MHA: Maru's Adventure

Follow the story of Adachi Maru, a young hero in training as he navigates family, friends and the heroverse. AU I own nothing except OCs and parts of the plot. The image on the cover isn't mine. If you own it and would like me to take it down, just let me know NO BL, NO HAREM, NO HENTAI. First time writer. Native English Speaker. I love the MHA Universe. Almost always reading or looking for fics in this universe. If you like it, keep reading, I appreciate it. If not, don't bother, I appreciate it. Schedule, at least one chapter a week. I don't intend to commit to more than that cause this is new to me plus I've got other commitments. If I drop more than one, it's hopefully a nice surprise for whoever's reading. Any way, add to Library, Comment, Gift, Support etc PS: I just noticed the opening quote. I don't believe in it. I think its bs but i can't change that bs so i had to state that hear js so you know

CLASS 1A

UA was the poster child for the perfect hero school. Safe, wealthy and with a track record to back it. Among the top 10 heroes of every generation, UA always had a few in their ranks. The current number 1, All Might, was a walking advertisement for the school. Knowing all this, it would be pretty dumb of him not to apply when he lived in Musutafu.

So here he was, gazing at the huge facility in the shape of its shortened name initials (UA). It was the first day of school. The only person he could see in his direct line of sight was a man that looked to be part of the security personnel. Most students were probably just waking up at this time unless they lived a considerable distance away. Maru had grown up near the military. Though he went to a regular middle school, he lived in a military facility's staff housing with his parents. With it came the military lifestyle. His parents reported to work early and so did he. School didn't start until around 8am and they were usually already at the barracks by 6.30am. It was the same today. The entire family was up early. He had been in the military for most of his life, so he had trained himself in some abilities. For example, bathing quickly. In 5 minutes, he was done and quickly slipped into his uniform before heading for breakfast. The only person he found in the kitchen was his father, a well-built man towering over him with his 190cm height. Unfortunately, his only talent in the kitchen was exploding water. Grabbing a few eggs from the fridge, he whipped up an omelette for both of them with some toast and a glass of milk and was off.

Adachi Haru considered telling his son it would be too early but thought better of it. There was no harm in making it early, it'd give him a chance to familiarize himself with the area. Holding up his caramel brown hair in his usual bun, he picked up his dishes to clean up. Maru had already left his on the drying rack. Jeez, he really had the perfect family. A hot wife and responsible son. His looks weren't for nothing to be able to attract the ice queen. A smug smile made its way to his face as he unconsciously danced to an imaginary song about his virtuous self.

Gliding into the premises on his board, he opted to tour the premises and familiarize himself with the area. The skateboard would hopefully make it easier. Massive was a massive understatement of the scale of UA. The map he'd found at a notice board was thankfully colour-coded with a few notes below. He had to picture the entirety of the school as best as he could or he would definitely would end up lost. Luckily for him, the map pin-pointed his current location on the map. He started with the hero training area. A multitude of gyms with equipment he had never seen before were located there. Probably to accommodate the diversity of quirks. Quite a few full-scale models of different areas ranging from residential to forested areas could be seen from afar. This alone would rank any hero school at the top for the diversity offered. He wondered if they ever rented the spaces out.

Next, he headed to the sports facilities. It was a pleasant surprise for him. He knew they had a Gen-ed course but he'd always thought that some of the more ordinary activities like sports teams and clubs would be left out. Wondering about on his lonesome, he slowly made his way to the red barrier with the label 1A. Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door. On walking in, not a single person looked his way. How could they when he was the only one there.

He didn't mind. No, not one bit, he thought as his shoulders sagged. The tension and excitement of a new day melting away. Though he hated to admit it, he had ended up high strung while headed to his class. A hero class. First time for everything. Noticing the sitting chart based on admission numbers, he made his way to the back of the class. It seemed random. The second seat from the window at the back was his. Not bad, he thought. It'd be tough during winter but otherwise he liked the location. Hopefully his neighbors would be fema… friendly.

