The Runaway

'And... there.' Mizuki giggled as she finished setting the trap. A simple bucket of water attached to a rope, which is attached to the ceiling. When the door is opened, the bottom of the bucket will get pulled along and it will tip over, letting all the water splash out.

Feeling, and hearing a stomping come toward her as she climbed down from the wall, she turned her attention to the footsteps coming up behind her.

"Hitsuchi! Are you playing another one of your pranks again?" A strict voice sounded from a tall boy.

"Tch. Pfft. No. What makes you think that, Mr. Class President?" Mizuki expertly played it off in an extremely unconvincing way.

Mizuki hurried to her desk as she felt her teacher approach.

"I will dismantle this trap at once!" The tall boy climbed the best he could, but having a complete lack of knowledge on how to climb, along with the fact that Mizuki used her quirk to climb, he struggled to reach the bucket.

"You have no respect for this school and its teachers! Don't you feel bad?" He continued his lecture as he climbed up.

Finally he got high enough to grab the bucket, "There!" He called out, just as the door opened, forcing the bucket to spill water all over the teacher.

"Ahahahahahaha!" Mizuki broke into a fit of laughter seeing the teacher completely soaked.

"Tenya Iida, I expected more from you." The teacher turned to look at Iida, who had a horrified look on his face.

It was clear that the teacher was thinking that Iida was the one who set the trap from his words, "I expect something of this from Mizuki, but from someone of your ilk?" The disappointed words only made Mizuki laugh even harder.

"I- bu- tha- it-" Iida was completely caught off-guard by the situation and couldn't voice any of his thoughts properly.

"Enough, Iida. See me after class."

"But it wasn-"

"See me after class."

Mizuki held her hands over her mouth to stop her laughter as soon as her teacher looked over at her. She would try not to implicate herself.

"Mizuki, if you don't mind, could you dry me off?" Her teacher of course knew all about her quirk.

"Sure thing, teach." She mixed her control of air and control of fire to make hot air. Though she "accidentally" put too much force, blow drying his hair at a strange angle.

"Oops." She shrugged before sitting down.

Over the year that she has been to this school, she has been trying her best to explore the area, but being taken directly to her school and prevented from leaving until the end of the day, until they picked her back up again, made it pretty much impossible to explore anything other than the school.

At this point it was like being transported between 2 prisons. She wanted to see the outside world! So lately, she has made a bit of a reputation for herself as a prankster, nothing she couldn't fix if the one pranked got too upset about it, but she was trying to get expelled. Or at least suspended.

Hopefully that way she could explore more of the city by going to another school. For some reason, the school just put up with it, and she never got into too much trouble. Probably something to do with how much money her family had.

She was also doing pretty bad in school, to see if they could kick her out for bad grades. She had already studied everything until high school, so she wasn't worried about her future, she just wanted an out, in some way. Though some of her bad grades could easily be attributed to her blindness.

It was quite hard to do advanced math in her head. She wasn't allowed her phone in class, so she couldn't use her verbal calculator that she had on it.

Bunch of hypocrites in her opinion. Not that she cared, she preferred that over letting her do whatever she wanted like they were doing in terms of her pranks.

'Maybe I should just run away.' Mizuki mused, as she played with her pencil. She hadn't bothered paying attention to class ever since she got here. Not like anyone could tell, she wasn't exactly ever looking at the board, even if she was paying attention for whatever reason.

She couldn't see what was on the board after all, and the only one who tried to make sure she knew what was on the board was the class president, the very same Tenya Iida she had gotten in trouble earlier. Today, however, he seemed to be holding a grudge over the fact that she got him in trouble, so he wasn't pointing out the fact that she would need whatever was on the board described to her.

She headed home that day having gotten nothing productive done. After the prank this morning, she lacked the motivation to elaborately create any more.

The car ride home was bumpy, which irritated her, mostly because she couldn't really feel any of the vibrations outside properly while the car was moving, especially when it was bumpy.

The car came to a stop, much earlier than she expected, and it wasn't a stop light. Now that the car was actually stopped, she could feel that ahead of the car was a snake-like man in the middle of the road.

