that scene, like the visuals but the mind may forget what it watched, the heart can never forget how did it feel.

She gained her memories from dawn to dusk, being in her past and embracing everything that had long passed. Her only concern was to get back her asset of extreme value, which she was getting by (Memory Nutriment).

Within the span of a week, she regained all her memories of extreme importance to her, which were based on her entire life. She ate and ate the food with Memory Nutriment in it.

Sara was afraid, so afraid of her behavior and attitude she thought that Ophelia is under the influence of some bad spirits, some ghosts had prevailed over her. She could not think of anything else as she was not educated enough to understand the meaning behind the sudden changes in behaviors. Thomas did not know what was happening he only knew that she was getting insane day after day in one way or another.

One day, he was walking alone in the garden which he did not usually do. It was almost evening the darkness was about to spread its wings on the sky and cover everything in black after an hour or so. It was an unusual act for him, pretty unusual. He was lost in thoughts when he stopped at a plant reaching up to the height of his shoulders. It stooped him and slowed his movements. It was a plant of white rose, not a single flower in that huge garden could compete with its beauty. It was breathtaking. He raised up a flower and slightly lowered his neck to sniff it. It smelled so peaceful. Every wave of the fragrance bloomed flowers of peace throughout his respiratory tract. The fragrance soothed him. He felt a bit peaceful today. A bit more peaceful than yesterday. Why?

Ophelia was wandering in the entire manor looking for him at every corner. And there he was having the best of his time, the precious of his memories remembered.

She arrived in the garden and told Thomas what she was going to be doing in the town. She told him of her plans. That she is now going to spread Memory Nutriment all over Pensive. He pleaded in front of her, restrained her, and told her that he would not allow it at any cost. She did not seem to listen to a word spoken by him. When she left, he sat on the chair lifelessly. He could do nothing more. The night spread its wings and the candles were lit again. Ophelia was determined to spread it the next morning.

Her door knocked again. Same subtle knock, the same kindness as before. This time she opened it immediately. Thomas was standing in front of her, head facing the ground. She began without thinking "Why did you do that to me" her voice was so low that just he could understand what she had just said. "No one understands me. You cannot comprehend the pain I am suffering from. I am dying every minute, every second, every moment of my life. If you want to know the reason then listen. Your mother and I had grown up together, we were cousins. My aunt died soon after her birth, and her dad died when she wasn't in this world. I was almost five when her mother died. Mother raised her up as her own child. We were together all the time. I did not remember when did get those feelings for her, but…" he wiped a tear from his eyes. "…it was not in my control. She was just like you from the very beginning. She loved literature and books. She found peace of heart in that. I was also in that favor. And then one day…" he gulped a knot in his throat "…one day, I proposed her uncertain of her feelings for me. That is what I gave to her at that moment" he pointed toward the pendant hanging down Ophelia's neck. She also looked at it again but this time with different eyes. "We worked together for the fulfillment of our purpose. But that atrocious world could not let us live. Then, you were born and I thought that there was nothing left in my life, that I had got everything. Soon enough after your birth, almost and year after that they killed her, they murdered her. She was going to introduce letters. That is when she was going to do exactly what you also want. She journeyed to the lengths of the town and made people aware of the intensity of their rationality. I was her huge supporter, and both of us worked. They killed her before that. From that day onward I was left alone, so alone" he wiped more tears Ophelia had started crying too. He sank to the ground, and she too followed him.

That is what happened Felix. He was in extreme shock. He could not decide what to say for some time when some words escaped his mouth. "But what happened to you and…and this town how did the people get addicted to Memory Nutriment?"

"Yes, I met the same fate as my mother, they killed me that night. I was in my bed when everything went black forever. My father had done that because I told him to take my mother's revenge and be my supporter too. I told him to be on my side. I did not know that they would get addicted to it so soon. Because those people didn't seem to have a heart of their own, they didn't value memories. The situation is the opposite of it now. I am so glad that all of this happened. They deserve it. They deserve to be lost somewhere else in their pasts. In fact, I blessed them with it despite the atrocities they showed to my family". "And what about me, my family? I know completely understand your pain but there were some people too, who were not like others at heart only if you could care for them. My life would have been way better. My childhood would have not been as worse as it actually was" he demanded, "What happened to you, you're completely fine?" "Yeah! Fine…" he mimicked in a sarcastic manner "…have you ever wondered why I was so passionate to end this misery. Why did I summon you despite knowing that it is not right? Because you stole my mom from me, she was with me all the time but she was not with me at every second. I can't say for sure about others but I am certain that my life has been affected the most by Memory Nutriment. She was never there, with me. I was alone. She drowned in the memories of my father and abandoned me as if I did not exist" he wiped the tears that flowed from his eyes. Ophelia had the first time encountered him crying after knowing him for so many days. She was astonished by his condition. She had seen that pain on someone else's face too. The same pain which screamed of the person's innocence. "What do you want me to do then?" she asked "End this, wind up Memory Nutriment stuff and go away, take it with yourself".

That was the last Pensive had seen Ophelia. She left and took Memory Nutriment with her too. Memory Nutriment vanished forever. And the town met its Happily ever after.
