The Dream and Technique of the Past

[Rebecca POV]

I feel a surreal pain in my head as regain my consciousness. I slowly open my eyes, only to find myself in the middle of a vast open plain.

'Where the heck am I?' I thought to myself as I survey the surroundings. There was no one to be seen, other than the endless plain itself. It was barren and devoid with any lifeform or buildings.

'Hey Kiana, Are you there?' I tried to call for Kiana in my mind to ask where we are, but she doesn't answer my call. She is either ignoring me or she wasn't there in the first place. Whether it is, I'll think on my own to avoid annoying her.

"How did I get here?" I asked myself, trying to remember what happened previously. I recall seeing a firework at the direction of Roa, I ran towards it and made it to the citadel, then I jump over the rooves of the buildings and..... Onii-chan!!"

That's right, I remember now. I recalled seeing him in an alley, flying away from the two thugs while holding Eris and Felis while a sword was been at them and then.... Urm, I couldn't recall what happens next and my memories are a bit fuzzy.

*flap* *flap*

As I was contemplating my thoughts, I suddenly heard a flapping sound somewhere. I search for the source of the sound and when I look up, I saw a female angel flying in the sky. The angel has six feathery wings that were fluttering majestically in the air. The angel also has long flowing pink hair that flows like a gentle river and a dress that exudes absolute beauty and elegance, shining like the rays of the sun.

"So pretty" I muttered as follow the beautiful angel through the empty grass field. I ran for miles and still haven't found any civilization yet. Have I gone back in time or something? Doesn't matter. I kept on following the flying angel in the air and see if I can talk to her. I could ask her on where I am and what am I doing in this place.

After chasing the angel for a while now, she landed on a spot where another person was sitting on a huge rock. The person is a large male with pale skin, green hair, four arms, a pair of small horns and two huge dragon wings behind his back. He is currently writing something on a book and the angel is teasing him, making the man irritated.

'Wow, that so badass' I was impressed of the man's appearance, especially his four arms and pair of dragon wings makes him look like a badass MMORPG character that I would see in games of my previous life.

As well as the angel besides him, she has vibe of a goddess written all over her. Her beauty is so strong that I can feel it all the way from where I am standing, which is a bit far from them.

A goddess angel and a demonic dragon, huh. Sounds like a pair of couple in a fantasy romance novel. Seeing those two somehow feels familiar and weirdly nostalgic. It's either I saw them before or I am just comparing similarities from books in the previous life.

The two of them talked for a bit before the angel the opens a black portal, in which the man enters to get to somewhere. I run towards the angel before she could enter the portal as well.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" I shouted at the angel who was about to leave to the portal. She noticed me coming and signaled the man to wait for her. When I finally caught up with her, she faces me and we look at each other,

Now that I have a better view of her, she looks much more elegant than I saw from a far. Her eyes had beautiful shade of blue with violet gradient mixed to it and a white diamond shape for pupils. Her white dress looks like a wedding gown with purple and gold highlights and ornaments. The most conspicuous of all, is that she had elf ears, which is very cute.

When she looks at me, she smiles gently and takes a sigh of relief for some reason.

"Ah, I see. Looks like the future is in safe hands after all" she mutters to herself in reassurance, which made confused. What does he mean by the future? Is she referring to me?

"Um, excuse me, ma'am"

"Ah, sorry. I'm just talking to myself again, he he.... So, what is it, sweetie?" the woman talks to me in a very cheerful tone.

Her voice is very lovely and pleasant to my ears, as if a goddess was talking to me. I was in a daze when she spoke to me. So, she then pokes my nose, snapping me out of my stupor. Looking back to her, she smiled at me quite teasingly.

"Do you have something to say, dear~?"

"Ah! Umm... could you tell where I am? I just feel a bit lost on where I am going?" I asked the beautiful angel and she giggles lightheartedly at me, putting her hand on top my head.

"Silly child, you don't have to be lost here. This is just a dream~" she vaguely answers my question.

"Huh?!"

"To be more specific, this is a dream of the past" the woman clarifies her answer more.

"What do you mean by dream of the past? Why would I dream a place like this?" I questioned her to know more about her information. She then pets my head, rubbing her hand against my hair. She then removes her from the top of my head and points one finger on my forehead.

"Well~ It is to help you remember, of course~" she sincerely told me, poking the finger the surface of my forehead.

"Hey, hurry up! we need to go!" The man on the other side of the portal calls for the angel lady.

