The two cried, which made me cry even more. I hugged Dylan tightly. His face was full of black veins, and he was very cold. His skin color had changed, but I knew it was Dylan because of his blonde hair.
Dylan, what happened? W-why? I thought Dykon was protecting you? wait...
"Where is D-Dykon? What happened to Dylan?"
Kho went to Dylan's other side and lifted his shirt. I held back my tears when I saw the bite on Dylan's stomach.
"Sister," Kho called, and I looked, shocked to see the stitches on Dylan's chest.
"Kho! Jerry! What really happened?" I asked, confused. The two lowered their heads, I pity them that they have to Experienced all of this.
(Kho's POV)
"DAHLIA!" Brother Pwat shouted when Sister Dahlia fell. I closed my eyes as the zombies swarmed at Sister Dahlia.
"D-Dahlia," Brother Dylan whispered
I followed Brother Alas when he crossed.
"Hurry, Dylan! Dykon! Bird Zombies are coming!" Brother Pwat shouted as he boarded the bus.
" Brother Dylan " I shouted, and so did Jerry, who was on the bus when Brother Dylan fell.
"DYLAN!" Brother Dykon shouted.
"Run, Dylan! Run!" Mew said.
Kuya Dylan's leg was broken, and he ran limping towards Brother Pwat.
"F*ck! Hurry!" Kuya Dykon ran down the rooftop, followed by Brother Mew and Brothwr Alas.
I pulled out my gun and shot the ones following Brother Dylan.
" Brother Dylan! Hurry!" I could hear my heart pounding with fear. I was scared for Brother Dylan; he seemed like he couldn't make it, limping and clearly in pain.
Bang!
Bang!
"Dylan! You can do it! Just a bit more!" Brother Pwat said.
" Hurry!" Jerry shouted. I dropped the bullets, picked them up, and reloaded my gun.
Bang!
"Dylan!"
I was surprised and stood up, and Immediately hide.
"What are you doing?!" Brother Dykon shouted.
"Sh*t!" I heard Brother Mew curse as he approached Brother Pwat, who was held by men with many weapons on the bus. They are people hiding there?!
"Give us your stuff!"
"Fuxk off!" Kuya Dykon shouted and ran towards Brother Dylan, but he was shot in the leg, as was Brother Dylan.
"Aaah!" Kuya Dylan's scream attracted more zombies. I noticed he was having trouble breathing.
"P-please We will everything j-just save my brother," Brother Dykon pleaded, and the men allowed him. Brother Mew raised his hands while the slow zombies approached them.
"Dylan, Dylan!"
" B-Brother, I-I can't breathe."
I couldn't stop crying. What will happen to us? Why does nothing good ever happen to Jerry and me? I sat hugging my knees.
I miss you, Mama
"I'm begging you! My brother needs surgery!" I stood up and saw Brother Dylan vomiting blood, clutching his chest.
"We'll give you everything you want! Help our friend!" Brother Pwat said.
"You're lucky we have a doctor with us, haha. Bring him here!" They put Brother Dylan and Brother Dykon on the bus along with Jerry , Brother Pwat.
"Get on the top of the car!" A gun was pointed at Brother Mew and Brother Alas, they climbed up.
"Is there anyone else with you?! " someone shouted from the bus.
" J-just us!" Jerry replied. I ducked so they wouldn't see me.
"Take their stuff!" Men got off the bus, approached Brother Mew, and took their belongings. Minutes passed in silence. Brother Dylan is probably under surgery.
I slowly sat and hugged my knees. I didn't know what to do. Should I just hide here? Hours passed as I thought of ways to rescue Jerry. Then I heard a scream.
I peeked and was shocked to see Brother Dykon thrown outside the bus also Brother Dylan.
"DYKON!"
"Hahaha, leave them there!"
"Wait! Let's torture them first."
Bang!
"Aaahh!" Brother Mew screamed when he was shot in the leg.
The bus left, throwing Jerry out, and I immediately shot the zombies near Brother Dykon. Brother Mew and Jerry helped brother Dykon.
