Kaoru, who had arrived and stood atop Marineford, witnessed all the events unfolding.

Thousands of Marines gathered in one location to try to defeat one of the Yonko, someone known as the strongest person in the world, Edward Newgate, or better known by the title Whitebeard.

The Marines were led by Sengoku, a fleet admiral, and the three admirals Aokiji, Akainu, and Kizaru were also present in this war.

It could be said that the current formation of the Marines was their strongest, aside from Sengoku and the three admirals, several other strong individuals were also present, such as Garp and Tsuru, and even the Shichibukai were required to be there.

Someone very large, with a white mustache stretching across his face, ascended to the ship's deck shirtless while carrying a naginata or guandao, which Kaoru considered the same due to their similarities.

That person was Edward Newgate, known as Whitebeard.

Just when everyone thought it was all over, a voice despised by Whitebeard's crew echoed.

Teach, Whitebeard's former son who betrayed him by killing one of their fellow crew, and now a Shichibukai, appeared with his new crew, consisting of prisoners from Level Six of Impel Down and the former jailers, Shiryu of the rain.

Teach fought one-on-one and managed to gain the upper hand against Whitebeard thanks to the powers of his Yami Yami no Mi, which could neutralize the abilities of other Devil Fruits.