"Ah yes. Wait a second, Laplace." she replied to the man's call and looks back to me. "Well, till we meet again, little one. In the future that is" she vaguely reassures me and walks away from me, entering the portal in front of me.

"Hey, wait! Don't go! Huh?" I tried to chase after the angel woman but my body couldn't move. I look down to my feet and saw that my legs were being restrained by pink crystals, slowly covering up to my body.

The angel crossed the other side of the portal and the portal itself is slowly closing.

"Wait! I want to know who you are! Please, don't go!" I cried at the angel lady as the portal was closing in. She turns around and then looks to my eyes.

" ...heaven god...." The woman mutters something that I couldn't hear clearly due to the crystal enveloping me. The portal closes completely, losing my chance to know more about her identity.

Then the pink crystal fully covered my whole body, making my vision went black.

*gasp*

I immediately opened my eyes for real this time and quickly gasped for air to the point I coughed badly.

That dream I had, made me get up in cold sweat and I teared up because of how scary it is to be encased in a crystal.

"Rebecca, are you alright?" a familiar voice calls out to me and I quickly look at the direction of who is calling me. It was onii-chan, who looks at me worriedly. I, myself, was on a bed but I didn't mind that and went to do what's more important. I didn't answer onii-chan's question and just quickly hugged him.

I begin to cry while embracing my brother and he hugged me back to comfort me. "There, there, we are here for you, Rebecca"

"I'm scared... *sniff* very scared... bweeeeh!" I cried my hearts out as I clung to onii-chan.

I am truly afraid right now. Afraid of the nightmare of me being trapped within a crystal. The dream itself felt so real that the mere thought of a crystal creeping up to my body terrifies me.

"I know, Rebecca. You don't need to be afraid anymore" the comfort words of onii-chan soothes the discomfort of fear within me and I slowly calmed down.

It took me a while to fully calm down, taking a deep sigh before I separated from onii-chan.

"Feeling better?" onii-chan asked me, making sure if I am finally okay. I meekly nodded in confirmation and he sighed in relief.

"Hey Onii-chan, tell me what happened earlier, starting from the time you arrived in Roa up to where I woke up" I inquired onii-chan about what happened previously. He nodded in compliance and told me everything.

When they arrived in Roa, they headed to the mansion but were waited by the butler named Thomas and two thugs snatched Eris and Felis. Onii-chan pursued the kidnappers and blocked the path with magic.

He then demands the thugs to give up Eris and Felis, but ultimately failed and fired a fireball to the sky as a distraction and signal. He then saved Felis and Eris with magic and were about to escape from the alley. However, one of the thugs threw his sword towards onii-chan and was about to hit him.

But then, he said that I saved them just in time. I then got angry at the thugs and I killed them mercilessly with a strange sword skill that decimated the two thugs into nothingness.

After that, I passed out and collapsed to the ground. Onii-chan carried me and went back to the mansion along with Eris, Ghislaine and Felis. He then places me on the bed in my room at the mansion so I could rest.

Honestly, the part where I saved them in the alley and killed the thugs feels so farfetched because I don't remember doing those things. I only remembered seeing the part where the sword was flying towards him and I blacked out after that. When I told that to onii-chan, he was perplexed on what I said to him.

"Do you really don't remember what you did earlier, Rebecca" he asked me if I'm sure on what I am saying and I nodded honestly to his question. "Yes, I have no recollection of those event and my memories were fuzzy" I honestly answered his question, making him contemplate on this matter.

[Rudeus POV]

This is very weird. I didn't expect for Rebecca to not remember the event in the alleyway.

I vividly remembered the way she talks that time. She talked like a cold-blooded and menacing person compared to her usual cheerful and boisterous demeanor that time. it feels like she was a totally different person and thinking about it scares me.

Then there's the massive amount of bloodlust she released when she got angry at the two thugs. I was utterly horrified on how large it is compared to the time she normally got angry. It feels like the bloodlust of a furious monster just crawled out of Rebecca. I didn't include that part to my explanation in order prevent her to worry or panic in fear again.

Lastly, the way she killed those thugs. I never seen such a powerful and devastating technique in my life. Well, not in this world that is, I vaguely remembered seeing that move in an anime in the previous life.

Enhance Armament.... I never expect hearing that move in this world. It's either a coincidence or the creator of this move was a reincarnated person. I am sure it was the latter part, but I wonder who that person was.