"Over here!" I shouted. Alas carried Brother Dykon on his back while Brother Dylan was on Brother Pwat's back.
Jerry supported Brother Mew.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Kho! Behind you!" I turned and felt my breath stop as I fell from the rooftop because i dodge a bird zombie.
"Kho!"
I coughed up blood, my back hurt badly as I landed on the top of a car. Luckily, the rooftop wasn't that high.
"Kho!" Jerry shouted.
I struggled to get down from the car and dodged a large bird zombie.
"Gun, Kho!"Brother Mew shouted. I threw the gun, and Alas and Brother Pwat caught it. I ran towards them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Let's go there!" I shouted, helping them. I picked up a metal rod and hit the zombies as we ducked to avoid bird zombies.
"Aaahh!"
"Mew!"
"Brother Mew!"
"Run away, don't mind me!" Brother Mew shouted while being carried off by a bird zombie.
"F**k this life! Is this never going to end? I'm so tired!" Kuya Alas cried.
I held Jerry, who was crying. I also felt like crying, seeing my brother so scared. We went into a house where Brother Pwat and Brother Dykon were brought inside.
" Brother Dykon gave his heart," Jerry cried loudly. I was shocked because Jerry hadn't cried this hard in a long time.
"If that's true about Dykon," Alas faced Brother Dykon, and we saw his open chest. They're so heartless! They even not stitch Brother Dykon chest closed.
"Dykon!" Brother Alas shouted.
Brother Pwat lowered his head and clenched his fist while Jerry continued crying. Brother Alas punched the sofa. We stayed like that until evening.
"We need to go back to the rooftop," Brother Alas suddenly said.
"But Brother," I started when Brother Alas suddenlly grabbed my arm tightly lifting me a little. His eyes were scary, like he had lost his mind.
"We're going back to the rooftop!"
I winced in pain
" BrotherAlas, you're hurting Kho!" Jerry shouted.
"Alas!" Brother Pwat pushed Brother Alas letting me go.
"Tomorrow, we'll return to the rooftop after Dylan wakes up," Brother Pwat said seriously.
The tension was heavy because of Brother Alas' stare.
"Are you okay, Kho?" Jerry asked.
I nodded and arranged our sleeping area. While lying down, I stared at the dark ceiling. Jerry fell asleep out of tiredness while hugging me.
I heard Brother Dylan wake up and cry.
" B-Brother Dykon I'm sorry , This is my fault! "
"Shhh! Calm down, Dylan. You just had surgery," Brother Pwat said.
I couldn't sleep. I cried all night out of fear and because I couldn't do anything to help them.
"Damn it, Alas! Calm down!"
"F**k you! Who can calm down in this situation?! You know Dykon was our hope, right?! And now what?! His weak brother is the one who survived!" Alas said.
Bog!
I woke up to the shouting of Brother Alas and Brother Pwat.
"If it weren't for that useless and burden Dylan, Dykon and Bob might have been saved!" brother Alas pointed at brother Dylan, wiping his bloody lip.
"Don't blame Dylan; he had nothing to do with their' deaths," Brother Pwat said
"Ha! You're protecting him?! What the hell! Are you gay?! He should've been the one to die, not Bob!" Brother Alas kicked the sofa, causing me to move away.
" S-sorry," Brother Dylan said tearfully, hugging Brother Dykon's dead body.
Brother Alas suddenly grabbed Dylan by the collar and dragged him to the window.
"See that, huh Dylan?! Do you see Abe?! If you weren't such a burden, we could have saved Abe!"
" The hell! Alas?! I said Calm down!" Brother Pwat said, pulling Dylan and pushing Brother Alas away.
" Brother Alas , P-Please Calm down," Jerry said.
"You too, Jerry! If you—" I jumped on the sofa and punched Brother Alas, making him fall.
"Don't say anything bad about my brother, Brother Alas!" I said angrily and Jerry pulled me back.
Brother Alas laughed, wiping his lip.
"Ha! Talking big! Who hid and didn't help his brother, huh?! Kho?!"
"Shut up, Brother Alas!" Jerry shouted.