He was large, and before she had time to really identify what was happening, the snake man rushed toward the car. Instinctively, she jumped out of the car, much to the surprise of her chauffeur, but he wasn't surprised for much longer as the snake man wrapped his large body around the car and squeezed.

"Well well well, it seems the intel I received was correct." The snake man said with a clear lisp on each s.

Mizuki didn't like the sound of that, but hurriedly readied herself as she felt the snake man crumple the car she was just in like it was paper. Well, not exactly that strong, but it was safe to say that the chauffeur inside was not alive anymore.

She could feel the small currents of the man's blood dripping out of the car, and she winced.

She was undoubtedly afraid, but she wasn't going to let that happen to her as well.

"Time to get some revenge against those bastards who you call your parents." The snake man hissed.

"Well I call them bastards too, so I guess we have something in common." Mizuki let her toes dig into the asphalt beneath her. It was a nervous tick, and her fidget toy was the ground itself.

The snake man unfurled itself from around the most assumptively bloody car, placing it carelessly along the strangely empty road.

How was no other car nearby? She couldn't notice until the car stopped, but the surrounding area was completely void of any life, save a bird or squirrel.

"Like I care, I just want to end the bloodline of those Hitsuchi fucks. Starting, and hopefully ending, with you, little girl."

"Huh!? The fuck did you call me, HUH!?" Mizuki suddenly exploded out of nowhere.

"What, you wanna make fun of the fact that I'm blind too, you slimy bitch?" Mizuki continued.

Taken aback slightly, the snake man's upper body leaned back a bit in surprise.

"I'll show you 'little!'" Her hand uppercut the air, at the same time, bringing up a mound of earth along with the asphalt, hitting the snake man square on the chin, making it lurch backward in pain.

"You little brat!" The snake man got over its surprise as it let its tail flick out toward Mizuki, who stomped the ground next to her, letting a wall of earth block the attack. The wall shattered into pieces on impact, but stopped the momentum of the tail.

Using the pieces from the broken wall, she kicked forward, launching a few rocks forward. She followed up with a punch, sending the rest of the rocks after. The snake man was pelted with the rocks, but took no significant damage against its scales.

The snake man hissed loudly as it slithered quickly under the rest of the rock barrage, heading straight toward Mizuki. Before he could get too far, Mizuki stomped on the ground once again, this time an earth mound shot out of the ground under the snake man's neck(?), making the snake man reel back as it choked, trying to get air. Following that she took another stomp forward, launching a small boulder out from the ground. She pushed forward quickly toward the boulder, letting it shoot forward as it smashed into the chin of the snake man.

The snake fell backwards onto its back and wasn't moving.

"D-did I do it?" Mizuki inched toward the snake, taking special note of the vibrations of the snake man's heartbeat. It was fast, but they did just finish fighting. She let her feet smack against the ground, trying to get a reaction out of the snake man in case he was still awake.

Not feeling a significant change to the snake man's heartbeat or breathing she approached the snake's head, when she felt the heartbeat suddenly spike as the snake flipped its head up. She quickly blew at the snake man, creating fire with her breath as the fuel for the energy of the sun.

"Ah! It burns!" The snake man thrashed around for a moment as Mizuki backed away rapidly from the random thrashing of the snake man, "Ah, it doesn't hurt?" The snake man realised.

'Ah shoot. That's what I get for only training control I suppose.' Mizuki grimaced as the snake man looked furious.

"Gaaah! You little brat! How dare you!" He charged forward again, his form dashing left and right rapidly at seemingly random.

Mizuki stomped the ground and moved her arms, trying to hit the snake man with the earth she's grown to love, but he easily slithered around them as it approached.

Seeing that her earth was having no effect she heaved heavily from the exertion of using her quirk for actual combat. Her tense arms felt sore already, with her legs barely being any better.

'I don't just have earth!' She took a deep breath. She didn't want to say that out loud and let the snake know how her quirk worked.

She attempted to keep stomping to distract the snake man with earth as she took a ridiculously deep breath in. When she finished her breath, the snake was right in front of her.

She, for lack of a better analogy, removed the cork on the end of the wine bottle and let all the air in her lungs to blast out in a concentrated blast of air. The snake man was hit once again in the face, and was blown back with the powerful blast of air.