*creak*

I then heard the door of the room opening, which snaps me out of my contemplation. Me and Rebecca look at the doorway and saw Eris, Ghislaine and Felis entering the room.

They all approached Rebecca and asked how is she feeling. She told the three that she is perfectly fine and asked her some questions.

"Hey! Teach me that move you just did earlier!" Eris demands Rebecca to teach her the move that killed the thugs in the alleyway. Rebecca was confused on what Eris was talking about and looks at me with utter confusion.

"Onii-chan, what is she talking about?" she asked me for clarification on what Eris meant and told her about the Enhance Armament she used, which made her confusion worse.

"[Armament Full Control Art], the technique that was developed by the Warrior God" Ghislaine then explained to us about the technique Rebecca used. This intrigues Eris even more and keeps on listening on Ghislaine's explanation.

It was also explained that the warrior god invented the technique to help in combating the demon army, teaching the technique to the dwarves in order create weapons with special abilities. It is said that these weapons are more effective than magic tools and magic items. These weapons have devastating abilities that doesn't required the mana of the user and it was said that the weapon itself generates its own mana. However, after human-demon war, only few dwarves left who has the knowledge to create weapons with Armament Full Control Art.

"So that means... that Rebecca's sword was created by a dwarf that knows the technique?" I speculate as it was an obvious observation. Ghislaine nodded at my question, which confirms my speculation. I didn't know that father would give Rebecca a special sword in her birthday. He said that he bought that sword in the Asura Kingdom, which made me wonder if the dwarf that created this weapon was still there.

Eris's eyes sparkle in wonder when she heard that Rebecca's sword was special and wanted a sword for herself. We could only smile wryly at her request and use this opportunity to make a condition to make her study.

When we told her the condition, she was reluctant to comply. But when Rebecca told Eris about the origin of how she got her sword and is willing to give her a sword if she follows my condition. Hearing Rebecca's proposal, she immediately agreed.

Rebecca then gave me a thumbs up as she had made my job teaching Eris much easier now. I return the thumbs up with my own that her "Thank you for the assist".

[Rebecca POV]

While Ghislaine was explaining about the warrior god and the Armament Full Control Art, I called Kiana when I realized that she might know more about these stuffs.

'Hey Kiana, are you there?'

'(Oh, you're finally awake)'

She replied to my call, which was a relief. I asked her about the warrior god if she knows more about the person. Kiana was silent for a while and I waited her to answer.

'(The warrior god is.... an old friend...)'

She told me her answer with a solemn and mournful tone. From the sound of how she says it, I guess it was a touchy subject. I apologize to her for asking, but she brush it off as it wasn't that bad and continued talking.

'(The warrior god is my old partner in the human-demon war. She is like you but more annoying and obnoxious to deal with)'

'What is she looks like?'

'(Well, she has bright blonde hair with streaks of white hair mix in it. She blue eyes and fair skin. clad in white armor and wielding a dark lance with blue highlights. Lastly, she was from the heaven race, so she has feathery wings as well)'

She describes the appearance of the warrior god and realized that the same person in one of my dreams had the same description as the warrior god. I told Kiana about it, as well as the dream about the pink haired angel lady. I asked what was the significance of remembering these dreams to her and she made an annoyed sigh.

'(You can't be serious, huh? You're such an idiot. Think on your own, kid)'

I was saddened by her answer and just moved on to the next topic. I then asked her about the armament full control art if she knows more about it.

'(The armament full control art is a technique that brings forth the true potential of the weapon that was forged by the maker. Each of the weapon forged with the technique has three phases, the [Initial Phase], the [Strengthening Phase] and the [Releasing Phase])'

Kiana told me about the technique and explained me about the three phases.

The Initial Phase is dormant state of the weapon, only unleashing support moves to buff the wielder of the weapon and debuff the enemies. Unleashing one's mana or bloodlust is enough to unlock the phase of the weapon.

The Strengthening Phase partially awakens the potential of the weapon, which unleash an offensive move that inflict major damage to the enemies. Chanting [Enhance Armament] will unlock this phase and the magic circles that appeared on the weapon were the commands that executes the offensive move.

The Releasing Phase releases all of the weapon's true potential, unleashing all of the excessive power of the weapon. Chanting [Release Recollection] will release of the restraints of the weapon, unlocking the phase to unleash catastrophic and devastating ultimate moves.

After hearing the explanation of Kiana, I understand a little bit more of what the potential of my [Night Sky Sword] and what more it can do that I didn't know.