"Stop it, Alas! You're involving the kids in your madness!" Kuya Pwat said.
"F**k you all! Dylan! I'll never forget or forgive you. This is all your fault!" Kuya Alas shouted and stormed out.
"Alas! Come back! ALAS!" Kuya Pwat shouted, seeing zombies approaching him.
"F**k!" Brother Pwat cursed, closing the door as Brother Alas disappeared from view.
" Brother," Jerry and I called out.
"It's fine Kids. It's better without Alas," Brother Pwat said, ruffling our hair.
He's treating us like children even though we're already 8 years old.
We went to brother Dylan, who kept apologizing to brother Dykon dead body. I couldn't help but hug brother Dylan.
"Dylan, it's safer on the rooftop, and rescuers can see us easily. Let's go there," brother Pwat said.
"Let's take brotger Dykon with us, please," brother Dylan begged. We looked at each other.
"P-please I can't forgive myself if we leave him ."
"Okay," brother Pwat agreed, carrying brother Dykon's body on his back.
"Don't make noise. The zombies are slow, so we can reach the rooftop easily," brother Pwat said.
"The bird zombies are the only problem," I said.
"Be lookouts, you two," brother Pwat instructed. Jerry and I nodded, slowly heading out. We were behind brother Dylan, with brother Pwat leading.
We carefully passed many zombies. Brother Pwat climbed the metal stairs slowly.
"Hurry, brother Dylan," Jerry urged.
We all reached the rooftop safely, relieved that none of us got hurt. I looked around and found our bags, grabbing the tent. We set it up and placed brother Dykon inside, followed by brother Dylan.
"Let him be," brother Pwat said when I tried to get brother Dylan out.
We set up two more tents: one for our stuff and one for us with brother Pwat and Jerry.
Jerry and brother Pwat and I sat down.
"Where do you think brother Alas went?" Jerry asked.
"Dunno," brother Pwat shrugged.
Days passed, and brother Pwat taught us how to shoot properly since he was a soldier. It became a pastime for brother Dylan, who couldn't stay with brother Dykon because of the foul smell.
Brother Dylan turned out to be a good shooter, just lacking confidence. Jerry and I shot birds, making sure they were safe to eat before cooking them.
We noticed the zombies stopped moving when it rained, so we used that chance to get food.
Weeks have passed and on One rainy day, brother Dylan and I were in a food store. After a salon visit, we cleaned up. I opened a chocolate bar and ate it when I heard brother Dylan shout.
"Kuya Dylan! What happened?" I asked.
"Nothing, let's hurry," he replied. But i saw a dead zombie but i ignored it.
We returned to the rooftop, but brother Dylan stopped by brother Dykon's grave. I didn't know where he got the stones and soil; one night, he was gone, and then he returned with it all set up.
"You go first," brother Dylan said, and I climbed up.
"Finally, you're back," Jerry said.
"How was it?" Brother Pwat asked.
"It was okay, Kuya," I smiled, placing the food in a tent. Brother Dylan did the same when he climbed up.
"Dylan, come eat first," brother Pwat called, but brother Dylan ignored us and went straight to his tent.
"Come on, Kho, let's eat," I sat beside Jerry, eating cup noodles.
"Hoo, it's hot," I complained, burning my mouth, and Jerry laughed.
(Ajena's Point of view)
"What happened?!" I asked eagerly.
" Brother went straight to the tent because he was bitten on his stomach when we were at the salon," Kho said, looking down.
Dylan!
"I thought it was in the store?" Jerry asked.
"He was bitten by a rat on his finger," Kho replied.
I hugged Dylan and cried. I already lost Haerol, and now you too? I don't know if I can handle this Dylan!
" Sister, we need to tie up brother Dylan before the rain stops," I hugged Dylan one last time and nodded at Kho.
I handcuffed Dylan's hands, covered his mouth, and put headphones on him. I carried Dylan.
" Sister?" Jerry called.
"Let's go, I know a better hideout," I forced a smile and jumped down.
"Wow! How did you do that, Sister?! "
