Roland's privilege
Roland did not continue and had stopped stating the name of the regiment or division he was under because, with his exploits, the federation had finally granted him the authority for his company to be under them alone.
This meant Roland would answer only to orders that came from the top. Though he was still a captain, compared to other captains, he was in a league of his own. No one could interfere with his company and, as much as this news made him proud and happy, the order for him to lead his company to the battlefield when war came was never taken down.
This was the reason he wanted to groom his company to be strong enough to handle the dread of the war without falling apart.
And besides, they were famous enough for at least one soldier in this Safehold to know about them.
