I woke up to noise downstairs in my house. I wore my glasses and wore my bedroom slippers and went downstairs. I went towards the kitchen and saw Joy stacking food into my fridge.

"Good morning Joy."

"Oh did I wake you Carl. I'm sorry."

"Don't worry. You did my grocery for me. Thanks"

"Oh please. You for once have to start eating healthy. See you're all skinny and your parents think I'm responsible for that. Do I make you overwork or what?"

"No you don't but don't blame them. They're my parents after all. I can't runaway from them."

"So who was the guy I saw you leave with? Is he upstairs?"

"What? No! He just wanted a copy of my book for his sister."

"But you gave him the one with your number. Did he spark your interest?"

"Oh Joy. You are so exaggerative. He's gay too but I didn't tell him I am."

"You're afraid your parents will find out?"

"Yeah"

"Come on Alex did it but she isn't dead. The only thing they do is condemn her. You have to let it out for them to see."

"Easy for you to say. So why are you here?"

"Knowing you have a big house and I saw a reporter follow you yesterday I had to come over."

"A reporter was following me? Why do these people follow me around?"

"I don't know. I already took care of him. I broke his camera memory card and all his other equipments and also his balls"

"Joy!"

"What. I had to do that for your safety. Let me since Alex put me in charge of you."

"Now I see why you guys are best friends in the first place."

"Oh please as if you didn't know. So will you be going to Alex's or she'll be coming over?"

"She's coming over. A fact I forgot to tell my parents"

"Yayy way to go Carl. Go showers you smell like fish. I'm going to make breakfast."

I frowned at her but went back upstairs to shower and get dressed. I came out of the show and my phone started buzzing. It was an unknown caller asking for a face time. I smiled when I thought it was Alex and answered it. With my back to the phone I started talking.

"Its odd how you change your number quickly. Who are you scared of Alex?"

"Um...I'm not Alex cutie."

The sound off his voice made me turn around in a flash accidentally making my towel drop to the ground.

"You? What are you...."

"Do you do this with everyone who face times you? Cause I'm really loving the view."

I looked down following his gaze to see my towel on the floor and I was naked in front of him. I ended the call and got dressed quickly. I took my phone and saw he sent me a text.

Hey I'm sorry for calling unexpectedly. I just wanted to see your face after last night.

Don't worry. I thought it was my sister. My bad for not checking first.

Yep. Anyway I gotta go. I'm at work I'll text you when I'm done.

I smiled at my phone once I got to the kitchen forgetting Joy was there.

"Who you talking to?"

"No one Joy. Just a friend."

"Hmmm what kind of friend got you smiling like a crush's text."

"Nothing Joy"

She snatched the phone from my hand and started reading our messages as I chased her around the room. I finally tackled her to the ground and took my phone from her hands.

"Wow cutie you can really tackle me with your amazing body."

"Shut up Joy and stop teasing me."

"Oh I won't cutie."

"Oh please stop it."

"Yes Joy stop teasing my little brother."

I turned and saw Alex standing in the doorway with her girlfriend too. I rushed to hug her forgetting about what Joy was saying.

"I've missed you Alex."

"I've missed you too baby bear"

"I'm not a baby anymore"

"You just turned twenty Carl. You're still my baby bear even if your hair becomes all gray"

I smiled at her before I let go. I turned to look at Brittany who was all smiles. She was one of the people who genuinely loved my books and would do anything for me to start writing another one.

"Hi Brittany."

"How's my favorite writer? I've missed you terribly. I got a copy of your new book and by God this is the best one so far."

I turned to look at Joy who only shrugged her shoulders.

"You did not expect me to leave her out as you gave lover boy a copy did you?"

"He asked for his sister."

I stuck my tongue out at her and she did the same. It would have been over if he did not call. Now I had officially saved his number and made a mistake of adding a heart emoji. No I did not. I looked at Joy who only blew me a kiss. Alex took the phone from my hand and answered it. Now I was screwed for life.

Alex stayed on the phone for a long time and I was getting nervous.

"Calm down Carl. She's just going to scare him a little. No big deal."

"I know. Joy this is all your fault."

"How is it my fault when you were the one entertaining him with an amazing body"

"I'll kill you"

"And so would I"

I was about to say something again when Alex came to the living room.

"Carl get dressed"

"What? Where are we going?"

"Not we you. Dan's coming to pick you up for breakfast."

"What?! I never said I was going...."

"I know I set you up so you better go get dressed. Its not nice to keep a gentleman waiting."

I run up the stairs again to get dressed not before thanking her and moving at the speed of light. I also took a hat to cover my face and some shades cause of those stupid reporters. I came downstairs and Dan was already there talking to Alex, Brittany and Joy. When I got there he turned to look at me and smiled. Well I won't lie he was looking drop dead handsome.

"Hey cutie."

"Hhhiii"

"So can we go?"

"Yes."

I wore my hat and shades and we left the house after Alex threatened to cut off his balls of he tried to hurt me.
