Gavin watched with rapt attention. He felt Derek was too hard on Angel, but didn't speak out. After all, Derek knew more about this than him.
"Take it. I know you can," Derek said in a soft, warm tone. "What do you feel when you're about to make a shot? How confident are you? Are you a sniper without your rifle?"
Angel sighed, and she gave up. She had tried if there was some sort of mind power or even wished for it to appear in her hands, but nothing worked.
"I don't think I can do it-"
Derek interrupted her again. "Make a shot" With that, he threw the rifle into the air. It was so high that the gun almost touched the lofty ceiling.
Angel dashed forward, but her speed wasn't enough to make it halfway through the hall without the rifle hitting the ground, and that wasn't the main problem.
Derek looked dead serious about destroying her rifle with his dagger. The lethal flash in his eyes made her heart quicken.