In the quiet space, he organized his very few items before placing his head on his arm resting on the desk. Maru had also acquired the skill to instantly fall asleep. It didn't take long for him to drift, completely lost to the world. Not a single thing disturbed his rest. Not the ever-increasing volume with the addition of every new student to the class, nor the soft persistent nudge to his shoulder that came a while later. It didn't take long for the nudge to turn into a forceful shove that almost had him fall of his chair. With a loud screech, he pushed his chair backward and stared around, alert to whatever had shoved him. The loud sound of the chair had drawn a few of his classmates' attention to him. His gaze quickly settled on his offender. Or rather, the angry glare of the red-head female next to him. Her annoyance was apparent making him unsure on what to do.

"Move!" She bit out. The frown on her face and twinkle in her eyes making her look almost ferocious. Quietly, he stepped aside. The girl looked like she wanted to kick him in the shin as she made her way to the desk by the window.

His deskie was female. Bad timing but he couldn't help it. The upward tilt to his lips came unconsciously. When the girl turned to see the smile on his face, a low animalistic growl escaped her lips erasing the smile on his face. Although it wasn't the first time he interacted with a girl, it was the first with someone he didn't grow up with. Those he knew back home had seen him cry, pee his pants and tug at ponytails. They had absolutely no filter. Embarrassment could not exist in such a setting. It was so common it became a part of his life. There was nothing to shy away from. But here, he wasn't entirely sure.

Well, it would work itself out.

His classmate's had long returned to whatever conversation they were having before his interruption. A few students were giving the girl an inquisitive look, as though wondering what her quirk was and she immediately stiffened lowering her gaze to her desk. Tadao Raion was accustomed to such gazes. They often went from inquisitive, to fearful. Especially when her quirk acted up. Her frown deepened as she commiserated over what had happened. She had planned to at least come across as ordinary on her first day of school. Well, as ordinary as a student at UA could be. But that flew right out the window. How frustrating. Before she could think much further, a hand appeared in her direct line of sight. The hand led to the expressionless face of the silver haired annoyance seated next to her. Her eyes squinted.

"Adachi Maru," he borderline whispered.

"Huh?"

"Maru. Adachi Maru." This time it was clear though still not particularly loud. His voice was mellow, almost lazy. Looking at the offensive appendage, she considered smacking it but thought better of it. He really had done nothing wrong. He probably couldn't sleep much the previous night due to nerves just like her. She grasped his arm and responded, "Tadao Raion". Her tone was flatter than her chest, he noticed. He wisely kept it a thought.

Before he could talk a bit more to her, the class door was pushed open. A slim man with salt and pepper hair paired with box framed glasses calmly walked into the room. His eyes were stern as he lazily glanced around the class. Every student went silent and stilled in their sits. His posture was straight, almost noble as he made his way to the front-centre of the class. His attire was the exact opposite of his demeanor. He was dressed in a midnight blue long-sleeved shirt, black jacket and grey slacks. His grey belt seemed a little bulky but not much different from an ordinary belt. At his wrist, his shirt peeked out covering what appeared to be his watch and bracelets found on either arm, one of which was holding a grey beanie. On his feet were black combat boots with barely visible midnight blue highlights. If not for his disposition, not a single person would look twice at him.

He took his time observing the students until they almost stopped breathing entirely. Their discomfort inspired no reaction from him. He slipped out a piece of paper from one of his pockets and glanced through its contents. The entire class almost collectively collapsed onto their desks in relief with his eyes off them. Maru could only sigh internally. The discipline this man inspired out of them reminded him of the military. UA was shaping up to be a lot more than what he thought it would be.

The man folded the paper slowly before looking up at the once again stiffened students. It didn't last as long as majority eased at the same gaze being less strict. Maru remained just as stiff earning an eyebrow rise from his deskie. It seemed he wasn't the only one as three other students remained just as stiff. Honestly, such skillful and effortless crowd manipulation would put anyone on guard. This must be a trick. He didn't know what the man was up to but he was sure it wouldn't be 'fun and games'.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Abe. You can call me Abe-sensei. I'll be your homeroom teacher from now on. Welcome to UA."

WOW! Takes a lot of brain power to come up with just one new character, let alone a class. My respect just grew for what writers do. Hope y'all enjoyed it.