'Oh, I'm so light headed.' Mizuki held her head as she took deep, gasping breaths. She was so tired, and her head felt funny.

Mizuki fell on her butt as she watched the snake tumble over onto itself from the gust. He rolled away in a strangely cartoonish way, much like a wheel rolling.

The snake man collided with the wall and slumped down in a heap, his own tail coiling around above his head, the weight of its own body trapping him.

He wasn't out yet though, as he struggled to try and get out of the tangles of his own body.

It wasn't long before the snake man broke free of his entanglement, he would know how to untangle his body after all.

Seeing the exhausted girl on the ground, he coiled his body like a spring and fired himself forward.

A sudden gust of wind blew by as Mizuki found the snake man's head a mere metre from her body.

"NEVER FEAR! WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE!" A booming voice that Mizuki could identify only as a giant with rippling muscles. The man had a wide smile on his face that didn't disappear for a moment.

The giant man, who had the snake by the tail, flipped the snake over his head, smashing the snake harshly into the concrete, instantly knocking the snake man out.

'That was...' Mizuki sensed the heartbeat of the snake man rapidly start to decrease as he fell into unconsciousness.

"AWESOME!" Mizuki raised her arm as she exclaimed.

"HAHA INDEED!" The giant man agreed.

"Are you a hero?" Mizuki found herself asking.

Mizuki could feel the confusion in the air from the giant man.

"You mean, you don't know me?" The usually booming voice was quieter.

"Not really. I kind of recognize your voice though, I think..." Mizuki scratched her head, wondering who it was. She unfortunately knew pretty much absolutely nothing about what heroes looked like. She knew of them, but not what they looked like. Not like she could just look up a picture, she was blind!

"WELL, I AM ALL MIGHT!" He said in a matter of fact tone.

"Ah, that's where I remember your voice from, old man."

All Might felt a shock, 'Old man?' He thought.

"SO YOU DO KNOW ME HAHAHA!" He guffawed.

"Ya, you're a lot bigger than I thought you'd be."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" He seemed intrigued.

"Well, I'm glad I made you believe otherwise, but I am very blind." Mizuki waved a hand in front of her face to portray as such. "My quirk just lets me get a feel for the outline of things through vibrations. I can kind of get information from the breeze, but it's much harder to."

"QUITE THE VERSATILE QUIRK THERE!" All Might complimented.

"Thanks!" She smiled widely, when a thought came to mind, "Say, you're the number 1 hero, right?"

"THAT I AM!" She could feel his smile widen, if only slightly.

"Do you think..." Mizuki just came up with the idea on the spot, but she hadn't had more excitement in her life than the last 5-10 minutes, "...I could be a hero? Even though I'm blind?"

"WELL, YOUNG GIRL. IT'S NOT EASY TO BE MY TYPE OF HERO! WHAT MATTERS MOST OF ALL, IS, DO YOU WANT TO BE A HERO?" All Might turned the question around onto her.

"Yes, of course!" She nodded, 'Though for reasons that aren't exactly heroic.' She added in her head.

"THEN THAT IS ALL YOU NEED! OF COURSE A DETERMINED HEART ALSO NEVER HURTS!" All Might guffawed again before turning.

"IT WAS A PLEASURE MEETING YOU YOUNG LADY, BUT I MUST GET GOING!" Before she could speak a word, his feet had already left the ground, throwing the air around her all around, completely disturbing her air sense. He might as well have turned invisible to her, because she couldn't see or hear him any more.

"Ah." Mizuki realised something, "Now that I think about it... Where am I?" Mizuki didn't recognize the surrounding area at all. That was to say, she felt nothing familiar.

Maybe she had driven through this area before, but to her, it was something completely new.

"New. Something new." Her smile widened as she wandered down the street ahead of her.

"I like new places."

This one was a lot of how her quirk has grown. And I would be lying if I said that Mizuki wasn't based 100% off of Toph, so of course she mainly uses earth bending, as it were.

Of course, I am speed running her life, because I only made an outline for it. Of course, the story will slow down as the actual story starts, that is just how fanfics go.

Some also may say, that this character is "too strong" and for that I saw BAAAH Humbug. It's cool. I like cool things.
