Episode 27: Farewell?
Josh's phone went off and they let out an audible sigh, separating from each other.
"Hyung…" Teo rubbed his forehead whilst Josh fetched his device.
Josh handed the younger his ringing mobile, "Here"
Teo let out a sigh picking up the call.
"Yah, hyung" he spoke not as cheerful as before so Josh patted his head to cheer him up a little.
"We just arrived at the place in the GPS, where are you? All we can see is an old no paved road" Teo's older brother said through the phone.
"Wait there, don't move, you might get lost. We are in our way" the blonde reassured his brother whilst Josh ruffled his hair.
"We'll wait here. Hurry up. We wanna go before night arrives." Ramon said to which Teo hummed.
"Just wait there. See ya in a bit"
The younger reassured his brother before disconnecting the call.
Josh noticed how down the boy looked, so he cupped his cheek and pecked his nose, lips and chin.
Teo gave him a tight lipped smile, putting the device away from his ear.
Josh squished his cheeks getting the younger out of his thoughts, defending himself with his free hand.
"Don't go squeezing the merchandise… it's evil" he winced yet smiled brightly as he swatted Josh's hand away from his face.
"Let's get going" he said, pecking his cheeks to which Teo nodded.
"Ya…" the younger handed the device back to its original owner.
Josh saved it whilst his other hand sough for the younger's to hold onto his.
They walked back in silence, counting their steps, wishing time were to stop to give them a little more time to spend in each other's company.
In the distance they saw an indigo mini van, his brother stood outside of it, at his right a young male stood leaning backwards against the van, Jake, and at his left the young pale male with a straight face sat on the ground, legs crossed.
As soon as they spotted them they let go of their hold almost instantly, both of them putting up a mask on to pretend they were ok.
Teo mumbled between teeth, "Thanks"
Josh catched a glimpse of it before the blonde made his way towards his brother.
The young brunnete lifted himself off the van when he noticed the young marine standing there, dashing towards him.
Josh chuckled when the boy almost tackled him to the ground like a wild puppy, barely catching themselves on his feet.
Teo reached for his brother when he noticed his brother's eyes weren't even focused on him anymore but behind him, so were Angello's who stood up.
He spun around to find a bunny-like boy punching playfully to Josh almost as if wrestling.
Teo face became blank when Josh laughed punching him back.
Teo thought to himself, /Did he lie to me? They seem to get a long really well/
Josh brushed his hair off his eyes, meeting Teo's hard stare on him so he stood back a little.
"You still alive! Man, you scared us, is he the"
Jake asked, whipping his head around to find Teo looking at them without the hint of a smile.
Josh answered when he noticed even the younger went quiet, "he's the boy who flung out of board"
"Wow, he's truly beautiful" Jake mumbled mindlessly, entinced by Teo's beauty.
"YA, it's bad manners to stare" Josh punched his arm causing Jake to whine, pouting.
"I'm an artist you know? Finding a muse is always inspiring" he laughed when Josh nudged his stomach.
By the van Angello spoke gently, "they really get along, are you sure they aren't a thing?"
The question was adressed to Ramon who was poking his inner cheek with his tongue, yet the one who replied was Teo who was fumming, "No they aren't!"
His brother and workmate looked at him with odd gazes, first to each other then back to Teo.
"How are you so sure?" The cat-like dude asked again
This time Ramon answered, "He said they aren't. Now let's talk with him and pay some respects to the family who took you in for the night"
The red haired tilted his head, crossing his arms, "How fast…" walking ahead
"I heard that" Ramon muttered as Angello approached Josh and Jake on the other side, lifting his finger up on the air as an answer leaving his boss and friend baffled.
Teo was a bit annoyed but he kept it under control as he tried to not overthink, seeing Angello's action caused him to cackle a little, eyes on his perplexed brother who narrowed his eyes when Angello looked back and winked at him.
Teo looked again and noticed how his brother's eyes were focused on his workmate who picked up his pace towards the playful males ahead.
Josh had Jake's head ln a headlock who winced yet still laughed.
Teo took a deep breathe, thinking to himself, /He's just playing, don't think so hard, he promised he would be honest, didn't he?/
He kept on watching them playing like kids, then they made their way towards them.
Once they reached up to them Josh told him how the incident happened, reassuring them it was his own choice and he waa glad he could save Teo.
The blonde was happy hearing that, even tho they did not stand next to each other still stading across from each other they kept stealing sneaky glances, bitting back a smile everytime their eyes met.
Teo's heart spiked up, so did Josh's balling their hands when they craved for each other's touch.
After a while Ramon, Angello and Jake thanked the elders, who join them by now, for giving shelter to Teo and Josh.
They reassured them saying they just did what a kind soul would.
The elders even invited them to stay for the night, as the sky coloured in a deep shade of purple-indigo by now.
Ramon turned them down in their offer but Angello glared at him which shut him up immediately.
The elderly woman spoke, "Would you stay for the night? We might not have richness but I can offer them a homemade warm meal, nights are cold and the whole ride back might be troublesome"
"He's right, hyung. Driving at night is tiring" Teo interjected giving his two cents.
Jake lifted his arm up on the air, "if they aren't gonna stay I will for sure. Turning down a heartily meal is a sin. I could never"
Ramon gasped but before he could protest against it Angello spoke with a soft gummy smile, a kind which rarely popped into his face.
"We would be glad to take your offer, ma'am"
The elderly woman stepped inside the house to guide them where they'd be staying at, Jake followed her without a second thought wishing to step by the kitchen.
Josh and Teo walked in along with the elder man who was talking about the project and the metting which was settled by Friday.
Ramon rubbed his temple, stopping Angello before he were to walk into the humble house, "Ever since you're able to talk in my stead?"
"I was being fair. Didn't you see by majority we wanted a place to rest up?"
The taller male frowned, but we didn't need to disturb them, we could stay at an hotel"
"The closest hotel or inn is an hour away by car, I'm beaten up so I won't drive your tight bum there"
Ramon gritted his teeth, squinting his eyes, "we can't stay here, the house is small, where are we gon' sleep?"
"The day you're able to drive anywhere else we will do as you please, it's clear the kid won't, Captain Johnson said he would stay here and I could swear not even Teo would agree with you this time. Didn't you notice the sparkle in his eyes?"
The taller male listened to the shorter one, not really noticing what he meant but finally realizing he was stuck in here as he couldn't drive himself away from there even if he wanted to.
"Fine, but I'll sleep in the van, I don't want to burden them with my presence"
"Don't be a donkey, you'll make them feel worst if you don't accept their kindness"
Ramon looked down not sure how to answer to that, he didn't want to can use troubles and as of now he felt bad with that statement.
"I'll still sleep in the van"
"Want me to keep you company?" Angello said turning to walk away
Ramon blushed, coughing as if air would have been punched out of his stomach.
"If you want to you know where to find me" with those words floating on the air the red haired left the brunnete being a mess, lost in his thoughts.
In the meantime the elder man left Josh and Teo on their own as he joined his wife and the hyper boy in the kitchen.
The laughs coming out from the kitchen made this humble house alight with liveliness.
