"W…what" Rose responded, her voice cracking as she blinked. She thought she wouldn't care, but why did she feel like her heart was being dipped in ice water? Her expression was hidden by her helm, causing Sam, who stared at her motionless body, to misunderstand.
That's right, she didn't care; he was kidding himself. "HELP!!" They both heard a scream as the bats had decided to attack, a bat swooshed from behind and caught the cadet who couldn't help but scream as he was caught off-guard and his rifle had fallen to the ground due to the shock.
The dusty wind almost swept Sam off his feet, seeing the Kid being lifted into the air, the weight of the Exo suit offered no problem to the bat. Sam knew if no one acted, that kid was a goner.
"Sam, we need you asap," he heard the huge man's voice from his comm. Rose had expected Sam to go after the kid like he always did, despite the situation, but this time, it was different.
