"Colonel, this is not your choice, for we have been seen as worthy enough to be given this mission." Roland's deep tone pierced deep into the other's minds, but the man who was also a colonel stood up and hollered, "That was before!"
"Captain, your team might not be up to the task, so I suggest we send my special troops. They'll get the job done in just five days," another man spoke while facing Isabella. He disregarded Roland's presence. To him, anyone could gather fame, but compared to ranks, it was nothing.
It did not matter what privilege Roland was given, all he knew was that Roland was a captain. Roland had the lowest rank in this room, which placed him in a position to listen.
Besides, he doubted Roland could complete this mission. There was no second chance once this was messed up. He couldn't understand why Isabella gave Roland this much respect.
