Chapter 3: Alerted Forces I: The Being

The being currently sat in a meditative position, his focus seemingly unbridled. Yet, it was at this moment his eyes had fluttered open! A sharp light flashing momentarily as a wave of essences gushed out of his imposing figure.

Above his head, a large golden river flashed before quickly disappearing. His gaze sterned even further as an upsetting reality dawned on his mind.

'The Mortal Region has been very chaotic these past couple of weeks. I've tried to peer through the blanketing folds of the barrier placed by the Hallow Galaxy upon the Mortal Region yet, I've only met with failure..! It's been really bothering me!'

The Being thought in a deep, harmonious tone of voice as his mind traced back to his first time sensing the fall of a planet within the Mortal Region.

It was truly not much to pay attention to as at first he simply thought of it as a mere collapsing star.

Yet, that didn't seem to be the case as just days after the first time, he felt that same alarm go off in his mind as he sensed the collapse of several different planets simultaneously!

At that point it had only caused his major thoughts of skepticism to worsen as his beliefs of the worst care scenarios solidified. A truly pressing matter.

A stressful expression appeared on his handsome face, his gaze hardening as his mind processed a series of thoughts no mortal could ever fathom.

The Mortal Region. What was it? Well, within the Hallow Galaxy it was its very last Mortal Region. A region that had yet to ascend and abandon the shackles of mortals!

Once elevated it would then be recognized as an Ascended Region just like the multiple other regions within the Hallow Galaxy.

And though it was the very last Mortal Region that was to ascend soon, the Being knew that it would be one of the Hallow Galaxy's most strongest, prominent Ascended Regions in future.

After all, it would eventually receive the baptism of multiple converging essences belonging to that of other Ascended Regions during its own elevation.

Such information was reserved and kept for only those whom the very Galaxy had chosen to oversee the ruling of large portions of Ascended Regions.

These beings were each powerful and influential figures that all held the ability to sweep planets out of existence with merely a wave of their hands!

So they obviously would have reserved rights to the inner workings of their own Galaxy as their strength made them recognizable enough in order to obtain this information from the Galaxy itself.

By doing this the Hallow Galaxy would ensure that the governing of the Ascended Regions and Mortal Regions are under complete control as these beings' strength would benefit and help protect the Galaxy from any Galactic Invaders, or Regional Monopolization from within the Galaxy itself.

Currently the Being continued to sit afloat within the air cross legged as large amounts of essences continued to roil around his grand figure.

His eyelids drooped yet his head rose, a sharp intake of air occurring right there and then. The Being simply sighed.

The essences that had been gushing out of him suddenly straddled him with immense force as his figure quite literally blinked out of existence. No sounds, no shock waves, no nothing! Simple, undulated silence.

Such terrifying mastery of one's own speed.

Following the remnant traces of essences, the figure of the Being was seen appearing above the Mortal Region with his tall stature luminously being encompassed by the bright lights of the surrounding planets.

Even as an Overseer of the Ascended Regions and also a being of a certain rank so profoundly powerful that if a being within that very rank was not careful as to how they controlled their strengths, a simple tap of a finger could quite literally obliterate solar systems, he still needed to seek permission from the Hallow Galaxy if he wished to step foot into the Mortal Region.

This just went on to demonstrate how extremely important Mortal Regions were to Galaxies. They were the foundation laid down in order to hopefully elevate into Ascended Regions and increase the overall strength of a Galaxy.

They were important assets that, if destroyed or harmed in any way, could very much destroy hundreds of thousands if not millions of years of hard work!

Staring at the very transparent barrier that at a first glance, seemed thin and weak, the Being sent out tendrils of his energy that plunged into the surrounding space of the Hallow Galaxy, calling out to its home.

In merely a few minutes the Being was shaken with a reply as the Galaxy already knew of the happenings within the Mortal Region.

With that being out of the way, a small passageway formed within the very barrier of the Mortal Region as the Being slowly entered with his aura and energy receding back into him.

His current rank then locked and fell as he suddenly had several limitations placed upon himself. Now, you might be thinking why didn't the Hallow Galaxy explain to him the real cause of these threatening occurrences within the Mortal Region?

After all, wasn't it the literal owner of these regions? Though one could only wish it were that easy!

The Being knew that the Hallow Galaxy, although knowing of the occurrences within the Mortal Region did not know of its true causes as the very consciousness of this Galaxy was present everywhere except for here!

But why? Why was it like that? Well, to simply put into words of easier understanding, it was due to the immense power of the Hallow Galaxy.

It was almost like a double edged sword, bringing both protection to oneself but also self harm.