I then asked Kiana about the event of me saving onii-chan and killing the thugs with the weapons's strengthening phase. Kiana again let out an annoyed sigh but still answers my question.

'(I can't tell you about this matter yet, but one thing for sure is that the sight of your brother almost getting killed awakens something within you)'

'And what is that?'

'(Urgh! Think on your own, kid. I'm not answering all of your stupid question. Goodbye!)'

'Hey! Come back! I need more answers, please!'

'(.....)'

'Welp, she's gone again. What now....'

I snapped out of my thought and listened back to the conversation in the room. From I can hear in their talk, Eris was intrigued by my sword for some reason and demanded to give her a sword like mines. We could only smile wryly at her request, but Onii-chan thought of something and smirks at Eris.

"Hey Eris, we can give you a sword like Rebecca's"

"Really?!"

"Only if you let me teach you arithmetic, writing and reading, then we will give you the sword" onii-chan tries to negotiate with Eris by exchanging her willingness to learn with a sword, which is a pretty fair deal for Eris.

However, Eris frowns and was hesitant to agree with onii-chan's condition. I then ponder on how to help onii-chan and remembered about where father got the sword I got. I decided to tell Eris about the origin of the sword I got.

"Hey Eris, do you know that my [Night Sky Sword] was bought by father in the Asura Kingdom"

"And so?"

"If you follow my brother's condition, then I will go there and buy you a sword like mines"

"Really?!"

"Yeah"

Hearing my proposal, she smiled cheerfully and accepted onii-chan 's condition to study. I then turned my attention to onii-chan and gave him a thumbs up that says "Good luck teaching Eris, onii-chan". He then returned the thumbs up with his own, which made me smile.

As we were conserving with each other, Felis came towards us with a tray of glass of fruit juice for me and onii-chan, so we take one and drink the glass of juice.

While I was drinking the juice, I realized something was off. I turned my attention to Felis who was wearing maid uniform for some reason.

"Felis-chan, why are you dressing up as a maid?!" I immediately asked Felis, which made her fluster.

"Umm... Eris-sama told me too, nya" Felis embarrassingly told me and quickly turned my sight to Eris, who is posing triumphantly, which confused me.

"Eris, why did you told her to dress up like a maid?" I questioned Eris decision, which she snickers all a sudden.

"I thought you'd never ask, Felis asked me and my grandfather if she could stay with her auntie. So, we made a contract with her where she will be a maid in the mansion in exchange for her stay" Eris boisterously boasted her answer to me, making me perplex on what she said. But then I realized something from Eris statement.

"Wait, auntie? Who would that be?"

"Me..."

When I asked who was the aunt of Felis, someone answered and I didn't expect who just replied to my question. It was Ghislaine, who was silently standing on the behind Felis.

"What?! Ghislaine is Felis-chan's auntie?!" I was shock on the sudden revelation that just unfolded in front of me.

Onii-chan explained that Felis was full name was Pardofelis Dedoldia and Ghislaine was her distant relative in the Dedoldia clan. Felis heard about the story of Ghislaine in their village and she set out a journey to find her in the Central Continent. While traveling, she met a blonde noble that offers to help her in her journey. She complied and they crossed the sea together. However, when they reached the Asura Kingdom, Felis was betrayed by the blonde noble and was captured by thugs. Then the noble did a lot of experiments to Felis, which made me perplex and angry.

'The blonde noble? Him again?'

'(So... That human has another atrocity that slipped out from my vision. He is truly begging to be killed)'

'Why didn't do it when we encountered him the first time?'

'(Hmph, don't question my decisions, kid. I have other plans for him. Besides, I wipe out the memories of our encounter with him. So, he has no idea who we are and where we are belong)'

'What if someone reinformed him of what happened or something?'

'(What idiot would inform this human on what... happened.... Oh no)'

'Kiana?'

'(Oh shit.... I screwed up... I hope that white bastard doesn't call that blonde human....)'

'White who?'

'(You don't want to know about him. That bastard was the worst trash in existence and he will ruin just your life if you talk to him)'

'O-okay'

After conversing with Kiana, I focus on what's happening outside of my thoughts and looked at onii-chan.

"Onii-chan, I want to tell you on what happened to me while I was kidnapped"

When I told onii-chan about my decision to talk about my captivity, he nodded and instruct me to tell him all about it, as well as to the people in the room. I nodded in compliance and was about to start talking.
