Draven's New Power

Silence fell on the Arena... and like a plague, spread speedily to the last parts of the whole settlement.

Jayden wasn't spared from this, he was stunned into silence by the sudden emergence of Draven from his shadow.

If that was only what happened, he wouldn't have reacted that way, but Draven's new humanoid look and the fact that he just spoke, made him elated.

'His intelligence is fully developed.' Jayden thought. He replayed the words he spoke to him and then grinned like a fool.

"Your turn right?" Jayden said, and then his voice turned cold. "Make sure you beat him to a pulp, then kill him."

After those words, Jayden retreated to the edge of the stage and activated the skill [Light Repel] that he had gotten from Sir Julius, or rather, Max Bauer, shocking everyone who saw the aftermath of the attack.

"HOW THE FUCK DID HE SURVIVE?!!!" The spectators raised an uproar and began to ask for a replay. But before the MC could do so, their attention was drawn to the smoke and dust clearing.

"What in the name of the gods is that thing!?!"

"Looks like a Beast Kin."

As the crowd were going batshit to understand what was going on, the Asura had his hands stuck in the wall of shadows before him. He pulled and pulled and pulled, but his hands didn't budge even a bit.

Draven made the wall dissolve, and it suddenly turned intangible and fell to the ground.

The Asura jumped back and stared at Draven who had stopped his punch with a mere wall, which in turn made the Asura madder. 'What was that? An ability?' The Asura thought. 'Why is it when I decide to fight do this variables always come up!!?'

As the Asura thought, his anger was beginning to rise and spill over again, his red aura was beginning to increase at a stunning pace, and before anyone could say JACK, it had covered at least eight meters around him and was as high as a duplex.

Draven and Jayden just stared at this with blank expressions on their faces.

The Asura burst with immense speed, aiming to blast Draven into pieces, Draven reacted with a quick swipe of his arms.

Two thick crescent red blades of energy intercepted the Asura, but he punched them and they broke apart into light particles, he bellowed and was about to charge in again, but more crescent blades of red energy came his way and he was forced to break them.

The Asuras fists moved at unprecedented speeds and smashed against the red crescent blades, Draven didn't seem to tire out either, as he kept on spamming the attacks, and with each wave of crescent blades, the Asura was taking a step forward.

This stalemate was taking longer than expected, but the Asura had eventually reached Draven and smiled coldly.

"As a ranged fighter, you must be terrible in melee combat right?!!" The Asura snickered and threw out a fist full of violent red energy, but he couldn't have made any more worse decision in his entire life.

Draven mimicked the Asura's energy, and a dark sinister red energy began to spiral around his arms and body.

The red and black pieces of armours covering his hands up to his elbows, and his feets up to his knees, began to glow with a dark red energy. Draven matched the Asuras punch, and they both collided, causing a ring of energy to blast out and destroy the stages grounds.

No one understood what happened next, but the Asura was suddenly flung back akin to a missile, and was about to get thrown out of the stage.

Draven stepped through the shadows and emerged beneath the Asura, he grabbed the Asura by his legs and smashed him on the ground, the stage immediately broke apart from the destructive force behind the strike.

The Asuras eyes rolled back, but he immediately regained his senses and wiggled out of Draven's grasp.

The Asura landed with a bang, causing the ground to get deformed further. He dashed at Draven and they both engaged in close quater combat.

As Draven threw each blow, punch and kick, Jayden's eyes widened into saucers.

'WHEN THE FUCK DID DRAVEN LEARN MARTIAL ARTS?!!!' Jayden screamed in his mind.

[I might have had a hand in that]

'What did you do behind my back again?' Jayden asked, knowing that whatever he was going to say might hurt him.

[I imparted a Melee Martial Arts, Dreadful Shadows, on him]

Jayden grabbed his chest and looked down. 'Why me?'

[At least Draven has it]

Jayden felt a bit of relief at that. It wasn't his fault for feeling that way, he knew that once a technique has been imparted on someone by Nahshson, it was impossible for him to do it again with that same technique on someone else, because he has basically given it away and can't get it back unless he learnt it again somehow.

Jayden watched as Draven began to loose the melee combat, and get pushed back while getting some hits.

[He hasn't perfected it yet]

'Why is he even humanoid in the first place.' Jayden asked.

[He was bound to become humanoid when his respawn was intercepted and became something else, but I knew that with his potential, he was going to get a humanoid shape one day, so I decided to impart him with the Martial Arts to help him when he reached that level someday]

'I see. How did you know which Martial Art was going to benefit him the most?'

[I didn't, I just gave him what he needed]

[Dreadful Shadows needs the user to have control over shadows, and Draven has just that, so with his new skills, he can definitely defeat the Asura easily]

'Easily? But he's getting pushed back.' Jayden said as he watched Draven yet again, tank another full powered punch.

[That's because he hasn't used Dreadful Shadows fully]

'Interesting.' Jayden stroked his metal chin in glee. The fact that Draven wasn't even going full ham, and was maintaing a dead lock wth an Asura –a race with terrifying combat techniques– was an achievement on its own and Jayden was proud.

A few moments later, Draven was thrown back by a powerful strike to his chest.

The Asura shot towards him to finish him off, but he suddenly felt crippling fear assault him, and before he could retreat...

"Dreadful Shadows Technique." Draven's deep voice echoed in the arena. "First Shadow Style...

...Shadow Bind."
