Chapter Seventy-Four

Sarah POV

My mother invited my boss inside but he politely declined stating that he is just here to drop me off that he will soon pay us an official visit. My boss left afterwards, immediately his car drove out of our sight Ella pinched my side I yelped,ouch! What was that for? 

You owe me a lot of gist Ella said while smiling mischievously. What gist? My mother asked behind me, jezz mum you startled me I thought you are already inside I said while holding my chest cause it's beating so fast, yeah I know sue me I got scared easily call me a scardy cat I don't care. Well luckily am not inside yet so that means I will get to hear this particular gist my mother said smiling widely. When my mother behaves sometimes it made me wonder how old she really is.

I went inside our house seated on the cushion is my brother I can't believe that he is here it's been awhile I last saw him and when I was talking to him day before yesterday on the day of the competition he said he will not be able to come back,so what is he doing here. Josh Williams what are you doing here I thought you said that you are not coming back you sly fox I asked my brother while poking his side.

Sis stop! Stop! Stop tickling me am not a kid anymore Josh said while giggling,so long am concerned you will always remain a kid to me cause you are my kid brother I said and ruffled his hair ,and what's with you lying to me that you are not coming back I questioned him. I want to surprise you and how do you think is possible that I will celebrate my Christmas without you and mom Josh pouted.

Aww my baby boy is so cute I pinched his cheeks come here give your big sister a hug,I hugged him while patting his back,I missed you sis Josh said to me I missed you too bro I replied. We broke the hug but Josh still held my hand while looking me up and down,What's wrong why are you looking at me like that? I asked him.

You are glowing,I know you are beautiful but you are more beautiful now and very happy what's going on Josh asked me. I don't understand what you are talking about this is how I used to be I answered him. No sis that's not true I know when you are dating Evans and when you guys broke up I know how you always look so lost but now you look so lively,so tell me do you now have a boyfriend? Josh asked.

Am about to answer his question when Ella interrupted me, well for now they are not dating but your sister is......... I quickly placed my hand on Ella's mouth to stop her from sprouting nonsense. I gave Ella what the hell is wrong with you look,she raised her hand in surrender I removed my hands from her mouth. Am sorry for talking please don't mind me then Ella turned to my mother Mum call me when the dinner is set I will be upstairs. Yes Ella calls my mother Mum and I also called her mother Mum when she was alive.

Sarah what is Ella talking about who is the  he she was referring to? My mother asked,Sis are you in love with any guy my brother also asked me. Jezz can you guys calm down you all knew how Ella can be some handful at times and you should learn to ignore whatever that comes out of her mouth and for the record am not in love with anybody I lied to my family.

I decided to lie to them cause I don't know exactly what my boss feelings for me are I don't want to mistake gratitude for love,that's why I don't want my mother and brother to be happy now at the end of the day it will turned out that they were happy for nothing. While I was talking to them my mother excused herself to go and set the table.

Okay Sis calm down I don't mean to offend you or anything but I just want to be sure of what is going on in your life cause if you are in love with any man this time around I will like to meet the person and accessed the kind of person he is cause I don't want what happened with Evans to repeat itself again Josh said while having that serious look on his face to show me that he is serious with what he is saying.

I hugged him tightly cause what he said now moved me I don't know that my brother is now this matured, wow my baby brother is now turning into a man I whispered to him,of course I told you that am no longer a kid he whispered back. But you are still my kid brother nothing changes that I told him and broke the hug. 

Okay now that you guys are done hugging each other without my involvement in the hug Sarah you can now go upstairs and call Ella that the table is set My mother said while frowning deeply. Mum are you angry because we did not involved you in the hug I asked my mother to be sure that am not mistaken, my mother nodded in affirmative. I can't believe that my mum is this childish but I still love her so much,Josh and I stood up and hug our mother so that she will be happy if not she will be pouting throughout the whole dinner.

I went upstairs to call Ella for dinner I found her trying to open one of the gifts I don't even know that she already brought the gifts upstairs. What are you trying to do and when did you brought these upstairs? I asked her. When you were busy hugging your brother that's when I brought it upstairs and I have been waiting for you patiently to come upstairs but you seemed to be taking your time and my patient was running out Ella answered me nonchalantly. God what kind of best friend did you gave to me.
