Chapter 10: Clearing the dungeon

Noah had finished his preparation, there wasn't much else that he could do to prepare himself better, he equipped the E-rank armor set, it was leather armor that gave him +10 physical defense and 50 health per piece of equipment, he had raised all his stats except magical defense but for that, he would need to create a special piece of training equipment which wouldn't be possible until he reached the next zone, the armor consisted of a chestplate, gloves, pants, and shoes, granting him 200 extra health.

Noah looked at his stats and was amazed once again, he was glad that he got the chance to restart, he didn't know how he went back in time or why but he was thankful to whatever made it happen, he was guaranteed to be the strongest at this point.

Noah had quite a lot of stat points and there was no point in him saving them so he put all of them into magical defense raising it to 26.

All that he needed to do now was purchase some food and mana potions.

Food was the third-best way to regain health, healings skills coming in first and potions second, but Noah had yet to gain a healing skill, and health potions were extremely expensive and were not available for public purchase in lower-level areas because of the ingredients required to make them.

Mana potions could be made from Moongrass and Slime Cores so even in the lowest level villages they could be made, they were usually sold for 5 bronze coins by alchemists.

Noah headed to the open market and bought 1 silver coin's worth of food, then he headed over to the village alchemist and brought 9 potions using up the rest of his bronze coins, now he only had 1 silver and 1 gold coin.

With his preparations done Noah set out to the mountains, he killed a few slimes and wolves on the way but didn't gain much other than a bit of Exp and a few bronze coins.

He walked through the cave and reached the entrance of the dungeon, he checked his friend list quickly but noted that Matt hadn't accepted his friend request yet.

He looked away from the system and looked at the portal that had formed in front of him.

He put his hands into the portal and immediately got pulled into the dungeon.

Noah had been transported to a completely different place, he was now outside, the sun was setting and there were various small animals around.

This was the first dungeon of the game, it was filled with wolves, and occasionally you could find a goblin which was usually around level 5 to 10, they were the most common monsters in the mountain and were typically in small groups, they were quite hated in the game community since they often stole items and attacked players by ambushing them.

But goblins were rare in the dungeon most enemies you would encounter were wolves as the boss itself was a wolf.

Noah started walking towards the north, you would always spawn in the south and would need to reach the north to access the next floor, in this dungeon most floors were similar but just went up in difficulty in many other dungeons the entire theme could change in a single floor, on one floor you could be traveling through a desert and in the other a frozen tundra, that was why dungeons were one of the most dangerous places players could go.

Noah started walking through the forest and soon encountered his first enemy, a level 5 wolf, he took care of it swiftly and continued onward.

10 minutes later Noah had reached the portal to the next floor, he entered it and found himself in a similar area as the floor before, the enemies here were level 6 and were just as easy to deal with for Noah.

Noah progressed quickly and soon reached floor 5, this floor was where you would encounter the first real challenge.

The scenery had become more like a plains biome and trees had grown more sparse, Noah could see a large group of wolves traveling around with each other, in the center of them was a mini-boss, a level 15 giant wolf.

Noah hid in the tall grass and approached the large group of wolves, he wouldn't be able to use many strategies here so he just attacked them head-on.

Noah chanted the name of his newly gained skill in his mind and attacked one of the level 10 wolves that were in the group, Noah cut through the wolf with ease killing it in 2 slashes.

Noah was now noticed by the entire group, they growled at him threateningly but Noah ignored them and laughed while charging at them, he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy fighting large groups of enemies.

Noah ducked and jumped over claws performing dodges that would shock even the best fighters in the world, Noah now stood in front of the mini-boss, the level 15 wolf would take a lot more hits to take down so he activated his monster transformation.

Fur sprouted along his arms and legs both parts of his body expanded greatly, the muscles in his limbs became stronger and his vitality rose, Noah then used [Mana Control] and used it on [Vital Cut], through vital cut he would 4 times as much damage but because he used another 200 mana on it through mana control it would do double the damage it normally would, Noah's next attack would deal 8 times as much damage now, and it was going to hit the mini-boss.

Noah dashed forward and ducked under the slash that the wolf sent at him, Noah was now underneath the wolf and stabbed his sword into its stomach.

The wolf howled in pain as over 800 damage was instantly dealt to it, a little under half of its health had immediately disappeared.

Noah did around 100 damage with each mana-reinforced hit and he could hit a few times each second, the wolf was losing health rapidly but Noah was going to run out of mana if he didn't use a potion soon, so he backed off and summoned a potion from his inventory and swiftly drank it.

There were only a few wolves left and Noah quickly took care of them, now only the mini-boss was left, it barely had any hp left and Noah had focused on its legs so its movements had become a lot slower.

Noah cast a heavy slash and within a few attacks, the wolf died.

[You have killed a mini-boss!]

[You have gained 1000 Exp, 1 silver coin, and the teeth of a giant wolf!]

Noah was surprised his luck was quite great it seemed, he would've been happier with another body part that would be more useful but teeth weren't bad as they would increase vitality and strength, Noah equipped the teeth and his Strength and Vitality increased by 1 point each

Noah was now halfway through the dungeon, a few more floors and he'd be done, he was already anticipating the boss fight.
