Under attack
Dashing forward, Derek raised his hands, and a transparent shield formed two inches away from his palm and spread in a semicircle.
The grass trembled, and a gigantic spider about four meters tall came out, scuttling toward him while screeching loudly.

Derek ended the spider's battle cry by throwing his dagger, and it lodged deep into the spider's head, freezing its brain.
More scuttling sounds rang, followed by gunfire from both Angel and Jake, while Sam and Li Mei drew their melee weapons.
Li Mei rushed towards the spiders while Sam offered protection for Kira, raising his green-coloured sword and keeping vigilant at all angles.
Whoosh!
Derek vanished, appeared in between two spiders, and slashed off their forelegs before leaping into the air to avoid their venoms.
He vanished again, appearing below the abdomen of a spider and plunging Finisher before making a long gash, causing the beast to fall to the ground.
