Something New

Running with his highest speed, Jayden daahed past boulders, rocks, some tiny insects and Basic Tier Beasts, scaring them away with his great speed.

Right behind him was a six meter tall dog like creature, it had sharp claws that left deep claw markings in the ground as it charged at Jayden with rage, its three heads were snarling, snapping and barking at him as they chased him down.

Their thick hide made the small rocks that came from the boulders that they crashed through bounce of their body. But to Jayden, those rocks were as large as his head and were shooting at him like missiles.

Jayden was without his Rogue Suit, his mind was calm and his face was expressionless as he dodged the projectiles with ease.

'Just a little more and we'll be there.' Jayden thought, finalizing the plans he had formulated on how to slay the beast.

Since Jayden had entered the canyon, he had not come across any beast for close to an hour. That was until he found the three headed hound, a beast that he and Nate had hunted sometimes together.

Jayden clearly remembered on their first hunt, how they had been chased down by a vengeful hound for passing by its cave and throwing some rocks in it, they were chased until the beast was killed by their team after some collective efforts from them all.

Jayden chuckled to himself as he traveled through the canyon with ease, the obstacle course that he had taken part in during the test to enter the tournament had given him some insights on how to maneuver through a path filled with obstacles varying in size.

He hadn't used his Rogue Suit yet, but his speed was already surpassing the Three Headed Blood Reaver.

He had to reduce his speed to let the Blood Reaver almost catch him, but never do. The gravity of the planet sure slowed him down, but he was able to still move with shocking speed.

Jayden soon got to a wide area with the Blood Reaver following closely behind and both coming to a grinding halt, the high walls by the sides were about seventy meters high and slightly blocked the sun, making some areas have spooky shadows.

The Blood Reaver growled, its six red eyes gleaming with intense bloodlust and rage.

Jayden summoned the Radianium sword and dashed towards the Blood Reaver, the Blood Reaver charged at Jayden with the intent to rip him apart.

Jayden moved swiftly, jumping on two boulders blocking his way and reaching a head of the Blood Reaver.

He slashed his sword at an eye of the head and activated [Anti-Healing Strike]. His energy erupted and covered the sword, coating it with a purple membrane that swirled around the sword with intensity.

The sword cut through the air and made its mark on the eye, destroying it and causing red blood to spurt out of it. The blood splashed on him, painting him red and slightly blocking his sight.

The head wailed loudly, and out of the corner of his blocked vision, Jayden caught the glimpse of something closing in on him.

Jayden performed a backflip by kicking off the snout of the head and shooting back, he retreated in time. Mere seconds later, another head closed it's mouth on the spot he was some seconds ago.

The head at the center had lost its right eye and was filled with more rage.

The blood pouring out from the eye began to seep out faster, it began to flow around the Blood Reavers body mystically and then condense down into an imposing armour.

Jayden watched this process with intrigue while Energy Sight was fully activated. He saw the process of energy being infused into the blood to control it, then the blood was used to cover the vital parts of the body while maintaining it's speed and explosive strength by customizing the armour to fit it's body perfectly, then further condensed by drawing more blood from the body.

The skill was a good one per see, but Jayden knew that it came at a cost, it reduced the vitality of the Blood Reaver, but made it less susceptible to lethal attacks.

There could be more flaws in the technique, but Jayden couldn't find them out and exploit it unless he clashed with the Blood Reaver.

Jayden smiled at this, he was learning new things every day, and this Blood Reaver had just giving him an idea that he could work with.

The Blood Reaver bolted towards Jayden, clearly faster than it was at their first clash, it rammed into Jayden and closed it's fangs down on Jayden.

Jayden on instinct, twisted his body and evaded the jaws that closed with a snap while using the momentum to brandish his sword at the head, another head intercepted the attack and bashed into Jayden from the side causing him to fly through the air.

Jayden rolled and regained his balance, but the Blood Reaver was on him again, not giving hin the chance to recover.

'Either the technique has a time limit, or this beast is a sadistic FUCK!!!' Jayden cursed with gritted teeths.

The bashes weren't light, they would have remoulded the insides of a normal human, but Jayden's body was strong enough to survive a few of those attacks before breaking down.

Jayden saw the hounds tail whip through the air with tremendous force and almost crash into him, he blocked the attack with his sword but was still thrown into the wall, digging a deep hole in it.

Jayden immediately jumped back up, the hound swiped it's paws at him, Jayden counter attacked and slashed his sword with the Anti Healing Strike. The sword cut through the air and collided with the Blood Reavers paw.

The Blood Reaver wasn't pushed back and neither was Jayden.

He kicked off the ground, cracking the ground beneath him and arriving beneath the Blood Reaver, Jayden's sword pierced through the air and collided with the tough armour of the Blood Reaver.

The sword clanged and was rebounded by the armour without leaving a scratch on it.

Jayden frowned and rolled out from beneath the Blood Reaver that suddenly layed flat on its belly.

"That armour's tough!" Jayden said, his frown disappearing.

"So let's try something new."