The power of this Hallow Galaxy was so immense that only the Ascended Regions could handle an extremely small percentage of its consciousness peering into it.

It could only handle that much whilst being an Ascended Region! Now picture a Mortal Region. All there is to picture is mass obliteration.

Truly damning indeed.

The Being, already within the Mortal Region, floated across the starry expanse of space. His impassive gaze swept across the many solar systems observing them as they appeared to still be intact and well.

Nodding his head he turned his body blurring forth in a fastened manner. His body streaked across space in a series of daunting light.

It took mere moments before he was seen coming to an abrupt stop. His body floated in front of an empty void of space that looked far more depleted than any others he had seen before on his way here.

This was the former location of a solar system. His eyes grew cold as his right hand was now held out.

Suddenly, the space that looked dried and empty in contrast to its already bleak surroundings shook as essences of many kinds started unfolding and gathering.

In the process of its gathering the Being lifted his other hand as an ever changing construct that morphed into various three-dimensional shapes appeared above his palm.

This was a common owned by most Overseers within the Hallow Galaxy known as the Piercer Of Origins.

Despite its commonness among most Overseers, it was an item of unbound power that enabled its user to insert a myriad of essences and deduce each and every one of its Origin.

After all, everything had an Origin. This was especially so for powerful beings.

Even if those who were within the early Rank Series couldn't quite yet solidify that Origin as quickly as those higher ranked than themselves into something physical, they were still solidifying it slowly nonetheless.

But why use this? One may think that after using this for so long, recognizing the essences of a Galactic Invader would become almost instinctual. And while this was true, the Being did not recognize any belonging to that of a Galactic Invader.

'Hm?' The Being raised an eyebrow at this moment. Every possibility he considered at this moment was thrown out the door, even the ones with the Galactic Invader, even if the being he found was an invader in its own sense.

The Being's eyes were then seen in a widened manner, a state of sudden realization as the familiarity with this specific essence started to sink in.

Though it was not through personal familiarity, no. Rather, it was through the familiarity of books, stories and myths.

'I-It can't be..'

His brain rumbled at the thought of the unbelievable becoming a possibility. Was there a fluke with the relic, perhaps? With a thought such as this lingering in his mind he rescanned the myriad of essences once more. And indeed he saw nothing along the lines of a fluke.

It was right there that his countenance as a prideful, calm and composed being started to crumble.

'How is this even possible..? A being of such myth, of such greatness that is supposed to be extinct!

What is such a being doing here? What is it doing within our Hallow Galaxy?

No! Why was it even in our Mortal Region?! How did it even bypass our Galaxy's detection?!

No this isn't just merely a coincidence. It simply cannot be! There must be several heads playing within this game!'

The Being's head shook internally, his face morphing into both shock and fear as he did not know what to expect.

Now you must know that for a being such as Zayne to even be within a small Galaxy like theirs was simply inconceivable. Even more so, considering that he was of a race supposedly extinct.

[AUTHOR: As the Universal Vampires hadn't been spotted after the great hunt that was dedicated for their kind all those years ago, a lot of people believed they had been wiped out for good.]

Let's also not forget about their Universe entirely and though the Being had never ventured outside of his Galaxy and explored his Universe, the Hallow Galaxy's consciousness would usually entertain their curiosity by answering their various questions every now and then.

So they knew that their Universe was not as grand enough to even produce such an amalgamation. What was currently discovered could be considered taboo. It was frightening for the Being! He did not know what to expect indeed.

To make matters even more worse than they already were, his strength had been limited forcefully upon entering the Mortal Region.

Now within the ranks of the Sage Series, he did not know whether his power would be enough to subdue and reel in the Universal Vampire.

With this being the reality of things, the Being's eyes turned sharp as a meaningful light flashed within them.

'I must report this immediately! A meeting is to be called upon as soon as possible!'

With that thought being issued, his figure turned and flashed out of existence as a couple hundreds of miles away, a being hiding behind a massive uninhabited star floated out.

Zayne's figure stood tall as his face was scrunched up with a mask of seriousness.

It seems that his presence has finally caught the eyes of those Overseers. He was truly thankful for his system as the informative feature truly made things easier for him.

: A race of enormously freakish slithering monsters that resembled a hybrid of a centipede and an earthworm. They carried a set of unique skills that allowed them to traverse through Galaxies forcefully and feed on the planets within its Mortal Regions and sometimes Ascended Regions. Their young ones measure up to 200 meters and can grow up to 1200 meters when reaching adulthood. They are powerful and destructive, barely having any levels of intelligence within their minds.

[Didn't explain it in the chapter due to me thinking it was too much explaining]
