Chapter 27: Sports Festival (6)

[The third match of the first round of the 1vs1 tournament!

Izuku Midoriya who placed second in the obstacle race from the Hero Course 1A

vs

Shoto Todoroki who's team got placed second in the cavalry battle from Hero Course 1A.]

As their names were called, Izuku and Shoto went on to the stage.

Looking at both of them, Midnight asked "Are you guys ready?"

Izuku and Shoto nodded at Midnight in affirmation.

"Then, Start!"

As soon as the match started, Shoto blasted ice towards Izuku, intending to freeze him on the spot.

But, Izuku uses his finger to make a shockwave that destroyed the iceberg created by Shoto, he didn't come unscathed from it as his finger is now purple color due to breaking, and Shoto used his ice to make a barrier at the end of the stage so that he wouldn't go out of bounds.

As soon as the ice was destroyed, both of them moved from their standing position. Izuku tried his best to run around the stage in order to dodge the fire stream sent by Shoto. As Shoto didn't let Izuku close distance between them as he knows that Izuku is mainly a close quarters combatant. So, he made use of his long range abilities of fire and ice.

Every time Shoto used ice, it was destroyed by Izuku by sacrificing one of his fingers, and the same thing happened when Shoto used his fireside too. Within five pairs of attacks of fire and ice, Izuku broke his ten fingers. Seeing that Shoto shouted at Izuku ``Midoriya! I appreciate your willingness to fight. But forfeit now! If you continue, it will be more painful for you."

Even though Shoto said that, Izuku didn't mind it, as his only goal right now was to reach a point which would make All Might proud for taking him in as All Might's successor.

Seeing that Izuku was still trying to close the distance between them to continue the fight even with broken bones, Shoto blasted the ice towards Izuku, right behind it he shot a stream of fire knowing full well that Izuku will try to destroy the ice attack, and Shoto also made an ice shield behind him so that he won't be thrown out of the boundary due to the intense pressure.

And just as Shoto anticipated, Izuku used his right hand to smash the incoming ice.

*Bam*

Before he could take a breather, the fire stream shot by Shoto made the ice that got destroyed by Izuku into high pressure steam that caused an explosion out of proportion.

*Boom*

With the unexpected explosion, Izuku was thrown out the boundary like a ragdoll, and Shoto was still inside the boundary thanks to his ice barrier that he created anticipating this outcome.

"Izuku Midoriya out of bounds!

Shoto Todoroki advances to the quarter finals!" Midnight announced. As it was her job.

The staff who were stationed near the stage to get the injured students to Recovery Girl, quickly took the unconscious Izuku on the stretcher and moved out of the stadium.

[That was a magnificent fight between Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki! With Shoto Todoroki advancing to the quarter finals!

Now, ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome the contestants for the third round to the stage!

Mezō Shoji, from the Hero Course 1A!

Eijiro Kirishima, from the Hero Course 1A!

Let's give them a round of applause everyone!] Present Mike introduced the new contestants.

Mezō who had been sitting near Saiba stood up and walked towards the stage, closely followed by Eijiro who was near him.

As both of them were on the stage that was repaired by Cementos after the Izuku vs Shoto battle, Midnight asked both of them "Are you ready?"

"Yes!" Eijiro replied, while Mezō just nodded in affirmation.

"Then Begin!"

With the signal from Midnight, Eijiro used his quirk and hardened himself then ran straight towards Mezō. Mezō brought his six arms together to have more strength and ran straight towards Eijiro.

The first one to make contact was Mezō, and the first one to get injured was also Mezō. Grumbling, Mezō rained down punches on Eijiro to make sure to keep a little bit of distance between them.

But, within ten hits, Mezō's hands became bloody. Seeing this he winced and stopped his attack and quickly raised his hand and shouted out loud "I surrender!"

Eijiro who got a gap was about to attack Mezō, but stopped as he surrendered.

"Mezō Shohi surrendered! Eijiro Kirishima advances to the quarter finals!" Midnight announced.

Mezō bowed towards Eijiro and got off the stage as fast as possible to get healed by the recovery girl, as his hands were constantly bleeding. Eijiro returned the bow to Mezō and followed along to where the Recovery Girl is situated.

When both of them passed by the 1A students, Mono made half a dozen towels and gave it to Eijiro while saying "Place it on his injury softly. Don't press."

Thanking Momo, Eijiro picked up his speed and made sure to apply the towel on Mezō's injured hands, while continuously apologizing for the injury.

[That was an incredible fight between Mezō Shoji and Eijiro Kirishima!

Now, my dear audience, let's welcome the contestants for the fourth round to the stage!

Mina Ashido, from the Hero Course 1A!

vs

Fumikage Tokoyami, from the Hero Course 1A!

Let's give them a round of applause everyone!]

Getting on the stage both of them looked at each other, Mina was all smiles and energetic, whereas Fumikage was all stoic.

Looking at the new contestants, Midnight asked "Are you ready!"

"Yes!" Mina shouted as soon as Midnight asked with clear excitement in her voice.

"Yes." Fumikage also affirmed that he was ready for the fight.

"Alright! Then START!"

As soon as Midnight started the match, Fumikage shouted "Dark Shadow!"

Right as he said that, Dark Shadow came out of Fumikage's chest and looked around in curiosity.

On the other hand Mina ran towards Fumikage to use her acid quirk on him.

But, before she could even close the distance between them, Fumikage ordered "Dark Shadow, throw her out."

Obeying Fumikage, Dark Shadow just did that. Dark Shadow effortlessly picked up Mina by her ankle and was about to hurl her out of the bound when Mina threw the acid she had held in her hand towards Fumikage. Luckily, Dark Shadow used its other hand to stop the acid thrown at Fumikage and threw Mina out of the bounds.

As soon as she landed on the ground, Midnight announced "Mina Ashido out of bounds! Fumikage Tokoyami advanced to the quarter finals."

When Midnight announced that, Fumikage called back Dark Shadow and went towards Mina and gave her a hand to get up.

Mina, took his hand with a smile on her face even though she lost the fight. As she had secured her goal of reaching the third stage of the sports festival.
